I like Jay's new album. I think it's impossible for the guy to live up to people's expectations. It'sone of those albums that will grow on you after you give it time. It doesn't have the same great production as the Black Album did, but it's nothing to be sneezed at.

way to accept mediocrity from a man who claims to be the "greatest rapper alive". or is that lil wayne? the album sucks. quit sprucing it up.

Jay-Z's career is over and he looks like a camel. Jim Jones has made him look like a foolish bitch for the last couple of weeks. I expect Jay to run and hide behind Nas and beg him to put out a diss record becuase Dipset owns his bitch ass. 2 days ago Jay-Z put out a track called "Brooklyn" dissing Dipset and last night Jim Jones and Juelz Santana added two verses to the track and just shred him to pieces.

Didn't really like this album too much.

Only notable track for me was Kingdom Come, and that was just because of the beat. Jay's pretty much turned into a rich man's rapper, and he phones it in a lot more on a "return album" than he probably should have.

His "mediocrity" is better than alot of other rappers doing their best. How is Dipset ending Jay's career? He said it himself, the only time any of them went platinum was when they were wearing his chain. Jay-Z has been going platinum for 10 years now and what have Jim Jones albums been doing? You guys are being way too hard on this album just because it's Jay-Z. On this album he addresses alot of things people have questioned him about. The only songs that I don't like are the Beyonce song and the Neptunes song. I like the introduction, Kingdom Come, Lost Ones, Trouble, Dig A Hole, Minority Report and Beach Chair. That's about how many songs I liked from the Black Album when I first heard it and the rest of the songs grew on me. Show Me What You Got is really a song for girls and the only way you'd really like it is if you listen to it around girls. Oh My God I don't hate or love, but I would probably like it better if it had a good hook. Do U Wanna Ride is just a song that I don't really relate to but it's not a bad song. 30 Something is pretty mediocre to me but I like the nostalgic feeling of I Made It. That's a pretty solid album to me. It might now be an album where every song is a single, albums like that don't really have alot of staying power. Reasonable Doubt had the underdog feeling of a debut album to it. 10 years later, it's still a good album but considering his acomplishments it has historical significance with respect to his career. The Black Album was a good way to go out, but this is his life after retirement CD. He steppped away from rapping and started a new chapter in his life. He ended his affiliation with his career-long business partner, tried to settle down with Beyonce and became President of Def Jam. This album is about growing and moving on. He's doing all of the things that he said he was going to do. This album is nothing to sneeze at.

backing up and going off topic: Tupac's first two albums "2Pacalypse Now" and "Strictly For My N.I.G.G.A.Z." were great and it's a shame they are always forgotten when mentioning his music.

also off topic, put down Jay-Z and pick up Techn9ne's new album "Everready"...good stuff going on there.

This album got killed by allmusic.com and it seems like everything there gets 4 stars. Between that and the reviews I've been hearing, this might be the first Jay-Z album that I skip. When he's at his best (Blueprint, Black Album, Reasonable Doubt) there is no one better, but when he gets complacent look out (Blueprint 2, Vol. 3).

This is the most ridiculous thing I have read in a long time.

A very long time.

Jim Jones can't rip anyone to shreds. very few people suck as much as he does.

Plus...seroiusly...he sounds like the cowardly lion. And that we fly high song sucks.

Guest Felonies!

He's right about the camel thing, though. I've seen smaller lips in minstrel shows.

Good thing I bootlegged this CD and didnt waste my cash buying this.

When you cant compete in a lyrical battle with a washed-up Cam'Ron, that means you need hang up the mic.

He had a great verse on Black Republican though(not as good as Nas, but still really good none the less), but overall Kingdom Come was straight garbage, hell Killa Season was better.

The Game needs to kill Jay Z, ASAP.

A Game/Dipset collab on how Jay should retire would be fuckin tits.

He was done when Cam called him out on wearing open-toed sandals with jeans. You can't come back from something like that.

Dipset doesn't mean anything to anyone. Jay will outsell ALL of them in the first week.

