Does no one else watch this show?

I thought the season premiere was solid if uneventful. I was praying Izzy would somehow be taken off as a main character but so much for that.

Very solid, yes... I think the direction Bailey's character is taking right now is really intriguing. The Derek/Meredith thing is good, and I like the (a little bit more) assertive George. But, the plague? really?

RATINGS UPSET: ABC's 'Grey's Anatomy' season opener out-rates CBS 'CSI'... 17.1 rating/25 share to 14.9 rating/22 share... ABC WINS THURSDAY NIGHT, CBS SHOW, NBC IN DISTANT THIRD...

That doesn't surprise me but only because you have to realize Grey's went into this season being moved to a new timeslot and they were coming off a cliffhanger ending. CSI is in season six in the same spot it's always been in, and worked a standalone show. CSI also had a way better show this week (and a to be continued ending) so next week's ratings will prove very interesting.

Gabriel; personally I'm not a fan of the softer Bailey. The writing has slowly reduced her from hilarious nazi into nurturing mother (both literally and figureatively to the interns). At this point, her role could be played by anyone. Bah...

Plague = WTF?

Did Burke get full use of his hands back?

Im intrigued by the disdain she's feeling for Izzy and the fallability shes having over not nipping Izzy's role with Denny in the bud when she should have. I think it will end up with Bailey being even more nazi-esque. Bravo for the high ratings, too.

Catherine Heigl's fantastic rack.

QFT

Anyway, the writing is smart, the characters are likeable for the mostpart (George > *), and I invested too much time downloading the previous two seasons in the summer not to watch it now.

What is the appeal of this show.

I've heard that it's a chick show, but I couldn't care less to see it. I'd rather watch Gilmore Girls. And I hate Gilmore Girls.

It's just ER with a better balance of relationship drama and medical drama and some great comedy spots, IMO. I don't really think it's a chick show, to be honest. Most of the people that I know who watch it are couples.

The writing is absolute garbage with some quippy one-liners to mask the complete idiocy of most of the characters. It's like some infernal cocktail of ER and Gilmore Girls, served at Hooters.

The first season was somewhat tolerable because the Gilmore factor was high, but once they decided to break out Code:Black for the Super Bowl and have Izzy's storyline almost single-handedly compromise every character in the cast, there was really no coming back. That second season finale might as well be under the Wikipedia explanation for JumpTheShark.com.

Despite being the eye candy of the show, I can't stand Izzy and like many of you, her storyline with Denny was a completely turn off both as a standalone story and how it encompassed everyone else (into this season as well).

There's too many other characters in the show that I think are great though. George, Bailey and Burke (when they return him to healthy status) are always something to look forward to.

Last night was pretty good. The girl that can't feel pain was a fun storyline. I didn't see the point in giving the guy who got the brain surgery another problem to deal with unless they plan on continuing his story.

Bailey as concerned pseudo mom to Izzy is terrible and makes me sick.

Guest Felonies!
You like a fictional drama because your favorite player has no character flaws??

Must hate the hell outta House. Or any show with any sort of character depth.

Yes. I get turned off easily if a character turns me off.

How do you watch this show with Yang and Grey and Sheppard and Addison etc. on it then.

I can't stand Yang, btw, but that may be an extension of hating Sandra Oh as an actor.

Best episode of the season this week. I haven't actually legit laughed out loud at this show since season 1.

I really hope they make Bailey into super bitch after she realized what Chrinstina had done with the O.R. board. She's let all her interns get away with so much shit.

Alex will blackmail the plastic surgeon into becoming his intern. Bet it.
