Recommended Posts

From PWInsider.com

Steel Cage Match: MVP defeated Kane. The finish saw them battling while standing on the top rope. Kane ended up crotched and MVP scampered over the top to the floor.

They aired a video hyping the Survivor Series.

Gregory Helms defeated Jimmy Wang Yang.

Backstage, Vickie Guerrero approached Chris Benoit and wanted to know why Benoit called her lawyer. Benoit said he knew Vickie and Chavo were up to something in regards to Eddie's estate. Vickie told Benoit to stay out of her business and tried to slap him, but he grabbed her arm and stopped her.

MVP was in the back and had ice on his head. Ken Kennedy approached him and apologized for throwing him into the ring with Kane and Undertaker last week. Kennedy said this week is about being thankful and he was going to tell the Undertaker how thankful he is.

Backstage, King Booker T approached Teddy Long and said he wanted Batista to sign an agreement that if he lost at Survivor Series, he would never get another title match at King Booker.

William Regal pinned Brian Kendrick with a Shining Wizard.

Mr. Kennedy cut a long promo on The Undertaker. Undertaker appeared during the interview, leading to blood falling from the ceiling onto Kennedy.

Finlay defeated WWE United States champion Chris Benoit in a non-title match after Chavo and Vickie Guerrero came out. Chavo hit several top rope frog splashes after the match on Benoit. Match was long and really good.

Boogeyman vs. Mike the Miz - Miz walked out and Boogey wormed the referee.

In the ring, King Booker cut a promo and demanded Batista sign the agreement. Batista came out. It ended up with the table overturned and Booker laying out Batista after striking him with the royal scepter to end the show.

Didn't this already happen after he lost a match awhile back? Oh right, continuity.

And I'm glad Benoit lost this week, it means we won't have to see US Champion Chavo Guerrero anytime soon.

most of this we saw last week.

what's the deal with Regal beating up the tag champs all the time?

whose idea was this Kane/MVP feud? it just came out of nowhere. Maybe MVP was the fake kane

Odd that Raw got the big Survivor Series push and this got none of that.

They need to freshen up the world title scene. Booker's ok with the comedy but he needs to beat some of the younger babyfaces clean more often.

Not quite. Freakin' Deacon (a Bruiser Brody clone who's been in developmental for some time now) was the Fake Kane, and was also supposed to wind up on Smackdown doing the Brody gimmick at some point last I'd heard.

MVP is/was Antonio Banks out of Florida. The MVP gimmick is what he started using in Deep South.

Actually I think Booker will sneak past Batista via DQ or countout and thus Batista would have to win the Rumble or something for another title shot.

Here is one thing I would like to know: What business is it of Benoit's to interfere in Eddie Guerrero's estate? Dude, it pretty much IS Vicki Guerrero's business and it isn't yours.

I would be surprised if they don't pull the trigger on Batista's next reign on Sunday. I like Booker, but the feud with Batista has run its course after the number of tag-match main events they've had (not to mention the cheap DQ finishes their single matches have had) To try and hold this off to Royal Rumble or even Armageddon would be extremely ballsy. I don't think there's anyone else they could throw in there after this to stall the feud. There's no Elimination Chamber this year since ECW took it, and they just did a Fatal Four Way at the last PPV. So yeah, I'm putting money on World Champion Batista.

Yeah but here is a thing that puzzles me. Let's say Batista wins the title. Where do you go with it? The Booker feud wouldn't have enough left to go to WM, and there's really no other main event heel ready.

Easily, the best option for a heel right now against Batista heading into WM would be Kennedy.

Kennedy has been booked very strongly against UT and is liked enough by WWE/Taker to get that major push of beating the dead-man.

He's a good heel and is more suited for a main event push right now from the diluted amount of choices on Smackdown.

Smackdown's not going to be the main draw for Mania, so it's not expected carry anything. Batista/Kennedy can work for a good 3 months leading to WM.

Unfortunately I won't get to see most of this show, but it sounds pretty good.

If Lashley were still on SD, I'd say Batista wins without a doubt, but now that the most logical program is gone, it's more up in the air. They could still do the Batista win, then do Kennedy as a somewhat surprising Rumble winner which could really elevate Kennedy if done right. I have no idea what they'd do at Armageddon and NWO. They might bust out Batista/Taker to pop a buyrate for one of those throwaway shows.

I think Booker still has some viable programs left (Benoit being the big one), plus WWE loves the face chase storylines. Problem is Booker doesn't really have enough credibility to get a new face over.

If Batista wins, Armageddon will have the rematch. Taker/Batista at the Rumble and Kennedy/Batista at Mania.

If Booker wins, Booker vs Finlay vs Batista at Armageddon. Booker/Benoit at Rumble and Booker/Batista at Mania.

I just don't see how Booker gets out of Sunday with the belt.

From PWInsider.com

William Regal pinned Brian Kendrick with a Shining Wizard.

:o

That was completely my reaction, although I fully expect it to be his regular running knee to the head.

Disco. Regal somehow gets a cut around his left eye in this match - I wasn't paying much attention, but by the end of it he looks extremely badass.

Why do you people keep trying to insist that Booker/Benoit needs to be done again. Each of them have been working each other since 1996. It's overdone and every match between the two are the same. They are solid matches but the fans are burnt out on it. It's a good enough mid-card program but it can't cover a main event scene right now.

And even though it's pretty much impossible for Taker to lose heat, him bleeding in a match to help put Kennedy over is not as bad for him as being pinned. While I think Taker and WWE does see something in him, it's kinda funny that they won't let him get a pin to really give him a jump.

But yeah, Kennedy winning the Rumble would be awesome, especially if ONCE AGAIN, it denies Randy Orton the victory he wants so badly every year.

If anything, Taker losing the match via a massive blood lost only helps both men out anyways (Kennedy for obvious reason and Taker for taking a beating with such a blood lost).

I hadn't thought of Kennedy winning the rumble but it would totally work since Raw and ECW can set up their title matches without using the rumble victory as a starting point.

That's all well and dandy, but Booker is going to win once again to set up Batista winning the Rumble so he can finally get Booker once again, but this time at Wrestlemania!

I hope to God that doesn't happen. I want this bloody feud to end on Sunday.
