Guest russogoat Posted September 9, 2006 Report Posted September 9, 2006 Chris Benoit is scheduled to return on the Saturday Smackdown show in West Palm Beach against Sylvester Terkay. I liked this new guy, I don't see why he would be jobbing so soon. Of course he could be going over Benoit but that would be even more of a WTF. Thoughts?
Guest Hotbutter Spoontoaster Posted September 9, 2006 Report Posted September 9, 2006 It's only a House Show? Doesn't really matter.
Guest russogoat Posted September 9, 2006 Report Posted September 9, 2006 Hmm, okay. I didn't realize these guys job on house shows. For example, has Umaga jobbed at one but is still considered undefeated? If Umaga isn't jobbing at house shows, I don't see why Terkay is.. but that's just because I like him more.
Guest Hotbutter Spoontoaster Posted September 9, 2006 Report Posted September 9, 2006 Brock Lesnar jobbed to Bradshaw at a House Show.
Guest russogoat Posted September 9, 2006 Report Posted September 9, 2006 Thanks for the heads up, I've never been to a house show and figured they ran similar to Raw/Smackdown but without any storyline changes happening.
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted September 9, 2006 Report Posted September 9, 2006 This comment warrants a thread.
Enigma Posted September 9, 2006 Report Posted September 9, 2006 Wow, what a shocking comment from the wannabe mod.
Guest Godlike Posted September 9, 2006 Report Posted September 9, 2006 I think it's a bit earlier to bury Terkay, but fake MMA in wrestling doesn't work and audiences are not convinced by it. He has displayed no personality as such yet...okay, yeah, he'll be jobbin' soon. Benoits return warrants a thread, methinks. What's in store for the future career of the Rabid Wolverine?
Aero Posted September 9, 2006 Report Posted September 9, 2006 Brock Lesnar jobbed to Bradshaw at a House Show. Muhammad Hassan jobbed to Jericho at a Royal Rumble qualifying match at a house show.
Guest jm29195 Posted September 9, 2006 Report Posted September 9, 2006 Muhammad Hassan jobbed to Jericho at a Royal Rumble qualifying match at a house show. So why was he in it then? Did he get another match?
k thx Posted September 9, 2006 Report Posted September 9, 2006 There were a few people in multiple matches for the Royal Rumble on House Shows.
SamoaRowe Posted September 9, 2006 Report Posted September 9, 2006 Brock Lesnar also jobbed to Lance Storm in dark matches. Kurt Angle jobbed to Val Venis in the main event of a house show once. Just back in June, Mr. Kennedy jobbed to Tatanka at a show I went to, and he's the U.S. Champion now. Besides, who says Terkay is definitly losing to Benoit? Benoit has a track record of having to be the guy to give the rub to whatever mid-carder of the week that Smackdown is pushing.
k thx Posted September 9, 2006 Report Posted September 9, 2006 The most likely explaination is that they're looking at a Terkay/Benoit feud.
Lt. Al Giardello Posted September 9, 2006 Report Posted September 9, 2006 Shelton Benjamin jobbed to Stevie Richards in a dark match.
SamoaRowe Posted September 9, 2006 Report Posted September 9, 2006 The first time I ever saw (or heard of) Shelton Benjamin, he did a job to Justin Credible in the dark match at the first Raw I ever went to.
haws bah gawd Posted September 10, 2006 Report Posted September 10, 2006 Didn't Goldberg job to HECTOR FUCKING GUERRERO during his early days of WCW?
uhftv Posted September 10, 2006 Report Posted September 10, 2006 I've wanted like Terkay but his matches dont impress me and he's gettin up there in age. Someone suggested that his gimmick is intentionally to make mma look bad by having these podding matches like the slowest Big John Studd matches I've ever seen. I dont know if that's true, but I dont see where his character is going. The announcers put his over but he's not exactly getting an Umaga push, and the only name guy he's beat is Matt Hardy. And he's got a manager who doesnt have anything to say. Speaking of which what's gonna happen to Elijah? I still have no idea if he's that much better in the ring than Terkay.
slimm44 Posted September 10, 2006 Report Posted September 10, 2006 It could also end by DQ/Count out, and the card is usually changed the day of the show. But the good news out of this is Benoit returning, maybe a best of 7 for the world title vs. Booker
evilhomer Posted September 12, 2006 Report Posted September 12, 2006 If it doesn't happen on tv, it didn't happen. They job on house shows so that management can see how well they lose.
