AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2007 Splatterhouse, on the other hand, is an example of a game that gets by on total gimmick. The cheesy B-movie slasher flick feel makes the whole game. Without it, nobody would have looked twice at the game. Still fun, though I wish it had multiplayer. The sequels were far superior. Single-plane side-scrolling beat 'em up violence gets rather dull without excellent level designs or other sorts of gimmicks. Super Paper Mario is one of the funniest games I've ever played. Guest Queen Leelee Report post Posted April 14, 2007 So, we've had our 1st Wiimote incident. Hubby was bowling, and let 'er fly. Make a big dent in the wall, and the Wiimote disintegrated... battery cover, batteries flying everywhere, a nice gouge in the front of it. And it still works perfectly. AlexPuma 0 Report post Posted April 15, 2007 Apparently Bonk's Revenge is rumored to come out next Monday. I'll pick that up with my remaining 700 points. Bonk's Adventure ruled. The sequels were far superior. Single-plane side-scrolling beat 'em up violence gets rather dull without excellent level designs or other sorts of gimmicks. I agree that Splatterhouse would be way more fun with more than one player and also if it just didn't feel like Kung-Fu with blood and B-grade horror characters. I might wait and try the sequels when they come out, I only got the game because my one friend was pegging me to buy it for ages and I got to shut him up finally. The lesson: Friends don't force friends to buy mediocre VC games.

Boner Kawanger 0 Report post Posted April 15, 2007 I was able to get a remote charging station (the Nyko one) from Circuit City today. It was the first time I'd seen any in stores. They had three different kinds, two that charged two remotes at once and one with just one dock (ironic, ain't it?). They also had a few remotes, nunchuks, and classic controllers. So if you're looking for accessories, maybe your local Circuit City got a shipment in today.

dubq 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2007 So rather than going through 73 pages - what's the region locking like with the Wii? Can I play Japanese games on a North American system, or vice versa?

dubq 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2007 D'oh. I was hoping that I'd heard region free before, but I guess I was wrong. Wow, they have mods for the Wii already? I think that once I get back from Tokyo in a few weeks, I'm just gonna buckle and ebay a Wii. There are lots of people in my area selling them for only about $50 more than what I'd pay including tax from a store. I'm sick of waiting!!

Perrin Kaplan said it but she was mistaken. I think modchips for Wii hit either in or just before January.

Guest Smues Report post Posted April 16, 2007 Yay more Bonk. I'm amazed they actually released the two cool Bonk games first rather than starting out with Air Zonk or whatever the flying Bonk game was called.
AlexPuma 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2007 I picked up Bonk's Revenge with no hesitation after having so much fun with Bonk's Adventure. From the little bit I played of it, it's even better than the first one. I fully support a comeback for the hard-headed caveboy.

AlexPuma 0 Report post Posted April 17, 2007 I have Bonk's Revenge on Game Boy. Is there much of a difference? I'll quickly download the ROM (just to try it) and I'll get back to you soon. EDIT: Well, apparently they are both completely different games. I've only played about two stages of each keep in mind. I need to actually finish the first Bonk game yet before I play the second one more. These links can help you compare. http://bonkzonk.com/game.ktn?Game=pcg2 - TG16 version http://bonkzonk.com/game.ktn?Game=gbg2 - Gameboy/Super Gameboy version

Quoted for emphasis and agreement. Some guy working in the games section of HMV told me that Nintendo has told them that they're trying to just build up a HUGE stock and then release them all at once so that there's a lot going to each store instead of the usual 10-20, or whatever lower number the stores normally get. Don't know how true it is. But thought it was worth mentioning.

However, check out his Friday the 13th review for some actual goodness. PUNCH OUT!!! rules. Sandman (from Philadelphia, PA, eh?) is gonna taste the mat soon enough. EricMM 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2007 Of course people think that. People just cannot understand that Ninty was unprepared for such a demand, and didn't work to set up production for this much demand? That Nintendo probably would have to pay more money to set up whole new production lines?
