Art Sandusky Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 Why is this weird looking bespectacled guy occupying so many sigs/avatars? I mean, I know the origin, but every time I've seen TSM do this with any character from pop culture I would discover that it sucked. What makes this different? Sell me on this idea, O great and powerful internets.
luke-o Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 I was just guessin hes from the american version of the office. But that was a guess. Having not liked the UK version, i havent bothered with the US incarnation.
Craig Th Posted November 22, 2006 Report Posted November 22, 2006 How can I explain Dwight... - He lives on a beet farm. - He doesn't get sick. - He was Assitant Regional Manager. I mean Assitant to the Regional Manager. - He loves Michael Scott. - He is amazing at paintball. - He is a Volunteer Deputy Sheriff. - He is banging a tight Christain. - And he loves Michael Scott.
Ted the Poster Posted November 22, 2006 Report Posted November 22, 2006 The Office isn't really Patrick's style, I would imagine. Most others, sure.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted November 22, 2006 Report Posted November 22, 2006 More people need Randy from My Name is Earl in their avatars. Randy > Dwight and if didnt call an avatar ban on myself, Id have one.
Youth N Asia Posted November 22, 2006 Report Posted November 22, 2006 Go in, take it in. Take it all in, bitch. Now just imagine that, but not sounding gay and it's what I was going for.
Art Sandusky Posted November 22, 2006 Author Report Posted November 22, 2006 See, My Name Is Earl fuckin' rules. Why haven't more people taken to that?
Man Who Sold The World Posted November 22, 2006 Report Posted November 22, 2006 Dwigt? Who's Dwigt? Da White around yo lips.
Failed Bridge Posted November 22, 2006 Report Posted November 22, 2006 Prime Time TV has been dead to me since Seinfeld went off the air. If it weren't for Czech, my uncle and DVD sets then I wouldn't know the wonders of Arrested Development or 24.
EricMM Posted November 22, 2006 Report Posted November 22, 2006 Randy playing Cindi Lauper was genius. But Dwight has had so many fantastic moments, I wouldn't want to have to pick! Future Dwight > Future Hiro
Dobbs 3K Posted November 22, 2006 Report Posted November 22, 2006 Randy is entertaining, but Dwight has that insane dork vibe that a lot of people on the internet identify with, more so than Randy's good hearted retard schtick.
Lord of The Curry Posted November 22, 2006 Report Posted November 22, 2006 Dwigt? Who's Dwigt? Da White around yo lips. Not only did you not get the joke but you proceeded to throw in a horrible one of your own. Superb work.
Giuseppe Zangara Posted November 23, 2006 Report Posted November 23, 2006 See, My Name Is Earl fuckin' rules. Why haven't more people taken to that? I watched this once. Terrible. Never seen either version of The Office. I've been told I'd enjoy them both, so maybe one day.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted November 23, 2006 Report Posted November 23, 2006 I dont know how anyone can find the Office even remotely entertaining let alone actually somewhat funny. If given a choice between jabbing forks in both my eyes for a half an hour or watching the Office, Id watch the office..but after about 5 minutes Id be begging for the forks.
Guest Paul Posted November 23, 2006 Report Posted November 23, 2006 I feel the same as Marvin, only in reverse. My Name is Earl was good...for about 3 episodes...then, for me it went in the shitter. The Office however, is the only 30 minute sitcom that has caught my attention as "must see" since Seinfeld.
PLAGIARISM! Posted November 23, 2006 Report Posted November 23, 2006 Obviously i found the American version kind of embarassing, but it was ok in itself. I intensely disliked both My Name Is Earl and Arrested Development. Curb Your Enthusiasm is the last US comedy I really enjoyed. That pretty much includes movies as well, as I don't get the appeal of Ferrell, Black et al either.
Guest Paul Posted November 23, 2006 Report Posted November 23, 2006 Yes, Yes. Curb rules. Everyone that thinks otherwise is a fucking moron.
Youth N Asia Posted November 23, 2006 Report Posted November 23, 2006 For dry comedy I put Arrested Development slight above The Office, and above Curb
MarvinisaLunatic Posted November 23, 2006 Report Posted November 23, 2006 Im liking Arrested Development more and more as the first season progressed. HDNet is running a season 1 marathon tomorrow and aired the last episode of season 1 tonight. Ive never seen Curb Your Enthusiasm since I don get HBO.
Youth N Asia Posted November 23, 2006 Report Posted November 23, 2006 What sucked about AD getting cancelled was that it was only getting better as it went on
Craig Th Posted November 23, 2006 Report Posted November 23, 2006 You know that the Office is in HD Marv. You probably saw it in SD so you didn't like it. I am really beginning to hate Marv.
Youth N Asia Posted November 23, 2006 Report Posted November 23, 2006 For those that don't know...Gareth is pretty much Dwight. Not as funny, but meaner, and much more full of himself.
Craig Th Posted November 23, 2006 Report Posted November 23, 2006 Yeah, I need to watch the original Office.
bob_barron Posted November 23, 2006 Report Posted November 23, 2006 Dwight: Why tip someone for a job I'm capable of doing myself? I can deliver food. I can drive a taxi. I can, and do, cut my own hair. I did however, tip my urologist, because I am unable to pulverize my own kidney stones
Youth N Asia Posted November 23, 2006 Report Posted November 23, 2006 The original Office is a quick watch. Only 16 episodes and a 90 minute special to end the series. And in the first episode you'll see that the US version is almost an exact duplicate of the BBC's first episode.
Man Who Sold The World Posted November 23, 2006 Report Posted November 23, 2006 Dwigt? Who's Dwigt? Da White around yo lips. Not only did you not get the joke but you proceeded to throw in a horrible one of your own. Superb work. I did get the joke. It was hair-larious. You seem a little upset. Wanna talk about it?
