Scroby Posted February 1, 2007 Report Posted February 1, 2007 I watched the first episode that aired last Friday on Youtube but I missed the "debut" episode on Tuesday as I tried recording the replay but I guess I set the date or time wrong on the VCR. I found the...I guess the Pilot episode to be alright. The first match between Sydel (sp?) vs Jack Evans was alright. I wanted to get into it but it was just really to fast and Evans really didn't sell shit and just kept doing the flipping crap. Zak Wylds on Commentry was actually pretty good, he wasn't that bad on it. Kiss Kloss, as much as I hate to say it, didn't annoy me but the other guy who kept saying "dude" and "bro" just sucks balls. The ring annoucer was over the top, something different but he looked corny walking around the ring annoucing the wrestlers. Ok who ever is in the production truck needs to learn to stop cutting to another camera so much. The battle royal main event, it was intresting, it started out pretty good...then it just went to to many table/hardcore spots all at once. It was just one thing right another, after another, after another, after another. I understand they only have half an hour, but man pace things a little bit. The show was ok, it wasn't bad but it does need improvement. Hopefully next week, I can record the replay without any issues and try to enjoy it. Is the episode that aired on Tuesday on youtube?
Bruce Blank Posted February 1, 2007 Report Posted February 1, 2007 I was entertained - that'll do for me, let other federations be about psychology and selling and story telling in the ring, bring on the spot-tastics. Are you referring to WWE and TNA as being about psychology and story telling? Well.... thank god for my tape collection
Bruce Blank Posted February 1, 2007 Report Posted February 1, 2007 Is the episode that aired on Tuesday on youtube?Yep it is.
Bruce Blank Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 And here it is for those who can't watch it on their website: Puma Vs Human Tornado Vs Luke
Cheech Tremendous Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 Finally had a chance to watch this last night, and it was the first wrestling program I had watched since the first few weeks of ECW last summer. Here a few thoughts: - The production, as I predicted, was fantastic. The ring, arena, camera cuts, music, etc. made this thing seem legitimate instead of a two-bit indy promotion (which it essentially is). - The announcers are average. The ring guy with the mic is annoying, as is the guy who says "dude" and "bro" after every sentence. Bringing Zak in was a nice touch. - The wrestlers can't work a lick. Man were they awful, but in the context of the show they seemed to fit. I doubt any MTVers are concerned about pyschology and transition moves. - Normally I'd say half an hour is a crime for a wrestling show because you can't get over characters or storylines in that timeframe. Well, since its apparent they won't have any storylines or character development, the time is fine. I don't think I could handle anymore than 30 minutes of non-stop flipping, spots, and weapon shots. All in all, it was enjoyable if utterly ridiculous and forgettable. When this thing goes belly up after 12 episodes, WWE would be wise to hire the producers behind it and incorporate some of their ideas in the programming,
razazteca Posted February 3, 2007 Report Posted February 3, 2007 This just in the Human Torpedo has balls of steel.
Jericholic82 Posted February 3, 2007 Report Posted February 3, 2007 I finally saw it on wednesday morning at 1: 30, and recorded it on dvd. decent first show. Cool to see some of the xpw and other socal indy alumns in there. Whats up with klos' new look? I guess I was so used to seeing him with the long blond ponytail back in the day. the first match was ok maybe too short but some good spots , the rumble was just kinda there, but again some nice spots (the electrocution part was comically done, although better special fx than abdullah at havoc 91). I was so mad that kaos got eliminated. Great to see aguilera and al katrazz again (2 guys I used to watch in the local indies in boys and girls clubs) youth suicide became my fav for the event after kaos was gone, if only cuz hes announced as being from ventura (still gotta have love for the 805 though I am no longer there, and besides my best friend still lives there). of course waltman won, hes the biggest name they got. him vs vampiro should be a good match. Im looking forward to episdoe number 2
razazteca Posted February 3, 2007 Report Posted February 3, 2007 If you like matches ending with deathmatch spots then wait until you see the main event of the 2nd show of 6-Pack vs Vampiro! So far after watching 2 episodes of WSX I think the rising "new" stars are Breakin Electric 2: Boogaloo Jack Evan, Teddy Hart, Team Dragon Gate since their spots don't look as botchtific as the average AAA show.

