Mik Posted December 18, 2006 Report Posted December 18, 2006 SNL puts out one of "those skits" that blow up with Dick in a Box - the first since Lazy Sunday and we've got no SNL review to show for it? You're slacking.
Vern Gagne Posted December 18, 2006 Report Posted December 18, 2006 I want everyone involved in the Alvin and the Chipmunks mockery to be beaten into a coma.
Guest "Go, Mordecai!" Posted December 18, 2006 Report Posted December 18, 2006 Wait, this is going to be a pop-culture phenomenon? You've gotta be kidding me.
bob_barron Posted December 18, 2006 Report Posted December 18, 2006 I was at the dress rehearsal this weekend, so I'm exhausted and still haven't seen most of the show. I'll watch it today, and try to get something up today. I did meet Will Arnett though!
razazteca Posted December 18, 2006 Report Posted December 18, 2006 I bet the main reason Bob hasn't done the review is because he didn't get any fan mail this week or he wants to do a positive spin on what happened at the Knicks basketbrawl that or he has been stalking Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan around town. luckwarm opening: I was expecting the opening Xmas song to be the one they play every year with Jimmy, Tracy, Chris, Horatio in their Xmas sweaters doing the cheesy 80's synth pop song but it was all a swerve when the Chipmucks came out. *** Bring it all to 'ville...: Timberlake as a cup o noodle battles Santa for charity money on the street corner. Every single song that Justin played I recognized.....damn I'm old. **** Target checkout: Why is this a recurring skit? Timberlake ruled as always ***** Bee Gees: The other recurring role for Justin Timberlake if you seen it before you know what to expect. Barry Gibb will demand everyone say his full name then go on a tired about Staying Alive and Andy will just sit there with nothing to say. ** digital short: Dick in a Box, Chris Parnell apparently passed the torch to this Samberg kid. ******* Weekend Update bah its still not the Daily Show I give the show *** to many song skits but it worked this week.

Guest "Go, Mordecai!" Posted December 19, 2006 Report Posted December 19, 2006 Mr. Show did this basic concept better like ten years ago.
Gary Floyd Posted December 19, 2006 Report Posted December 19, 2006 Mr. Show did this basic concept better like ten years ago. As much as I love Mr Show, I always hated those skits.
SuperJerk Posted December 19, 2006 Report Posted December 19, 2006 Not quite the same. The Mr. Show skits were making fun of white people singing "black" music. This is basically just a ridicules concept set to music.
Guest "Go, Mordecai!" Posted December 19, 2006 Report Posted December 19, 2006 I smiled at the little choreographed dance steps, and the double meaning of "dick in a box," but God help me if this becomes a cultural phenomenon like Lazy Sunday and More Cowbell.
SuperJerk Posted January 13, 2007 Report Posted January 13, 2007 Since this was the de facto "OAO Dick in a Box" thread, I'll post my thoughts on this here. PEOPLE NEED TO STOP MAKING "DICK IN A BOX" PARODIES. They suck. All of them. Essentialy all they do is change one damn word from "dick" to some other body part. You can't make a parody of a parody and expect it to be even 1/10th as funny, so please stop trying. Jeez.
bob_barron Posted January 14, 2007 Report Posted January 14, 2007 I went to the afterparty last night, so again, review will take a few days
Special K Posted January 14, 2007 Report Posted January 14, 2007 I love the "three plus one minus one" sketches, but they're not really the same. "I stuck my penissss.... in your beautiful vagina." "Awwww, shit!"
King Kamala Posted January 14, 2007 Report Posted January 14, 2007 Last night was a really really average show. A night of **1/2 and *** skits. Except for Deep House Dish, that sucked hard as always. The Cool Food and Laser Cats 2 skits were cute.

Art Sandusky Posted January 15, 2007 Report Posted January 15, 2007 Sadly, I'm usually feelin' whatever spoof music that's on Deep House Dish. Doesn't prevent me from laughing my ass off though.
Mik Posted January 15, 2007 Author Report Posted January 15, 2007 I usually hate Deep House Dish but last night when he said..."Did you see that? I just dog whispered you." I almost spit my drink full across the room. I wasn't expecting it at all.
