The OAO ECW Thread for 1/9/07

Recommended Posts

When you think about it, maybe Punk jobbing isn't a bad thing. He's had an undefeated streak for a while, and they're trying to put Hardcore over as a legitimate contender in this feud. They're seeing if he's still over without his winning streak, because let's face it, he can't ALWAYS win, or there'd be no suspense in the feuds.

You do realize his first lost was in the EC match. Were they not counting that?

No, because they mentioned he had an undefeated streak during the match tonight, so I guess it didn't count.

Oh, really? I can't watch it for another 3 hours so I couldn't hear them say that. Odd...

Punk had to lose eventually, I think this was typically poorly booked though.

It's gotten to the point where ECW only has like 6 or 7 guys that can wrestle on TV, so Punk has nobody left to wrestle except the top guys and Bob Holly. Thus they had him lose to Bob Holly. Holly is epically un-over after years of failed pushes, and this won't help things. I thought the match was pretty good though.

What a way to waste Punk's first official singles job. They could have at least given the first win over Punk to someone with an upside.

I was gonna say the guy left for RAW last night, but look..Kahli on ECW! YAY! More Kahli!

This is Khali's last ECW match, then he's on to Raw.

and after reading about Punk loosing, I bet Hawk 34 either threw the remote at the tv and broke it or had a heart attack.

Punk losing was a matter of time. It's for the best but the booking and timing was poor. If it leads to Punk getting the final win in a blowoff, then it's no big deal but if its just another WWE mismanaged situation, then its a waste.

He thinks Punk is not being misuse so he should be ok with it.

I must say that Khali is booked better than any 'Monster' wrestler in a long time, seriously has the guy ever been shown to have a weakness or in danger, even Undertaker let the guy manhandle him.

Doesn't make him a good wrestler, but guys like Khali are freaks anyway, just amazed how strongly he's been booked is all. Not that he's booked as a monster, but a REALLY unbeatalbe one too.
