The PWI 500 is the laziest list ever put together.

 

I'll agree with this, especially when it comes to foreign wrestlers. It's like they pick 2 or 3 big names to throw in the top 10, then stop caring. How did Nakajima rank above Misawa in kayfabe?

PWI favored anybody over the WWF because McMahon cut off all access. That was the reason for the made up wrestling psychologists, experts, etc that discussed the WWF. They couldn't just quit saying what was happening with Hogan, Piper and the rest.

Yeah, that's why NWA guys were frequently named "wrestler of the year" etc., as well.
