Guest Felonies! Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 Why would you even wear a hat like that, though? Having some big patch on the side fucks up the symmetry, and wearing a baseball hat without looking ridiculous hasn't been getting any easier thanks to black people. EDIT: or Bob Barron. EDIT 2: Frat boys, too
Open the Muggy Gate Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 We were talking about the game yesterday while I was playing poker, and I told them the Tigers were gonna win it... and lo and behold, I've never heard so many bias people in my life. I figured they were all Cardinals fans, but they shit all over Detroit even though half of them didn't even watch the ALCS! After going through all the stats about the Tigers including their fucking awesome picthing, their response to my rant... "The Cardnials will win." And one is on the board!
Mik Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 I don't know. I was just pumped my team won the world series so I went on a spending spree on mlb.com. I still wear the hat every now and then but not very often.

Muggy, you're in Cardinal territory, so I don't really know what you expect here. Also, "biased." Also, cocks.

Well Cardinal fans are usually the most respected fans, so I figured they would have some fucking sense. I guess not... And SCOTT ROLEN just hit a home run?
Slayer Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 Well Cardinal fans are usually the most respected fans, so I figured they would have some fucking sense. The Wichita newspaper's big sports columnist is a Cardinals fan, and an insufferable jackass. His love for the Cardinals only exacerbates my pre-existing hatred for the team.

Guest Felonies! Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 I mean, I know he's hurt and all, but bear in mind that he would've batted in the game-winning runs on Thursday night if Endy Chavez didn't pull off a ridiculous catch.
The Man in Blak Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 Actually, I'm stunned. Even when Rolen is healthy, he isn't renowned for his ability to get around on the 95+ mph fastballs and here he is, bad shoulder and all, facing Mr. 103 on the Fox Gun.
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 Joe Buck: "I'm sure there are people saying 'Why didn't he let it go foul?'" WHAT?
Guest Felonies! Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 Random thought: Fox should devote less energy to "when the radar gun goes over 95, have it burst into flames! BECAUSE HE'S THROWIN' HEAT BIG BOY!!", and find a place to post a running pitch count.
Bruiser Chong Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 Albert! It's early and the Tigers are certainly more than capable of coming back, but I'd hate to be one of those people who paid $75 for SRO tickets.
Open the Muggy Gate Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 Verlander has something to say about that last inning... FUCK!
Spaceman Spiff Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 Yeah, Timmy McC, the Phillies traded Polanco because they wanted to pick up Urbina. Had nothing to do w/ the fact that Chase Utley was forced to ride the bench behind Polanco.
Bruiser Chong Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 Verlander obviously thinks it's Juan Pierre on first, not Juan Encarnacion.
vivalaultra Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 I just noticed that Ronnie Belliard is rockin' the Afro-puffs tonite. Sweeeeeeeet~!
Bruiser Chong Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 Verlander's weakness is being exposed once again: lots of strikeouts and deep at-bats have him at over 80 pitches through five.
2GOLD Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 The Tigers were expected to win the World Series in three games? Wow, thats impressive. How does that work Buck? The Tigers bullpen really needs to shut the door here or the Cards are going to win Game 1 in a walk.
Bruiser Chong Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 Considering how booming this park has been during the postseason, it's just ungodly dead right now.
2GOLD Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 Considering how booming this park has been during the postseason, it's just ungodly dead right now. Hard to be excited when everyone told you that you were going to win the World Series in a walk and suddenly you are down 5-1 with runners on second and third. Maybe the city has given up on game 1 already? Error by Inge, two runs score, 7-1 Cards with a runner on second. This is getting bad now.
Guest Smues Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 Fuck I hate God Bless America, and this new tradition of televising it in the playoffs.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 This is an example of EVERYTHING that is wrong with this "tradition." Over-singing, blatent promotion, mindless patriotism.
Open the Muggy Gate Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 USA! USA! USA! I wish the Toronto Blue Jays were in the Series now.
Bruiser Chong Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 That one falls into the category of believers that think singing REALLY loud = good singing. She basically went screamo on that last line.