Seriously. He will sell more in his first week than Cam, Jim Jones, Hell Rell, and JR Writer sold in all. Add in Juelz and it will take another week. So in 2 weeks, he will outsell all the guys in this crew saying he is irrelevant.

I don't think anybody in Dipset thinks Jay is irrelevant, they aren't retards and realize that he's still a huge figure in the industry. They just want him to retire because he's embarassing himself. Whatever. Dipset can still walk around most NYC burroughs and not worry about haters. Jay can't say the same thing.

Oh god, you sound like a typical G-Unit fan, talking about record sales.

I ain't a Dipset fan, but I gotta admit, Cam did beat Jay lyrically, Diggin A Hole was just plain wack and soft...

"He's coming outta retirement/Jordan on the Wizards" that one line killed Jigga IMO.

even tupac is iffy. as a youngster i loved tupac. but he doesn't really have the trach record to be put in a category with others. all eyez on me, like nearly ever double album, had tons of filler. and death row filler is awful. with angry rapper chicks, castrated r & b, and generic g-funk ripoffs. the idea of tupac is better than the real tupac.

I'd like to think that if Rakim had been murdered, people would actually be digging up his corpse and performing fellatio on it.

nah. rakim would be like big l. tupac was a really public figure before dying. but he wasn't necessarily revered for his musical output.

What they have done to 2Pac's imagine after he died really hurts his legacy in some peoples minds. It's quite ashame, because 2Pac was really a masterful artist IMO.

Me Against The World was an amazing CD.

Cam's disses to Jay-z sucks. This dude sat there and insulted another dudes fashion for 5 minutes and compared to his, went to the tired "Ill shoot your ass" bullshit, and used that weak ass horrible ass flow that he has been using for years now. Dude sucks, its that simple and there isn't a shortage of people who agree with that statement. ANd for all his suckage, he is still better than Jim fucking Jones. He has all the lyrical skill of Puffy. That muthafucker SUCKS. For you to be talking about someone needs to retire, you might, I don't know, need to be relevant in the industry and not considered a shitty rapper. this isn't "I am better than you because I sell more" crap that 50 trys to pull. This is the equivilant of Jerome James or Drew Gooden telling Shaq that he needs to retire this past offseason. Guys that everyone knows sucks (Cam, Jim Jones, Hell Rell) or a guy that people have accepted is alright at best (Juelz, JR Writer) telling a guy that just won the championship he needs to sit down.

Let someone worth a shit come at Jay, and fine, you got something, but you can't suck that much and expect anyone to believe you are winning anything. Except for people that just want to hate on the more popular guy.

Is this album mediocre? Yes. Only 6 good tracks on the album sez I and that is arguable. Cam put out one good album a LONG time ago and everything since has been worse than this Jay album. Everything Jim Jones has done has sucked. Hows about someone putting out something decent this in the last 6-7 years having something to say?

Well...what is there to hate on in Dipset.

"Yall just mad cause your Escalade ain't pink as mine. Yall can suck my dick, no homo."

People hate on people because they have shit. This silly dudes walk around talking about smell me and no homo(which ironically is the gayest shit in the history of the world).

And they still are the ones that got their asses beat at the rucker.

"No Homo" is most gayest shit ever heard, when their "leader" Cam'ron likes wearing pink clothing. What makes you think that you saying gay shit, its going to make me forget or void what you said by saying "No Homo." The dipset movement boggles the mind.

Man its nothing but negative toward Jay, dont understand it. Kingdome come wasnt Blueprint or anything but its still better than most anything anyone else could put out, and to anyone that says Game is a good rapper is just........dumb. Dudes entire career is built off 50 and name dropping, now THAT dude is trash

Have you even HEARD The Docters Advocate? He has basically cutdown the name dropping big time.

Doctors Advocate is one of the better albums of the year honestly. ANd he stop dropping names. He only drops Dre's name as he is apparently in love with him.

But yeah, DA is better than Kingdom Come, but I have to agree it isn't half as bad as people are pretending. It is a medeocrie album just like most stuff that comes out and people were expecting more.
