devo 0 Report post Posted July 17, 2006 God bless Wrigley Field. 11-5 Mets after Beltran hits the inning's second Grand Slam.
Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted July 17, 2006 I only saw the first grand slam in between other viewing, but wow, that's the biggest inning in Mets' history, according to ESPN. That's just another addition to the list of Cub firsts this season.
Danville_Wrestling 0 Report post Posted July 17, 2006 Reds rallying to beat the Rockies starting in the 8th inning with Adam Dunn's HR made my day. Now we have a two game lead in the WC race and let's hope it stays that way.

EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted July 17, 2006 How is Harry Doyle NOT the announcer of the Chicago Cubs? I love Bob Uecker as much as anyone else, but even he couldn't top Ron Santo.
Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted July 17, 2006 Jon Miller thinks one of the reason Hernandez may have struggled tonight is cause the Mets catcher's last name is Castro. No, I'm not making that up. That is why Jon Miller is the greatest TV baseball broadcaster in the game today. He was trying to be funny, when he made that comment.
Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted July 17, 2006 And failed miserably. I love Bob Uecker as much as anyone else, but even he couldn't top Ron Santo. This is true. Uecker's more of a sarcastic bastard, while Ronny's like the scorned lover who keeps going back for more, thinking this time, it'll be different.
Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted July 17, 2006 Cubs gave up as many runs in tonight's sixth inning as they did over the course of 93 innings earlier this season.

That is why Jon Miller is the greatest TV baseball broadcaster in the game today. He was trying to be funny, when he made that comment. Yeah, that's what made it so funny. The comment, in and of itself, was not that funny and only slightly clever at best, but he gave the line with such gusto and conviction that it made the line great. Either that or I was just glad that Joe Morgan quit talking for a minute.

Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted July 17, 2006 I am so glad the Reds came out of the All Star break rejuvinated, 4-game sweeps are always nice to see. What's nice to see is that Adam Dunn isn't crying about his best friend being "taken away" like you see with some players. He has been really productive in the #2 spot and I'm stunned Narron or the previous managers never had the idea to put Dunn in that spot.
Guest StylesMark Report post Posted July 18, 2006 Yankees are up 4-2 against Seattle. Giambi crushed one to the upper deck. Wang is starting to slow down, but gets through the 6th. edit: I just saw this was last weeks. That's what I get for staying in the thread for over 24 hours.