Guest Totally Crazy Posted February 3, 2007 Report Posted February 3, 2007 This just in the Human Torpedo has balls of steel. *Tornado. Are we getting this in Canada? I'm asking because I was checking back to Mtv (channel 52) and the repeat was never broadcasted. WTF? To think I watched anything from Mtv for more than 5 seconds...ugh.
razazteca Posted February 3, 2007 Report Posted February 3, 2007 This just in the Human Torpedo has balls of steel. *Tornado. I'm still in shock from him no-selling the field goal kick to the crotch.
Youth N Asia Posted February 3, 2007 Report Posted February 3, 2007 I caught it today and it was alright. I could do without reaction shots from the crowd every every highspot though
Mecca Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 This just in the Human Torpedo has balls of steel. *Tornado. I'm still in shock from him no-selling the field goal kick to the crotch. He ALWAYS does that it's part of his gimmick. Type his name into Youtube and watch some of his videos, you'll see what his gimmick is and that he always does that.

This was the same for everyone else, right?

This was the same for everyone else, right? Oh were they? Someone had told me those were the same show but I wasn't 100% sure, and your the 2nd guy to tell me that so I guess the two airings were the same show. Thats weird of MTV to do that. So the next show on Tuesday should be Waltman vs Vampiro? I caught it today and it was alright. I could do without reaction shots from the crowd every every highspot though I was playing count the camera cuts to the fans during the WSX extra match....but I lost, I lost count.
razazteca Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 The Friday and Tuesday shows are the same....the premier is really Friday at 10.
Scroby Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 The Friday and Tuesday shows are the same....the premier is really Friday at 10. Yeah, I guess so. A friend of mine told me tonight that a few guys already saw Waltman vs Vampiro on Friday. MTV is so fucked up.
razazteca Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 I was playing count the camera cuts to the fans during the WSX extra match....but I lost, I lost count. Did they get the production crew from ESPN's The Contender which would cut to the wife or family after every punch?
luke-o Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 Ive always said that Human Tornado would make a good tag team partner for Ron Killings in TNA.
GODSON Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 Ive always said that Human Tornado would make a good tag team partner for Ron Killings in TNA. I don't see it.........
qdes Posted February 5, 2007 Report Posted February 5, 2007 This is my favorite wrestling program on tv right no. Sad and great at the same time.
Scroby Posted February 5, 2007 Report Posted February 5, 2007 Why is WSX promoting XPW, like XPW was a big name? I know to some, XPW was a big deal, but lets be honest XPW wasn't all that big of a promotion and was mainly well known through the internet. I think a lot of the casual wrestling fans won't know what XPW was.
razazteca Posted February 6, 2007 Report Posted February 6, 2007 As the announcer Kris Kloss would say "WHY AM I CALLING THIS WSX..." we all know its XPW under a different name I bet they did it to disassociate themselves from the porn company that was paying the bills.

I watch XPW, WSX and XPW is totally different.

Guest DogOn Posted February 6, 2007 Report Posted February 6, 2007 A lot of Indie promotions are getting plugged. But I can remember hearing someone refer to Supreme as being a deathmatch 'legend', is Supreme actually considered a legend? Because I've only seen him in XPW and a 10 second clip from Big Japan.

But I can remember hearing someone refer to Supreme as being a deathmatch 'legend', is Supreme actually considered a legend? Because I've only seen him in XPW and a 10 second clip from Big Japan. That was Kris Kloss, and he's the former XPW announcer. Hence his calling toad-looking Supreme "a legend."

Tornado is the man, best moveset in wrestling. Anyone know when this airs, if at all, in England off-hand?
Mecca Posted February 7, 2007 Report Posted February 7, 2007 One of the producers of the show and the guy who pitched the idea to MTV is Kevin Kleinrock who worked in XPW......I think that explains all the XPW stuff.
