That's the biggest reason I'd never want to get into wrestling. They're all like high school kids. On 'roid rage. With enormous egos.

Whenever I go to a wrestling show, I just go around and shake everyone's hand and say hi and introduce myself. I normally don't do it while someone is eating or discussing something with someone else, but its easy to just go up to someone, shake his/her hand and introduce yourself and say hi.

if i'm Batista, i'd perfer a *genuine* standing ovation as opposed to one the boys have to give me. but that's just me.

I've heard Lance Storm talking about a story to do with seats before, as I'm sure others have, and it sums it up really.

mind paraphrasing?

Sure, this is from memory, but these are the main points.

He said that when kids he trains go to WWE for try outs, etc. they're always told by WWE people to watch the other matches on the monitors, and by the monitors, there'll be one or two chairs. Storm's advice is NEVER sit down unless there's at least a couple of spare seats, because otherwise someone older and very well respected, like, say, an Arn Anderson will show up, and out of respect, you're obliged to offer the seat to him. If Arn turns down the seat and chooses to stand, of course he'd be fine with it, but if any of the rest of the boys turn up and see some new kid sitting in the only chair while Arn has to stand, they might get the impression that it is disrespectful, and you can get a whole lot of heat for it.

He also said he tells his kids not to go to catering, because similarly, you're in a no-win situation. He said he'll see, say, Shawn Michaels and HHH (and everyone else) sitting there eating, and even he, as a pretty well known guy won't know whether to interrupt them and say hi, or just ignore them and risk looking rude. So he said for any young guy or unknown, it's an even harder situation. He said you can get heat by not saying anything to people, and the boys will think you're stuck up, or disrespectful. Or you can go and introduce yourself, and they'll think you're arrogant for interrupting them just to do that. I'm pretty sure Lance Storm also said something along the lines of you can't introduce yourself to everyone, so if you do to some people and not others, you can also get heat for that.

When you hear about people like Melina having heat it's because of bullshit like this. Fuck a Randy Orton or Batista if they get mad. They should have to earn respect on a personal level. They shouldn't expect their hand to be shook just because they're a current Super(pushed)star.

I just found out that Im losing my UPN station here on August 21, which means I will miss 4 weeks worth of Smackdown before CW launches September 18th. I've read that its the same scenario in some other big cities where the UPN affiliate wont become the CW affiliate and they are dropping UPN earlier than the CW launches. Smackdown is going to get hit hard in the ratings in late August and most of September. It would almost make sense to put Smackdown on hiatus for a couple of weeks given the roster issues and everything but I doubt it.

That's why I think that many in WWE just don't give a shit enough about SD to really help it out right now all that much. I'd say once things on CW are going just fine we'll be seeing some big changes. Heck, we'll more than likely see a few big things happen on the first episode on CW.

Speaking of Storm I remember the story told his group about not take any shit from Bradshaw and any of his pranks. Or something along those lines. Then Bradshaw found out about it and then backstage on one of the shows Bradshaw got in Storm's face about it and tried to start a fight with him but, Storm walked away and Bradshaw was calling him names afterwards. And then not to long after that is when Storm left the fed.

Batista vs Big Show? Seriously. When the fuck was the last time that the ECW title was defended against an ECW wrestler?

Also, re: grammer. HAH! Nice one WWE-douchebags!

I wouldn't necessarily say it's just "this company". The whole business has this weird "respect" thing going on, which at times is ok, but at times is over stepping the mark, in my opinion.

Juvenile, yes, but that's the way it is. Those that don't want to be part of it should get out and get a 9-5 job. Everybody starting out knows it. Kid Kash bas been in wrestling at least a decade, I'm sure one of you can give the exact year. Those that don't follow it get hazed more than usual, made into locker room/road outcasts, or these days, fined or suspended. Anyone fortunate enough to make it to Stanford should fall in line with whatever's asked or expected, except for the obvious exceptions (Pat Patterson type stuff).

On ECW.com, it looks like the main event will be Sabu vs. Big Show? Where are you hearing about Batista?

The angle will air on SmackDown Friday night, so it hasn't 'happened' yet.

The WWE Championship will be on the line when Cena and Edge meet at SummerSlam. However, this time if Cena wins, even by disqualification, he will win the championship as well. Will Cena finally be able to kill the Rated-R Superstar streak?

Guess that means that Cena wins by countout or Edge loses to Cena for the millionth time. I'll go with the latter with Cena then dropping the belt to HHH @ Survivor Series.

Big Show vs. Batista? I'm not happy because I'd rather see an ECW guy get a shot but they don't have anyone aside from Sabu right now that would be credible enough to challenge. However, it does make the roster look like crap if RAW and SD! guys get called in every week for the main event while everyone else is in the mid-card.

Bullshit. People trying to make a living shouldn't have to put up with that kind of crap. It doesn't fly in the real world and it shouldn't fly in "Stanford" either. They'll be lucky if someone doesn't go full-on postal in the locker room one day.

It would make sense if Heyman would come out and say that the classic ECW guys were more broken down than he had thought (having not seen some of them regularly for an extended period) and so he feels none of them are deserving enough to fight his champion, and has to bring in outsiders to challenge. He can say that it makes him sick to have to go to Vince for good competition, but the ECW guys just aren't worth it anymore.

They should have Lita or Nitro or someone come in the ring and 'hit' Edge with the title and he takes a dive and pretends to be out cold. Edge wins by DQ and looks smart, while JR gets to keep bitching about Cena being screwed again. But of course, WWE probably will ruin the good thing they've got going on with Edge gaining more main event credibility purely by being somebody other than Cena holding the title and Cena getting over again because long-term booking is overrated.

From PWInsider:

I got an email yesterday from a company representing Brooke Hogan, asking me if I wanted to interview her in conjunction with her CD that comes out on September 26. As if her appearing on WWE TV wasn't a big enough tell, it's obvious now that the Hogans' plan is market her new CD to wrestling fans.

Amen. This is a publically traded company. And if it wants to be taken seriously, then the backstage has to grow up.

How long before an Edge DVD?

Kurt Angle doesn't have a DVD. Edge needs to get in line behind Kurt.

Everybody knows that the next person to get a DVD will be Batista, standing ovation not included.
