That Triple Threat match was quite easily the best free TV match Ive seen all year too...not a shared opinion though.

You haven't been watching Smackdown regularly, have you? I liked the Triple Threat too, but there have been at least 7 matches better than it on Smackdown this year.

...and after last night, I would like to say, I officially hate the Miz. Go back to the RW/RR challenges punk.

Also i'd like to add at this point that Matt Hardy and Gregory Helms throw the best punches in WWE. The only person who comes close in the company (on the active roster) is Sabu. (although I disqualify him since he is in the WWECW and not WWE)

Totally agree on Matt Hardy's punches. I noticed this when I was re-watching his Summer Slam 05 unsanctioned match with Edge. I think he might be getting a push soon, because he's looked a lot more motivated in the ring the past couple weeks, having good matches with Kennedy and Helms.

Yeah plus that little colum on WWE.com (I think I read he has one)...but dude Hardy hit Helms with one punch last night that was so nice the crowd "oooh"d in response to it. Just tremendous...like Lawler good.

I just got to finish watching Smackdown (thanks for the posting the new time Hotbutter.) and I enjoyed the show. The Triple Threat match was fucking great. I can't complain about it at all. It was given the right amount of time and left the window open for a re-match between the 3 or some kind of series of matches. There was nothing wrong with that match.

Booker T on the mic while doing the King Booker gimmick is one of the funniest things. Just the way he delivers his statements is awesome.

Smackdown is really keeping the line of storytelling (Entertainment, if you will) and wrestling nice and even, unlike Raw which just shoves the entertainment aspect down your throat. All the titles are seeming important now, Smackdown has the tag divison going again, the U.S. title is being booked like a major title that differant people are after (unlike the I.C. title, which really only has 3 guys in that divison.), the World title feud between Booker and Batista has been intresting, and it looks like the Matt Hardy/ Greg Helms feud can bring the cruiserweight title back to some limelight.

I'm glad Smackdown has been booked like a wrestling show for the past few months.

As good as it is to have the start of a tag division, there's seemingly no cruiserweight division now. London, Kendrick, Noble, and Kash all seem preoccupied in the tag division, leaving only Funaki, Scotty 2 Hotty, and the Mexicools (who are off TV anyway) for Helms to defend against. When's the last time it was defended anyway? I want to say long before GAB.

I watch it every week.

I think he beat one of the Mexicools a couple weeks before GAB.

Gregory Helms' last defense of the Cruiserweight Title (on TV/PPV), was on Smackdown - June/30th/2006, against Super Crazy. The match ended in a "No Contest", after interference from Psicosis. That was 63 days ago. He hasn't defended it since.

Something else about Helms...

I wish they would just announce him as the longest reigning champ in WWE, not "sports entertainment." Danielson, Aires, Strong, and Akiyama have all had longer reigns, but maybe they work for "wrestling" promotions, so they're excluded on that technicality.

I know why Super Crazy is out, but was there even a reason why Psicosis was taken off the road?

I tried to look it up but didn't see any news on him. A Psicosis/Helms feud for the Cruiserweight Title would be off the chart and would really bring the Cruiserweight Division some reconition for a short while. they need to bring him back now.

"A Psicosis/Helms feud for the Cruiserweight Title would be off the chart"

Having seen Psicosis stink up the joint live at One Night Stand 2005 and look really sloppy throughout his Smackdown! run, I have to respectfully decline. I'd rather Helms' reign not be tarnished with such a program.

They need to bring psychosis and super crazy back in masks. Saw a replay of Smackdown, it comes on at odd hours here. Long story short, liked everything but the Guerrero stuff but like somebody said at least it was short. The segment, not Rey. I think Vito is there for JBL to make cracks on.
