Cheech Tremendous 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2007 Here is a sample wonderlic test so you can see some of the questions they ask. Nothing ridiculously hard, but if you're abyssmal at math, your score could get pretty low. http://espn.go.com/page2/s/closer/020228test.html I got them all right in about 2 minutes. If that isn't anything like the real Wonderlic, I wouldn't touch anyone who got under a 20. I don't care how many times they can bench 225 or how fast they run the 40. Vampiro69 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2007 Geez, those are easy questions. To get an 8 you must be borderline mentally retarded.
Just John 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2007 Well, yeah, for those of us who are in/were in/going to be in college for academic purposes, the test seems like a joke. I mean, I ran through the samples in about 3 minutes, but I can see where some people would really suck on it. It reminded me of when I took the marine aptitude test or whatever they call that thing they give you when you get suckered into an attempted recruitment. You'd be surprised how dumb some people are, and a good number of football players aren't around college campuses for their academic proficiency. Just ask about some of their ACT scores... Guest Oedipus Rex Report post Posted February 28, 2007 Brian Griese notched an impressive 39 on his. Unsurprisingly, this was not one of the reasons cited by Chicago sports talk radio meatballs for replacing Rex Grossman. Open the Muggy Gate 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2007 Jamal Lewis got cut. Where the hell did that come from?
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted February 28, 2007 There's been talk about it for a while in this thread and others, actually. If these crazy Pack fans really wanted to take Ted Ginn, Jr. in the first round (which I don't think is a good idea) then picking up Jamal Lewis and running him as a bruiser 1st and 2nd down back with Green on 3rd downs wouldn't be so bad. It'd take the load off Jamal and Green both, they'd work well as a committee. `Course, if they took on trading Randy Moss (apparently the rumors are heating up now, though I don't know WHO the hell the Packers would be giving up for him..) we'd have ourselves some character issues probably. The fans might not be cool with Moss either, considering the mooning incident and all.. but for arguably the best WR in the game, especially deep, in what is probably Favre's last year.. I don't know.
Cheech Tremendous 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2007 Ahman Green is a much better back as this point than Jamal Lewis. I don't think picking him up would do the Pack any good.
Failed Bridge 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2007 Green and Lewis are basically the same type of back, and I feel Torry Holt is the best WR in the game personally.
Failed Bridge 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2007 Houston releases WR Eric Moulds and the Redskins release TE Christian Fauria. If Troy Brown does retire then I could see the Pats make a run at Moulds.
Guest Queen Leelee Report post Posted February 28, 2007 Moulds isn't the type of guy Belichick wants.
Failed Bridge 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2007 they pursued him the past two seasons so I would say they obviously feel he does fit what they want.
Guest Queen Leelee Report post Posted February 28, 2007 I really doubt the Pats would have taken him 2 years ago. Now that he's probably cheap, I guess it's possible. But, he's still a bad guy and a pain in the ass. I'm shocked by the Lewis cut, just because the Ravens kept sticking with him the last 2 years despite him obviously not being the back he used to be. Cheech Tremendous 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2007 I'm shocked by the Lewis cut, just because the Ravens kept sticking with him the last 2 years despite him obviously not being the back he used to be. He was due a $5 million roster bonus. There's no reason to keep him when replacements are cheaper. In the end, he'll probably re-sign with the Ravens for less money. Failed Bridge 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2007 he was cut last year too and ended up with the Ravens, so who knows.
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2007 Yeah, because no one else wanted his lame ass after the pathetic 2005 season he had. Seriously. Musa Smith is capable enough to be the starter. If they really want to save more salary cap money or whatever they should dump Mike Anderson as he pretty much didnt do anything but sit on the bench and collect a paycheck when he should have been in there running when Jamal Lewis was struggling. They need to draft the RB out of Penn St (whose name escapes me at the time)..

Guest Tzar Lysergic Report post Posted March 1, 2007 It's a pretty good draft at RB anyway. Even if they don't pick up someone excellent, there'll be enough journeyman guys out there pissed to lose their spot to a rookie.
Failed Bridge 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2007 via Rotoworld - The Chargers will extend the first- and third-round tender to restricted free agent running back Michael Turner. "I'd just feel better to have him in '07," GM A.J. Smith said. "If anything happens to LT – God Almighty! – that he gets hurt." If Turner, who can negotiate with teams, can't work out a deal, he'll be paid $2.35 million in 2007. By giving him the highest possible tender, San Diego has made it utterly impossible for Turner to sign a contract as a restricted free agent. - Bears signed head coach Lovie Smith to a four-year contract extension and general manager Jerry Angelo to a deal through the 2013 season. Smith, scheduled to make $1.45 million in 2007, gets a long-overdue extension through 2011. FOXSports.com's Jay Glazer says Smith's deal will pay him $22.5 million, which works out to $5.5 million-per-year. - NFL Network's Adam Schefter believes the Bills will be willing to part ways with Willis McGahee in exchange for a first-day pick. Since coach Dick Jauron admitted he was on the market on Tuesday, there have been whispers that Buffalo would trade McGahee for a third-round selection. The Bills don't have any realistic replacements on their current roster, so they'd need to sign or draft their next starting tailback.
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted March 1, 2007 A THIRD ROUNDER for McGahee? Oh, you've got to be fucking kidding me. What a bargain. Someone (HEY, TED THOMPSON) better pounce on this quick.
naiwf 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2007 The Giants NEED to make that deal.

Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2007 I don't understand the Bills reasoning here...maybe they feel that bum leg of his will shorten his lifespan in the league and they saw something that made them think they better move on? I haven't heard of any behind the scenes stuff like him being an asshole or anything. The last thing that offense needs is to LOSE weapons.
Failed Bridge 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2007 McGahee has slammed the Buffalo area repeatedly, and at one point said "I wouldn't mind seeing this organisation moved to Toronto. Sure its a little further north but at least its interesting". That coupled with his 3.8ypc average have gotten the Bills to thinking its time for him to move on, and why not? This up-coming draft will have a few good running backs on Day 1. If the Bills can get a third round pick for him then they could probably grab Marshawn Lynch in round 1 or Tony Hunt in round 2 and still address other needs without missing a beat. USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2007 Why is Tony Hunt a hot commodity? I haven't seen him do anything impressive (my Penn State game-viewing has been very limited, so... this is a real question).
Failed Bridge 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2007 he's being compared alot to Larry Johnson (another Penn St. product) in terms of bruiser back capabilities...it just doesn't seem like he can break away to the outside very well at the moment. Larry Johnson couldn't do that either when he first hit the NFL though.
USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2007 Makes sense, I suppose. Every team except maybe San Diego would love to have their own Larry Johnson.

Failed Bridge 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2007 via rotoworld - Broncos acquired CB Dre Bly for Tatum Bell, T George Foster, and a draft pick. It's believed to be a fifth-rounder. The deal becomes official Friday. No one works the trade market better than Mike Shanahan and GM Ted Sundquist. They got a Pro Bowl quality player at a position of need in exchange for spare parts they weren't going to use. Champ Bailey, Bly, and Dominique Foxworth will make a great corner trio, and according to the NFL Network, Bly has already been signed to a long-term deal.
