Was ECW music as important to you...

One thing that was a guilty pleasure for me was seeing Public enemy's entrance. Not only the music (which I don't know the name of the song) but seeing the entire ECW arena waving their arms back and forth when the music is cued in, now that looked like fun in 95. Sad that Rocco Rock died and we can't see that again

The music was part of what made ECW special, and I think was part of the underground appeal.

 

That said, I don't think the music isn't going to make or break the new ECW. It's just not that important to the average wrestling fan, as long as Vince has his production crew come up with some cool new music for the ECW guys.

Whatever. Drain STH is a great band and their two albums are fantastic. If it weren't for ECW using it for Simon Diamond, I would have never discovered that band.

On September 22, 2002, Ted Petty ("Flyboy" Rocco Rock) died after suffering a heart attack the night before, following a wrestling event. This would effectively end The Public Enemy as a unit, although Johnny Grunge had been semi-retired for a few years after the XWF failed to get a TV deal. It is said that Ted's death hurt Johnny hard, and for the rest of his life he was never the same.

 

On February 16, 2006, four years after the death of Ted Petty, Mike Durham (Johnny Grunge) died in his residence after suffering from complications from sleep apnea. His friend tried to get Durham to the hospital in time, but by the time they arrived at the hospital, Durham was pronounced dead on arrival.

``It can't be a nostalgia show because if it's a nostalgia show, it's doomed right off the bat. It's going to be a progressively thinking promotion. It's going to have the most contemporary music. With that in mind I'm very excited about it.''

I'm surpised no one has brought up "Walk" for Rob Van Dam so that everyone can chant RE...SPECT...WALK WHAT-DO-YA-SAY. ECW was using the Kilgore version for the last few years, so I imagine that wouldn't be hard to use.

 

I remember seeing the Music Video and they were in the ring..and they showed a lot of RVD wrestling and the like. I thought it was pretty cool.

Have you heard that song? Its basically his first WWE theme with lyrics over it, but the lyrics are pretty much screamed.

Dammit! I was so going to make fun of Pauls overuse of "Bodies.." in just about everything he does. "The kids are all about the limp bizkit these days". I like Paul E for the most part, but the dude has to come back to reality and realize he is a 40 year old jew who rocks a skullet, which means maybe his eye for cultural trends needs a monocle (which I hear is huge among the vampire-mr peanut crowd that has been taking over NYC for the past few years (and yes, instead of blood, they do drink melted Skippy (which is far more disgusting))).

I don't think Sid had music in ECW, just like the Dudleys. Judge Jeff Jones would come out an introduce him, then he'd walk out and talk about "taking souls."

Enter Sandman is at least 15 years old now. A rock classic, yes, but Metallica isn't nearly as popular as they once were at least from the way I see it. I know a lot of people were stunned when Hogan's theme was changed from Eye of the Tiger but the Real American theme is what he's known for now, just adapt to the times.

If memory serves me, they used the Motorhead cover a few times when the ECW album came out, but fans didn't take to it nearly as much. I would *ACCEPT* Motorheads' Enter Sandman--it isn't bad. But it's still not the same.
