Mr. S£im Citrus Posted July 26, 2006 Report Posted July 26, 2006 Yahoo! News: Jury finds Yates not guilty in drownings I call bullshit; not guilty?
bob_barron Posted July 26, 2006 Report Posted July 26, 2006 Not guilty by reason of insanity. Saying she was just found not guilty is kind of misleading
MrRant Posted July 26, 2006 Report Posted July 26, 2006 Then someone needs to shoot her ass on the street.
Mr. S£im Citrus Posted July 26, 2006 Author Report Posted July 26, 2006 Saying she was just found not guilty is kind of misleadingSomebody didn't read the thread's subtitle.
Broward83 Posted July 26, 2006 Report Posted July 26, 2006 Fuck this. I remember when I was still in Houston and heard about all of this. My first thought is the same thought I have today... "Unretire ol' Sparky and fry the fucking bitch where she stands..." Now I know there are "legit" reasons behind all of this, but fucking hell... FIVE KIDS. FIVE YOUNG KIDS. If it was maybe just one, then you've got more of a case, but this cunt fucking killed five kids.. in succession. At kid three, you've got to fucking snap and realize what it is you're doing. God.. why doesn't Houston ever get a sniper like DC or other cities get? This would be the best time to have one...
Maztinho Posted July 26, 2006 Report Posted July 26, 2006 Yates' 2002 conviction was overturned after Dr. Park Dietz, a forensic psychiatrist, told the jury that before the drownings, NBC ran a "Law & Order" episode about a woman who was acquitted by reason of insanity after drowning her children. It was later learned that no such episode existed. That's reason to overturn a conviction? Because someone testified that about a TV show? That's what's bullshit in this.
Danville_Wrestling Posted July 26, 2006 Report Posted July 26, 2006 Let's hope she stays in a mental institution for the rest of her life and some wacko judge decides not to release her upon society again. Jurors couldn't even be told that if they voted not guilty by reason of insanity that she could be let out by a judge at a later date. Something is messed up with that law.
NYU Posted July 26, 2006 Report Posted July 26, 2006 From CNN.com: Rusty Yates divorced Andrea Yates after the children's June 2001 deaths and recently remarried. He said they are still "friends" and reminisce about the children. What?! "Honey, remember that time you went crazy and drowned our five kids?" Good times."
MrRant Posted July 26, 2006 Report Posted July 26, 2006 Now is the time when we need a posse to go riding.
Vampiro69 Posted July 26, 2006 Report Posted July 26, 2006 The verdict should have read "Guilty but insane".
Dobbs 3K Posted July 26, 2006 Report Posted July 26, 2006 Well, I'm sure she has huge mental problems, but I just hope she's never allowed to leave prison or a mental institution for the rest of her life. Let her think about what she did.
2GOLD Posted July 26, 2006 Report Posted July 26, 2006 Great, now TEXAS has went pussy. What state of insanely psychotic death penalty loving people do we have now?!?!
Lord of The Curry Posted July 26, 2006 Report Posted July 26, 2006 "Insanity" should be equal to "Of no current use in a functional society", leading to the death penalty.
Guest Posted July 26, 2006 Report Posted July 26, 2006 I just know that a certain someone will come in here and say that she should be rehabilitated, and let out in 10 years. I'm sure you know who I'm talking about.
Guest Oblivious Heel Posted July 26, 2006 Report Posted July 26, 2006 She should be put to death not only for murder but for being a fucking retard.
Guest NYankees Posted July 26, 2006 Report Posted July 26, 2006 Mr. Yates should get life in jail for leaving 5 young kids alone with that Crazy Bitch. Andrea Yates before had heard voices telling her to kill her kids and this asshole leaves them alone with her.
Guest Felonies! Posted July 26, 2006 Report Posted July 26, 2006 Great, now TEXAS has went pussy. What state of insanely psychotic death penalty loving people do we have now?!?! I think Utah still has death by firing squad on the books! I just know that a certain someone will come in here and say that she should be rehabilitated, and let out in 10 years. I'm sure you know who I'm talking about. No, I don't. You have to be all cryptic and shit, by like bolding certain letters and stuff.
snuffbox Posted July 26, 2006 Report Posted July 26, 2006 She should do like this Taiwanese faggot did a couple of years ago and just hang herself in shame. She must be pretty 'insane' to even be able to live with herself.
Special K Posted July 26, 2006 Report Posted July 26, 2006 Shit, you think that's bad, an inmate here in Washington was sentenced twice to death, then a judge ruled against it because we only had execution by hanging (I think we have the needle too, now) and he was a fat fuck so his head might have come off. Boo hoo hoo. Shit, that's probably why there were so many serial killers in this neck of the woods. Get convicted? Eat a bunch of power bars and you're off the hook!
snuffbox Posted July 26, 2006 Report Posted July 26, 2006 Would it be too cruel/unusual to just let the most pissed off family/friends of the victims beat murderers/rapists to death? Seems like a cheap and effective idea to me. Also, newspeople who call houses to ask victims/survivors about their feelings should also fall under this rule.

Guest Smues Posted July 27, 2006 Report Posted July 27, 2006 Hey I bet she said she was sorry, what else does she need to do???? Shit, you think that's bad, an inmate here in Washington was sentenced twice to death, then a judge ruled against it because we only had execution by hanging (I think we have the needle too, now) and he was a fat fuck so his head might have come off. I sure love when we protect criminals more than victims.

The Amazing Rando Posted July 27, 2006 Report Posted July 27, 2006 It's the old Richard Pryor bit... the preacher... "We apologize about last week's baptising. Nobody told me they had asthma. I only held them under for a little bit..." (paraphrasing)
Guest Posted July 27, 2006 Report Posted July 27, 2006 No, I don't. You have to be all cryptic and shit, by like bolding certain letters and stuff. Ok. I just know that a certain someone will come in here and say that she should be rehabilitated, and let out in 10 years. I'm sure you know who I'm talking about. I did the best with the letters I had originally provided.
Guest Overworked Posted July 27, 2006 Report Posted July 27, 2006 Whatever rehabilitation is needed, however depressed nor circumstances built over time that caused her to do it, nothing erases that sane or not, she not only drowned her younger children, she actually Chased down her older ones to do the same. If tender hearted people that so relate with her........state can give her the insanity way out, then she needs to be put in a psych ward where people stare at her through a small window for the rest of her days.
The Amazing Rando Posted July 27, 2006 Report Posted July 27, 2006 I still laugh at the fact they were all named with biblical names, including a Noah.
Dobbs 3K Posted July 27, 2006 Report Posted July 27, 2006 They were interviewing her husband yesterday on TV, and he said that "she posed no threat to society." What a crock. She killed five children. I sure don't want her breathing any free air.
Danville_Wrestling Posted July 27, 2006 Report Posted July 27, 2006 Yea Russ Yates makes me sick. He said something along the lines yesterday on the courthouse steps that "no crime has been committed that warrants the death penalty or life imprisonment." WTF?!?! I'm like Nancy Grace (*shudders*) on this one in the fact that Russ can't have his cake and eat it too. He says that he knew his wife was a psycho HOWEVER he impregnated her five times and then left his kids along with her? In my opinion he is just as guilty as his former wife on this one. I just don't understand how any person could be temporarily insane long enough to kill five kids. You'd think that after maybe the second or third one someone might snap out of it or something. I don't buy this insanity defense for jack.
