strummer Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 Linse Lather Repeat. The Mets get a ton of runners on against Dontrelle Willis but can't get the big hit (including multiple double plays). Heilman blows up in the 8th and Dontrelle is 10-2 lifetime against the Mets
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 Cole Hamels lookin' awesome against St. Louis, Phils up 3-0 bottom 4.
Bruiser Chong Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 I regret benching him. And I'll just jinx it now and point out Hamels and Maddux are both throwing no-hitters. Never mind, Hamels just gave up a single.
Bruiser Chong Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 ESPN's got a hold of the story now, so it should be any batter Maddux gives up a hit.
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 Maddux is all "7th inning? I haven't seen one of those in a while." Hope he does it.
Guest NYankees Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 What are the odds that the Indians blow the game in the bottom of the ninth? I am guessing 1/1 odds.
Guest NYankees Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 ESPN's got a hold of the story now, so it should be any batter Maddux gives up a hit. I was thinking the same exact thing.
strummer Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 after the in-game update did anyone else notice that Buck Martinez said the Reds were a "free swinging ballclub" The Reds have the second highest OBP in the league
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 Maybe he meant that they like to exchange their wives for other partners.
Guest NYankees Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 after the in-game update did anyone else notice that Buck Martinez said the Reds were a "free swinging ballclub" The Reds have the second highest OBP in the league Buck Martinez is an idiot. Does that answer your question?
Guest NYankees Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 Big FatFuck just missed a game tying homerun. Manny just missed a game tying homerun.
bob_barron Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 Big FatFuck? Come on, do better. That's almost as bad as Chris Resuckma
Bruiser Chong Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 Big FatFuck just missed a game tying homerun. Manny just missed a game tying homerun. You should probably calm down. It's August 3rd. At this rate, you'll be dead by the 21st. If the rain delay lasts too long, I doubt Maddux would be able to go back out. A combined no-no would be the best they could hope for. Of course, if the rain doesn't subside, perhaps they'll call it.
vivalaultra Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 Big FatFuck? Come on, do better. That's almost as bad as Chris Resuckma How about Big Poopy? Is that better? ...I got nothing.
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 Call that game, hopefully put the Phils 2.5 back after tonight, baby.
the max Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 Big FatFuck? You should be banned for even typing that. *gets banned*
bob_barron Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 I'm not going to jinx it, but I hope something good happens, since Maddux has never thrown a certain thing before.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 I'd say Maddux is more likely to be jinxed by having to retire nine batters in a row. The odds of that happening on its own are somewhere around 7%.
bob_barron Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 No, I'm right. Maddux is more likely jinxed by people jinxing him.
Bruiser Chong Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 I'd say Maddux is more likely to be jinxed by having to retire nine batters in a row. The odds of that happening on its own are somewhere around 7%. Oh, you and your silly numbers.
Guest Felonies! Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 Do I even have to point out the pain of Maddux Xing a X-Xer as soon as he leaves the Cubs?
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 Hamels is done, 7 IP, 1 ER, 2 H.....pretty good outing, he's been back on track lately and this was nice to see.
Bruiser Chong Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 Game resumes and Joe Beimel, who replaced Maddux, gives up a hit to the first batter he faces.
Guest Felonies! Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 Aw, and I just got WLW out of Cincinnati to come in.
Guest Princess Leena Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 Do I even have to point out the pain of Maddux Xing a X-Xer as soon as he leaves the Cubs? You lie. You want the Cubs to lose so everyone gets fired.
KingPK Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 Big FatFuck just missed a game tying homerun. Manny just missed a game tying homerun. You should probably calm down. It's August 3rd. At this rate, you'll be dead by the 21st. Besides, it's all going to come down to the 10 or so H2H meetings left. And Javy Lopez is probably going to be relegated to THIRD catcher once Wake comes back (unless he can catch a knuckleball well).
Guest Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 Maddux was perfect, I really doubt he would have given up a hit. There was only one well hit ball the whole game.
Bruiser Chong Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 Why on earth is Ken Griffey Jr. still batting third?
