MrRant 0 Report post Posted August 28, 2006 I missed part of my draft (thought it was 3:30, not 3:00) so this is what I ended up with. Since it picked Alexander on auto, I decide to go ahead and handcuff him by picking up Morris as well. QBs Carson Palmer Daunte Culpepper RB Shaun Alexander Maurice Morris Thomas Jones WR Hines Ward Rod Smith Anquan Boldin Keyshawn Johnson TE Alster Crumpler Erron Kinney K Josh Brown Olindo Mare DEF Miami Denver
Cheech Tremendous 0 Report post Posted August 29, 2006 I picked last in a ten-team league. Due to a login snafu, I missed the first two rounds, and by the time I picked again in the third every respectable RB was off the board. Here's what I ended up with: QB-Matt Hasselbeck QB -Jake Plummer RB-Brian Westbrook RB-Joseph Addai RB-Dominic Rhodes RB-Mike Anderson WR-Reggie Wayne WR-Deion Branch WR-Eddie Kennison WR-Rod Smith WR-Donte Stallworth WR-Roddy White TE-Antonio Gates K-Josh Brown It doesn't look good right now, but I've won the league the past two years. I'm confident I can turn things around.
LaParkaMarka 0 Report post Posted August 29, 2006 Rant: Kinda weird taking both Culpepper and Palmer. Surprised you didn't get Javon Walker as well. If Culpepper has a killer week 1, trade him and either Jones or Smith for a backup QB and an upgrade at WR or RB. You should probably drop Mare and try to find another backup RB as well. Cheech: Plummer has a good Week 1 matchup against the Rams. You can turn him into a mid-level RB...target someone who truggles in Week 1, like a Chester Taylor type. the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted August 29, 2006 Rant: Agree with LaParka. Drop a kicker and get the best remaining RB, probably garbage but you need to stash at least one extra at this point. I would field offers for Palmer. Obviously it would take a big deal, but if someone will give you a good RB for Palmer (maybe package Jones with him to do it) and put him with Alexander you are set. cheech: Yeah, that's a pretty ugly start. Especially if you aren't PPR. With you WR depth I would try to swing a 2-for-1 deal for an upper tier WR and prey someone is stupid foolish to bite. I would probably move Hasselbeck if someone would give up a legitimate no. 2 RB. That said, I have little regard for QBs this year since so many are on the same level. My team from a draft last night. 10 teams, PPR, pick 4, * means keeper eligible for next year Eli Manning (7th round) Vince Young * (11) Tiki Barber (1) Reggie Bush (2) DeShaun Foster (4) Lawrence Maroney (8) Deuce McAllister (9) Randy Moss (3) Santana Moss (5) Chris Chambers (6) Braylon Edwards * (10) Vernon Davis * (12) Ben Watson * (13) Jeff Wilkins * (14) Dallas D * (15)

Conspiracy_Victim 0 Report post Posted August 29, 2006 Unfortunately I'm in a "must keep 2" league and I missed out on the decent backs in a league that emphasized running over passing. Ended up keeping Eli and Chambers and reaching for some RBs. I don't have a very good team this year unless someone (or 2, or 3) have a breakout season. Must carry 2 kickers and defenses for tiebreaker pruposes. QB: Eli Manning (keeper), Brett Favre (12) RB: Ronnie Brown (1), Frank Gore (2), Joseph Addai (6), TJ Duckett (9) WR: Chris Chambers (keeper), Andre Johnson (3), Eddie Kennison (5), Braylon Edwards (7), Michael Jenkins (13), Marcus Robinson (10) TE: Alge Crumpler (4), Joe Klopfenstein (14) K: David Akers (11), Ryan Longwell (16) D/ST: Redskins (8), Falcons (15)
MrRant 0 Report post Posted August 29, 2006 Scoring systems + rounds would be very beneficial in terms of good pick vs. bad... Never see you around anymore. But it's head to head and 15 rounds. I'm probably going to drop Mare, and I am have been looking to dump Jones due to not being sure how long he will start if Benson comes back. Morris I'm keeping as he is a pretty good back and if Shaun suffers the Madden curse, it will be nice to have him.

HarleyQuinn 0 Report post Posted August 29, 2006 Yeah, Rant... Took me a bit but I'm poking my head back in once in a while. Pinboy - The Titans signed Collins and apparently have been trying to trade Volek so that sign bodes well for VY as a starter next season. The big question is if he'll do anything early enough if Eli were to get injured. Love your RB and TE depth though Randy Moss could be risky (but at 3rd round, could be a big steal) if his health permits. CV - I'd see about trading a WR to get slightly better RB depth. Maybe it's just me, but Duckett has never impressed me enough to think he'll ever be more than a spot start 16-18 carry guy in the NFL. The Skins are high on Betts and Duckett could play a similar role there as he did in Atlanta. Rant - There are rumblings, and Kubiak stated, that Dom. Davis may not even make the final 53 man roster in Houston. I'd drop Mare and see if you can grab either Vernand Morency or Wali Lundy for some added depth. Kahran - I like your team a lot. You could put out feelers on D-Jax and see if you can get a RB in case Portis misses more than the first few weeks with his injury.
Conspiracy_Victim 0 Report post Posted August 29, 2006 Yeah I'm hoping Portis' shoulder bothers him until my main backs' off weeks. Then I can get rid of Duckett. I'm trying to trade for Dominic Rhodes (the guy got him the pick before I was going to get him) to backstop Addai in case he loses the starting job (which looks like it may happen soon). You could put out feelers on D-Jax and see if you can get a RB in case Portis misses more than the first few weeks with his injury. Thanks. Any word on whether he is going to play or not? I've seen conflicting reports. My biggest question about a trade is what are the current values of some of the RBs now. At the time of the draft I had everything figured out, but with Parker being the goalline back, Dunn now the guy in Atlanta, and Dominic Davis possibly ending up on IR, what kind of guys should I target with one of my WRs? Or should I just see what people are offering and go from there? PS: I'm worried about Jackson's injury too.

Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted August 30, 2006 Hey, King. You forgot that for the NMB league, you got to "sign" players to your team with your "cash flow". My NMFL (NMB) Team: QB - Big Ben, Bulger WR - C.J., Santana, Driver, Kennison, Keyshawn, Walker RB - Cadillac, Rudi, Bush, Addai TE - Gonzalez, Davis K - Graham DB - M.Brown, K.Rhodes, C.Hope, M.Williams DL - Witherspoon, Dansby, Clark, Brooking This team was good idea at the start, but Bush and Addai both seem to not be starting or having troubles, so now I'm looking weak there. Only missing an elite WR, and between my top 4 guys I should be able to play the matchups very well. Missing ear, your starters look really good, but I'd definitely pick up Moats if you can, Westbrook is fragile. Tominator's team is very nice. Everyone should post how many people in the league. A great team in a 12-man league can look pretty shitty in an 8-person league.
