Well it's week 1 and getting a head start as to make sure everyone gets there picks in for this first week as there's four Thursday games to make picks for. For those new to the contest these threads will be normally posted Sunday nights. Now for this opening week there's the Miami/Florida State game on Monday so even though the week won't be over yet I'll still post the Week 2 thread the Sunday before as to give everyone time to get picks in. Also this week will be the only week I'll send out a reminder for people to get their picks in and I'll probably send that out Tuesday night. Tech seems like they have a knack for playing over their heads in big games, and below their knees in games where they just need to take care of business. I still think the Irish will win, but it's going to be way tighter than people expect, which will result in a cascade of NOTRE DAME IS OVERRATED bullshit from one end, and NOTRE DAME IS A GREAT CLUTCH TEAM WITH HEART AND TRADITION noise from the other. GT's always got tons of talent and if they get a huge national showcase like that at home, they're going to get the job done. As Agent was mentioning, they'll probably screw up against somebody like North Carolina later in the year and they probably won't be a realistic threat in the ACC, but I really think they're gonna take down the Irish. And since all the projections say Notre Dame's defense will be weak, Ball will play a way-too-confident football game. Little does he know that the Irish linebackers will be all over him. Offensively, the Irish should put up a lot of points. Last season, they beat Pitt 42-21 with a new coach and a shaky group of kids. Now, it's the same Charlie Weis with a Heisman caliber quarterback and a squad with high, but well-founded, confidence.
