starvenger 0 Report post Posted September 15, 2006 Come on now every reality tv show has writers. Yeah, but TUF's writer budget is spent for segments where people say how great Dana White is...

naiwf 0 Report post Posted September 16, 2006 Looks like the ratings this season suck, and I blame YPOV and his elitist attitude for jinxing it. Thanks alot, bro. Shitty fights, a dude choosing pussy over a potential title shot and the Shonie Show probably haven't inspired many people to watch. Aside from Matt Serra there really hasn't been a likable guy who has gotten any TV time thus far.

Aside from Matt Serra there really hasn't been a likable guy who has gotten any TV time thus far. I'm referencing the fact that he and alot of other people thought that by having a bunch of veterans in the house would lead to higher quality fights, more proffesionalism and less need for house drama. As it is, the fights are pretty much the same as usual, with guys who have good ground games dominating those who don't, and there's the aforementioned lack of personality amongst most of the fighters. Personally, I preffered some of the earlier seasons, simply because it was more entertaining for me to learn a bit more about and get behind young, under-the-radar fighters. Personally, I preffered some of the earlier seasons, simply because it was more entertaining for me to learn a bit more about and get behind young, under-the-radar fighters. I knew what you meant. This season has just been really boring with the exception of Serra. While I expected we'd see some lazy guys and stupid drama, I certainly wouldn't have expected the fights to be this bad though. The one thing this season lacks is the feeling that you got in at the ground floor of some guys UFC career. The vast majority of these dudes suck, and even the two guys who win will likely get stomped by the champion at their weight class and fade right back into obscurity/mediocrity. Damaramu 0 Report post Posted September 16, 2006 We haven't seen enough training. We barely see them train or interact with the trainers. On top of that I'm tired of hearing Dana White blow each guy like he's the greatest fighter ever before each fight. "He's a very good fighter! He's looking to get back into the UFC because he's so good and hungry! He fell off the map for some reason but he's good! Fuck! Fuck! Fu-fucking-ck!" If you think they're so good Dana then why do they have to go through some BS show?

Well, the TV ads DID say that having veterans would lead to the best fights. There's just NO excitement this season. Having it follow the Ortiz-Shamrock season doesn't help. razazteca 0 Report post Posted September 16, 2006 the aforementioned lack of personality amongst most of the fighters. And the lack of camera time for the "coaches" with Georges St. Pierre being a nonfactor on the show up to this point it has been the Matt Serra and Randy Couture show with Shonie Carter acting the fool in the house. Hawkius Maximus 0 Report post Posted September 16, 2006 Shonie's been the only real good thing this season. Beyond him, it's just lacking the personalities. Plus, I think the team concept is just silly, espcially with no team coaches this time around. Make everyone train together all the while setting up a system where one person gets to select their opponent. Every man for themselves mentality would up the paranoia and make this all more exciting, while making people train harder since they'd have NO idea when they'd be fighting. cameron chaos 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2006 I really hope to see Din Thomas Vs. Shonie Carter in the Semi Finals. That would be a VERY interesting fight. Serra should own Spratt quite easily. Setting up an all Grey Welterweight Semi Finals. Our own Josh Gross spoiled the finals a couple of months ago now. Dig through Sherdog.com's Beatdown radio shows if you want to know what the rumoured finals are.

Lt. Al Giardello 0 Report post Posted September 22, 2006 Damn, I take back my previous statement, I'm glad Sell won. The flashbacks reminded me of how bad the Quarry/Sell stoppage was, Cecil Peoples is a moron, he would've stopped the fight a couple times during this fight. Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted September 25, 2006 It was a concept season, Dana and Co. knew they'd be taking a gamble signing these guys, I don't think they'll be too pissed off. Plus, the Ultimate Fight Night finales have a rep for putting on awesome fights (Bonnar/Griffin, Sanchez/Diaz, Herman/Grove) so people are going to tune in regardless. There are some guys that whether or not they win will get a second shot (Cote, Sell) and guys that don't even belong in their current weight classes (Serra, Thomas) but I think in 6 months when the champs have beat whoever wins this show it'll all be forgotten. Angel_Grace_Blue 0 Report post Posted September 30, 2006 I was surprised Serra won since there wasn't a tape of him screaming to keep breathing, remember the foot stomps, and go for hammer fists and elbows. I did like the bloody emo tear he got. Also: Any guesses on when McCarthy climbs a clocktower?
