Epic Reine Posted January 14, 2007 Report Posted January 14, 2007 You Got Served was #1 when it was released so this doesn't surprise me one bit and I'm glad Timberlake's movie looks to be bombing big time considering how dumb it looked.

The Niggardly King Posted January 14, 2007 Report Posted January 14, 2007 Stomp The Yard had all the intangibles in a trailer to attract it's key group. Major dramatic event + outrageous dancing feats + hot lead actress + Lil Jon blasting throughout the trailer = $13+ million.

razazteca Posted January 15, 2007 Report Posted January 15, 2007 KOAB is teenage white girl that watches BET all day? Has there been a dance movie that hasn't opened at #1?
The Amazing Rando Posted January 15, 2007 Report Posted January 15, 2007 Signs point to Breakin' and Breakin' 2 as more than likely never opening at number one. The first only made 38 million, and the sequel made 15.
Exslade ZX Posted January 15, 2007 Report Posted January 15, 2007 Yes...people went to see a black movie. That makes them stupid. [/sarcasm, of course]
Ripper Posted January 15, 2007 Report Posted January 15, 2007 Well...this is better than fucking soul plane. I have no problem with this movie. I am shocked by how many white people I have met that had no idea that stepping even existed amoung black frats. I thought it was pretty much well known.

I am shocked by how many white people I have met that had no idea that stepping even existed amoung black frats. I thought it was pretty much well known. Depends on the white people you ask. I'll rent this film but they really gave away the ending there in one of the previews with him holding the female lead and everyone celebrating in the background. Does look fun but yeah, rental or cheap theater. And on behalf of all white people, I'd like to apologize for American Pie 2, American Wedding, and anything with Dane Cook. We're sorry.
Lt. Al Giardello Posted January 15, 2007 Report Posted January 15, 2007 Alpha Dog flopped, I'm suprised. I saw it on Saturday, and I was really suprised by the movie, it was pretty good.
NYU Posted January 15, 2007 Report Posted January 15, 2007 I'm shocked Alpha Dog did so poorly. It looked like an interesting movie, and I might eventually get dragged to it sometime in the next week. Stomp the Yard? I never even heard of it before opening this thread.
razazteca Posted January 15, 2007 Report Posted January 15, 2007 I found out about Steppin' back in the day from the Bill Crosby friendly "A Different World" and "Sister Sister" tv series.
Ginger Snaps Posted January 15, 2007 Report Posted January 15, 2007 Yes...people went to see a black movie. That makes them stupid. [/sarcasm, of course] No. But these sort of black movies are really, really stupid.

Youth N Asia Posted January 15, 2007 Report Posted January 15, 2007 On behalf of the white people I'll apologize for American Wedding, Hinder, and Dane Cook. But NOT American Pie 2. I have no interest in seeing Stomp the Yard. I know it's not the same movie, but to a clueless white guy like me it looks like You Got Served 2. A movie that I still have fun with. "no rules?" "STRAIGHT STREET" ...it's fucking dancing!
Black Lushus Posted January 15, 2007 Report Posted January 15, 2007 American Pie 2 wasn't that bad...Wedding? Yeah, you better apologize for that one.
King Kamala Posted January 15, 2007 Report Posted January 15, 2007 American Pie 2 wasn't that bad...Wedding? Yeah, you better apologize for that one. I liked every one of the first three. So sue me. I guess I'm just a sucker for sophmoric teen comedy. On behalf of all white people, I'd like to apologize for every Chevy Chase movie after Christmas Vacation.
King Kamala Posted January 15, 2007 Report Posted January 15, 2007 Whoops double post. Sorry 'bout that

I actually went to his IMDB page to dispute this...but yeah, everything I liked was Christmas and before. The Vacations (minus Vegas), The Fletch movies, Three Amigos...yup. Poor guy. Sorry black people. For American Wedding, Hinder, Dane Cook, and Post 1989 Chevey Chase
razazteca Posted January 15, 2007 Report Posted January 15, 2007 Whoops double post. Sorry 'bout that you need to apologize for all of the bad sequels that was nothing but rehashes.

MarvinisaLunatic Posted January 15, 2007 Report Posted January 15, 2007 The movie about the killer croc bombed. Im gonna blame Steve Irwin dying.
