Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2006 not even a check card? those things are heavenly! Â the only drawbacks to check cards is that there are still a number of merchants that don't bother IDing the person, anyone could use your card. Especially places with self checkout lanes. Â also, idiot cashiers/wait staff that will run your card over and over because it won't ring up the first time...they just keep on running it until it finally says OK. CanadianGuitarist 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2006 What exactly is a cheque card? Far as I know they're not available in Canada...It's like a pre-paid credit card right? If it withdraws from a chequing account, why use that instead of debit? Â To answer the topic: I make a point to carry two fives, a ten and a twenty. That doesn't happen nearly as often as I'd like though. Both jobs are direct deposit.
Matt Young 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2006 $642... But when I leave the house, I'll only take as much as I need. Speaking of need, I need to get myself a bank account out here.

Dandy 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2006 $0 at the moment. I used to carry loads of cash on me, sometimes as much as a grand at a time. When I was paid cash every night at my job, most of it went into my safe at home or in my pocket. I would make deposits into my checking account every other week or so. Â Now that I don't have a "get paid in cash" job, I have it directly deposited in my checking account every Thursday night (Friday morning) at midnight. I use my Debit Card for everything, and get cash out when cash is needed. I prefer this way over what I did in the past, but it was nice to have cash on you in case you ran into a situation where you could not use your card. Â Oh, and I don't carry a wallet anymore. 2GOLD 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2006 52 bucks, I had to take it out to finish my Christmas shopping. I never keep more than 40 bucks in my wallet in assorted bills at a time usually. The good old check card works for everything and what it doesn't work for, isn't worth more than 40 dollars.
