Scroby Posted June 5, 2006 Report Posted June 5, 2006 Starts on July 10th. Adult Swim aired a bump where it was just music playing. Then the bump read "Do you reconize this?" I listened closely to the music....and it dawned on me. It was the opening theme for Pee-wee's playhouse right before the door opened and the silly theme song played. Then the bump read "starts July 10th". This is awesome.
Mole Posted June 5, 2006 Report Posted June 5, 2006 Ha, that is pretty awesome. That Saved by the Bell run they had was amazing.
Maztinho Posted June 5, 2006 Report Posted June 5, 2006 Prepare for awesome phallic jokes during the bumps.
Art Sandusky Posted June 5, 2006 Report Posted June 5, 2006 "Do you recognize this?" They should know better than to state their marketing plan so transparently.
Darthtiki Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 Fuck yes, I grew up on this before the Tampa incident and the child porn sting that got him and Mr. Rooney
Bruiser Chong Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 Awesome. The DVD season sets have held me over nicely, but it'll be a plus to be able to catch a few of these on TV. Too many people dwell on Reuben's actions and not on how genius this show had the tendency to be.
Ced Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 They certainly pick winners when it comes to these nostalgia runs.
Spaceman Spiff Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 They should run the HBO special that the kiddie show was based on. And speaking of, who saw that special, and said "this'll work for kids!"? That's kinda messed up.
Failed Bridge Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 Phil Hartman was Jambi in that but not in the series, why?
Spaceman Spiff Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 Phil was Captain Carl. Regardless, it would just be re-airing that special, not producing a new one. As for not being in the kiddie show, I remember when Phil was on Howard Stern, they got into a discussion of some bad blood between Hartman & Reubens. Something along the lines of Reubens taking too much credit. Not sure if that was the main reason or not, though.
SuperJerk Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 Let's not forget Lawrence Fishburne as Cowboy Curtis, people.
Guest Felonies! Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 I was Conky the Robot, or in my words, "Conky The Robot From The Show Pee-Wee's Playhouse!" when I was very young.
