Guest Kobe24KGold Posted June 11, 2006 Report Posted June 11, 2006 Please get everyone to literally turn their backs on, and stay there in absolute silence, during Angle vs. Orton Please.
slimm44 Posted June 11, 2006 Report Posted June 11, 2006 Why? Why make a thread about this, or why turn their backs, or why am I posting in this useless thread when someone mentioned it in the PPV thread?
Guest Kobe24KGold Posted June 11, 2006 Report Posted June 11, 2006 Why? WHY? WHY? WHY? Uhhhhhh, because it's practically WWE vs. WWE at an ECW event. Do you ECW fanboys want this to turn out like the Invasion?
Bruce Blank Posted June 11, 2006 Report Posted June 11, 2006 Oh lord save me from the uber-smarks. ECW closed shop 5 years ago - they can't just use the "same old, same old" or you may as well pop in an old ECF PPV tape and let her rip. Now Orton shouldn't be on an ECW PPV... nor an Raw one or a Smackdown one - not even a TNA PPV
Enigma Posted June 11, 2006 Report Posted June 11, 2006 I nominate Kobe24KGold for thread-starting probation.
goldengreek Posted June 11, 2006 Report Posted June 11, 2006 How the FUCK can anyone turn their back on Curt ANGLE????????????????? The guy is a great wrestler and wrestles injured!!!!! No fuckin way.
Lt. Al Giardello Posted June 11, 2006 Report Posted June 11, 2006 Who is Curt Angle? Kirk Angel's cousin?
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted June 11, 2006 Report Posted June 11, 2006 He has a lot of siblings, so that's possible.
razazteca Posted June 11, 2006 Report Posted June 11, 2006 Please get everyone to literally turn their backs on, and stay there in absolute silence, during Angle vs. Orton Please. Throwing chairs into the ring would be better.
Hawk 34 Posted June 11, 2006 Report Posted June 11, 2006 Those chairs are worth $200 bucks. Might as well throw your wallet into the ring.
Open the Muggy Gate Posted June 11, 2006 Report Posted June 11, 2006 Fine... throw a rock with a $100 bill attached to it. And make sure it's a big rock.
Failed Bridge Posted June 11, 2006 Report Posted June 11, 2006 Kurt Angle was in ECW before he ever went to the WWE...he never wrestled, but he was there for a few shows.
Spaceman Spiff Posted June 11, 2006 Report Posted June 11, 2006 Who is Curt Angle? I think he's a buddy of Bret "Hit Man" Clarke.
razazteca Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 Those chairs are worth $200 bucks. Might as well throw your wallet into the ring. You lost your wallet the second you bought tickets so you might as well get your money's worth by throwing the chair the second Orton does the pose for the Botch Crusher....I mean the RKO.
BigDawgCarl Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 all of them would've missed the MOTN if they did that
claydude14 Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 Fuck that, it was the worst part of the show. A completly WWE style match that had me keep wishing it was over every 5 minutes when they'd tease a finishing sequence.
skullman80 Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 Fuck that, it was the worst part of the show. A completly WWE style match that had me keep wishing it was over every 5 minutes when they'd tease a finishing sequence. It wasn't a bad match at all.
Guest Coffey Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 I thought it was trash and totally out of place, myself. It certainly wasn't Match of the Night. I thought it was the most dull, honestly. Just 'cause it had Angle and went twenty minutes doesn't mean it's a contender.
Guest Felonies! Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 But Angle was interesting tonight, more than usual. Orton's just so staggeringly boring that it neutralizes everything.
Guest Coffey Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 It was obvious that Orton was clueless when Angle tried to amateur wrestle him. That's when I lost interest and it went on for, like, seven minutes.
NoCalMike Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 I have no clue why people thought this was the MOTN. Angle and Orton didn't mesh well, but I think it was because they were trying to "tell a story" in the match which was "Angle is a wrestler, Orton is a superstar" I mean there was just so much blatant "I can out manuever you, bitch" sequences for the first 10 minutes of the match. It kind of got old after awhile and it seemed like Orton got frustrated with it all and just wanted to get the match over with. Angle will be fine in ECW, once he starts wrestling other guys that can do the "amatuer wrestling sequences" I'd like to see an Angle/Guido match where they are seen on even ground without Angle being pushed as god, because both those guys can shoot. Angle/Tanaka would be nice, but I think Tanaka was a one night deal. I really like the idea of Angle in ECW, but I don't really want another "Taz gimmick" where he just destroys everybody. I mean the whole reason that Taz was pushed like a god is because he was "leaving a path of destruction" until Sabu would agree to wrestle him, and it was built up for an entire year, but that is because the crowd accepted the fact that Taz would not lose until his showdown with Sabu(which he ended up winning anyway) There is no "Sabu"in ECW for Angle....YET. So until then, Angle should just be treated as a very good wrestler, not a god, and just produce good matches, not squashes because there are plenty of guys there for Angle to have very good matches with.
RavishingRickRudo Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 It was really shitty amateur wrestling too. Kurt can't wrestle that style for shit, which is funny -not because he was an olympic gold medalist- but becuase he's been wrestling that style off and on for 7 years and hasn't improved a lick.
RavishingRickRudo Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 And BTW, TONY MAMALUKE did a better job with applying submissions and mat wrestling than Kurt Angle.
NoCalMike Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 And BTW, TONY MAMALUKE did a better job with applying submissions and mat wrestling than Kurt Angle. Well yeah I have been trying to tell people for years that a good amatuer wrestler doesn't automatically translate into entertaining pro-wrestling matches. Angle, in ECW will be in the ring with others that know how to integrate amatuer wrestling sequences INTO PROWRESTLING MATCHES, which in reality makes them better workers, that is why I really don't want Angle being booked as GOD, and just as a ECW wrestler that is a good technical guy.
