Guest Princess Leena Report post Posted February 9, 2007 The only valuable player on the Vikings' offense would be Williamson, and Arizona obviously has no need for him. It's bullshit. Carry on.
Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2007 Rumor out of the St. Paul Pioneer Press has the Vikings offering the Cardinals the 7th overall pick plus an undisclosed player or two for WR Larry Fitzgerald. As a Cardinals fan I hope this is not true. That can't possibly be true. Fitzgerald is one of the best young receivers in the game and one of the reasons that offense will be nearly unstoppable if they can build a line. They would have to be completely morons. THEY ARE WHO WE THOUGHT THEY WERE!
Slayer 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2007 Cris Carter. Forget Randy Moss, this is the real best Vikings player of all-time. Tark is the greatest Viking of all time Carter is a close second. Moss is a tough call. Yeah he put up legendary numbers during his seven seasons in MN, but he's really crapped out now. Tarkenton was a great player and everything, but playoff misery and spending five of his prime seasons as a Giant put him below Carter. Playoff misery? He did help lead the team to three Super Bowls, and when he retired he held all the major QB records (TDs, yards, completions). Plus he was the original running QB. I can't really argue with the Giants issue, but we can thank Norm Van Brocklin for shipping him off right before he got fired. Thankfully Grant had the sense to bring him back. I'd say neither. Jim Marshall is by far the penultimate Viking. He's the second-best Viking? Marshall did have the Iron Man record, but Alan Page was the best of the PPE. assorted Vikings bad memories Do you enjoy kicking puppies in your spare time, Leo? BTW, the Vikings did win the last NFL Championship in '69 (the same NFL championship which GB had 9 of before the SB-era)... unfortunately that was forgotten thanks to losing in the SB to the friggin Chiefs, but they're not totally devoid of a title. Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2007 One big problem with Williamson he can't catch the ball. Alan Page is the best Viking of all-time. Followed by Randall McDaniel.
Failed Bridge 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2007 Another reason why the Fitzgerald thing is complete horseshit is due to the cap hit the Cards would take unloading him.

Most people don't really count that one because of the Super Bowl loss. Certainly by Super Bowl IV, that game had surpassed the NFL Championship in stature with the merger occurring for the next season. Even if you want to say that the championships that Green Bay won during the existence of the AFL are 'disputed', that still leaves them tied with Chicago overall with 9 Championships (6 NFL titles pre-AFL and 3 Super Bowls). Even the Lions managed 4 NFL Championships. Let's face it, the Vikings aren't exactly the most successful franchise in the league when it comes to winning championships. They are better than the likes of the Saints and Falcons, but that isn't saying much. No matter how good they are, they always seem to find a way to lose. The 1998 NFC Championship is the defining moment of the franchise, much in the same way Norwood is for Buffalo. That's not a good thing.
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted February 9, 2007 And if you DO count the "disputed" titles, Green Bay has the most in the league. And I'm sure Lombardi's Packers would've smashed whatever wimpy expansion franchise would limp out of the AFL. Things were much more lopsided in those days. Guest Princess Leena Report post Posted February 9, 2007 Buffalo won the AFL the year before the Super Bowl started. And obviously, the Bills would have crushed whatever NFL team won that year.
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted February 9, 2007 Right, because Buffalo has always done so well against NFL/NFC teams in championship games.

Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted February 12, 2007 Indeed. You don't see hits like that in the Pro Bowl, I wonder if the other players were pissed at Sean Taylor for playing hard like that. Then again, you know, neither guy's team made the playoffs, so sitting at home for a couple months would make someone antsy to go and smash someone on the field, even if for just one game. Props to Brian Moorman for congratulating Taylor on the hit right afterwards.
Cheech Tremendous 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2007 I turned on the Pro Bowl for a little bit the other day and VINCE YOUNG was playing quarterback. I had to rub my eyes a few times when I saw that one. So by the time the game rolls around, do they just start inviting anyone who'll show up? Young was okay for a rookie, but Pro Bowler? naiwf 0 Report post Posted February 13, 2007 So the Giants cut LaVar Arrington, Carlos Emmons AND Luke Petitgout today. I don't know how they plan to replace that many starters and how much of a cap hit they're taking because of it, but I really don't like the Petitgout decision. Left tackles don't grow on trees. I'm sure most players are doing their usual macho bullshit of "LOLZ HES JUST A KICKER FAG", but if you're gonna have that stuff happen, we might as well cancel the Pro Bowl since nobody will want to play it.
