Guest Felonies! Report post Posted November 27, 2006 I know we're not supposed to say it 'round here lest we be called football-retarded dopes, but Grossman just cost the Bears this game.
teke184 0 Report post Posted November 27, 2006 The Super Chargers nearly lost to the friggin' Raiders. I'd say the Ravens are looking the best of everyone right now. As long as they can keep putting up points, they're fine.

Just John 0 Report post Posted November 27, 2006 Interesting late games today, even if two of them looked very unappealing on paper. Two more turnovers end the Bears/Pats slop-fest, giving the Pats a huge win. Oakland was about 10 minutes from pulling the biggest upset of the season until they remembered they're Oakland. LT is pretty awesome. I like the Titans heart. They don't have the most talented roster, but they've been playing hard every week since Vince Young came in. I'm aware the Giants are filled with underachievers, but give the Titans some credit. Getting 24 points in a quarter is no easy feat. The Titans should be proud, though the Giants should be ashamed of themselves as well.
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted November 27, 2006 It's a scary day when fans and columnist might be calling for Brian Griese. The man who lost his starting job to Chris Simms. Be better off calling for Kyle Orton. Interesting question is does this win over the Giants save Jeff Fisher from getting fired or is he history in Titan land? Guest Felonies! Report post Posted November 27, 2006 Bears did a lot of things pretty well tonight, but it doesn't matter. They blew this game. That false start that led to the blocked field goal attempt hurt us more than I could've imagined. This was hardly a humiliation loss like the Dolphins game, but I just don't have much faith in Grossman right now. Matching turnovers is just bad.
snuffbox 0 Report post Posted November 27, 2006 What was Rex thinking on that big throw with plenty of time left? Not that I'm complaining or anything.
Guest Felonies! Report post Posted November 27, 2006 What was Rex thinking on that big throw with plenty of time left? Not that I'm complaining or anything. Probably a John Facenda voiceover of Rex Grossman heroically winning the game with a big pass.
naiwf 0 Report post Posted November 27, 2006 The Super Chargers nearly lost to the friggin' Raiders. I'd say the Ravens are looking the best of everyone right now. As long as they can keep putting up points, they're fine. Where is the "nearly lost" column in the standings again? The Giants "nearly won" today, but they didn't. This isn't the BCS system. Wins are the only thing that matters and right now the Chargers can be down 21 and still come back to beat you. The Ravens are a great frontrunning team, but if they fall behind a playoff caliber squad I don't think they can overcome that. Assuming Indy locks up the # 1 seed, that means either Baltimore or SD probably gets the #2. The one that doesn't will have to play a WC game and then play the one that does on the road. Looking at their results, San Diego has lost twice this year by three points each and all 9 of their wins have been by at least a TD. The Ravens have two 1 point wins, a three point win (over SD at home), and a six point win as well as a two point loss, and a 10 point loss. I think it's much more likely that the Ravens get knocked off in a close game by a Denver or Cincy type team simply because they rarely are involved in blowouts. Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted November 27, 2006 They're taking too big of bites with a young QB. Guy's starting his first actual full season, despite being in the league a few years. They'd be so much better off following the Baltimore plan and dumb down their offense. Power running and play action. Get the best TE money can buy. Another blocker to give Grossman time, and a safety net in the middle of the field. The only time Chicago makes mistakes is when Jones tries channeling Barry Sanders and hops and prances behind the line, only to get wrapped up and fall forward for a short gain. The other time is forcing Rex to throw deep when all they need is 13-18 outside of the hashes.
Guest Felonies! Report post Posted November 27, 2006 I know everybody rips Benson for the holdout and subsequent shitty attitude, but he doesn't fuck around with dancing like Jones does.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted November 27, 2006 Starting Griese would be beyond stupid as fuck. He's not THAT good, but is a decent insurance policy should Rex ended up injured again. Think about it: if interceptions are the problem, do you think to yourself "Gee, I'll start BRIAN GRIESE!"

If they had a guy who could get away with juking and jiving like Jones tries to do, they'd be a really good tandem. I think Thomas Jones needs to wake the fuck up and realize he's a north-south, cut once-and-go kind of guy. He has decent hands, and is a good utility kind of guy. Think about it: if interceptions are the problem, do you think to yourself "Gee, I'll start BRIAN GRIESE!" Yeah, it's kind of the instant reaction in games: "______, put Griese in!" Maybe even the slogan for the 2006 season. Once you remove yourself from the heat of the moment, it doesn't make a hell of a lot of sense.

Yeah, a 3 point loss on the road to a 9-2 team is something completely shameful. I guess since you guys couldn't win in Denver that the Ravens should just give up on their hopes of winning the title this season. In any case, if the Chargers win 1 more game than the Ravens (which is entirely possible), the rematch would be in San Diego with an extra week's rest and I don't think your squad will fare any better in SD than the Chargers did in Baltimore. MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted November 27, 2006 Its also entirely possible the Chargers dont even make the playoffs with the Chiefs and Broncos right at their heels.. UZI Suicide 0 Report post Posted November 27, 2006 This term gets thrown around a lot, but this call in the Chargers-Raiders game might have been the worst call in NFL history. SD receiver gets up from catching a ball - untouched - and celebrates by throwing the ball on the ground. Ref claims he was trying to throw the ball and rules it an illegal forward pass. As a die hard Raider hater, that's a complete joke, and a season suspension of that refereering crew is really the only way the NFL can come off of this without looking like a total sham. To be fair, that was a monumentally stupid thing to do. If he was untouched, then it can't be considered a celebration. What else do you call it? A fumble? The Broncos won't knock the Chargers out. They're 3 games up on the 7th best team with 5 to play, or the same lead that the Ravens have over the Bengals for the division and a spot in the postseason. Unless LT and Rivers both go down, they're making the playoffs.

The Chargers only have a 2 game lead on both Denver and KC and they already lost to KC once and they have to play both of them again.
