naiwf Posted June 26, 2006 Report Posted June 26, 2006 Byung-Hyun Lidge ain't shit. He's done as an elite closer.
vivalaultra Posted June 26, 2006 Report Posted June 26, 2006 This is why you don't put your closer in in a non-save situation on the road. Has Jeff Brantley not stressed this enough?
geniusMoment Posted June 26, 2006 Report Posted June 26, 2006 This is why you don't put your closer in in a non-save situation on the road. Has Jeff Brantley not stressed this enough? I can't listen to any man with a perm.
razazteca Posted June 26, 2006 Report Posted June 26, 2006 So was that the 3rd Grand Slam the Astros gave up this week?
vivalaultra Posted June 26, 2006 Report Posted June 26, 2006 The third grand slam this weekend. Podsednik, Crede, Iguchi... I feel like vomiting...or giving Brad Lidge the worse hoosesoaking of his life.
razazteca Posted June 26, 2006 Report Posted June 26, 2006 2 leadoff hitters and a utility infielder? Fire the pitching coach now!
Bored Posted June 26, 2006 Author Report Posted June 26, 2006 I'm sure the White Sox manufactured all those grand slams with bunts though, right? I mean everyone knows that's how the White Sox win.
vivalaultra Posted June 26, 2006 Report Posted June 26, 2006 Nah, they had Hawk Harrelson in the booth relaying signs to em, though. Of that much, I'm sure.
geniusMoment Posted June 26, 2006 Report Posted June 26, 2006 Guess who's coming up? If he does it again it would have to be the most impressive three at-bats ever.
vivalaultra Posted June 26, 2006 Report Posted June 26, 2006 If he does, I'll almost feel as bad as Cubs' fans do.
vivalaultra Posted June 26, 2006 Report Posted June 26, 2006 Yeah, I really like watching Clemens pitch. Any time you can add a Hall-of-Fame pitcher to your rotation, it's a good thing...Wait...were you being sarcastic?
geniusMoment Posted June 26, 2006 Report Posted June 26, 2006 Good thing they signed Clemens. They're only 3 behind the Reds for the wild card, and only 5 back of the cards. It was a great signing.
geniusMoment Posted June 26, 2006 Report Posted June 26, 2006 I hope this game goes 20 fucking innings. College is out and I've got nothing to do all night.
vivalaultra Posted June 26, 2006 Report Posted June 26, 2006 Hey...since when is Steve Bartman a Sox fan? God, I hope we can hold the lead. Iguchi isn't up this inning, so...please, Baseball Gods...
Mik Posted June 26, 2006 Report Posted June 26, 2006 Quite possibly the GREATEST manager meltdown I've EVER seen. LINK Sweet Lou Pinella has got NOTHING on this guy.
vivalaultra Posted June 26, 2006 Report Posted June 26, 2006 Good Lord. This game felt like in the first Mortal Kombat where you have to beat that dude with like...fifteen arms and then after he kicked your ass and you barely eeked out a victory over him you still had to fight like another guy and then Shang Tsung, but a win is a win...even if this was the most emasculating Astros win I've seen in a very, very long time. I hear Leo Mazzonne likes fixing broken pitchers. Maybe that Lidge, Everett, Lane for Tejada trade could still go down...but probably not. I've been drinking Vault Soda and smoking Marlboro Reds for several hours. If I to into a sugar coma or get lung cancer, I'm suing the Houston Astros.
Bruiser Chong Posted June 26, 2006 Report Posted June 26, 2006 Yeah, I really like watching Clemens pitch. Any time you can add a Hall-of-Fame pitcher to your rotation, it's a good thing...Wait...were you being sarcastic? Just seems if they had all this available money, they should've gone out and built a bullpen that won't crap away a seven-run lead in the span of two innings.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted June 26, 2006 Report Posted June 26, 2006 Vampiro can thank the gods for this loss for the Sox.

Just seems if they had all this available money, they should've gone out and built a bullpen that won't crap away a seven-run lead in the span of two innings. They didn't really have "all this available money". Owner Drayton McClane exceeded the payroll for a special case, that case being Clemens. It's a total rent-a-player move. However, I think that it's evident that we need to do something with our bullpen. And besides, before the season I doubt they thought the bullpen would be this shoddy. It's basically the same pen we had last season that was so good. Who could've predicted the downfall of Qualls, Wheeler, and Lidge...well, Lidge not so much, but I am surprised that Qualls and Wheeler are going through such streakiness.
Vampiro69 Posted June 26, 2006 Report Posted June 26, 2006 Quite possibly the GREATEST manager meltdown I've EVER seen. LINK Sweet Lou Pinella has got NOTHING on this guy. Damn, that is quite the meltdown. I really liked the meltdown Lloyd McClendon had a few years back with the Pirates when he took a base back with him to the dugout and didn't want to give it back.
Cuban Linx Posted June 26, 2006 Report Posted June 26, 2006 Byung-Hyun Kim is the AL West killer, back-to-back shutouts of Oakland and now Texas, both at Coors no less.
Guest Smues Posted June 26, 2006 Report Posted June 26, 2006 I got my wish about Russ Ortiz. The Os signed him and sent Adam Loewen down and Ortiz will take his spot in the rotation. I dont know terms of the deal or anything.. Does this get the D-backs off the hook for the rest of his contract? I sure hope not.
