KingPK 0 Report post Posted January 22, 2007 I'm not going to follow a damn second of the hype this year. Everyone will probably just pick from the usual three subplots: 1) Two black coaches (yes, it's historical, we can understand that) 2) Peyton becoming Football God with a win (he'll be above Marino, I can tell you that) 3) Rex Grossman: is he tEh suxxorz and the Achilles Heel for Chicago? Also, please Chicago, NO SUPER BOWL SHUFFLE II: ELECTRIC BUGALOO!
snuffbox 0 Report post Posted January 22, 2007 We saw how well the espn experts did with the NFC game...how'd they do on the AFC side? Any of the wizards pick Indy?
Guest "Go, Mordecai!" Report post Posted January 22, 2007 I think most of them picked the Colts, actually. On the morning show, everyone but Ditka picked the Saints, everyone but Young picked the Colts. I think the Bears today were fool's gold to some degree. So first we get "The Saints are clearly going to win since the Bears barely got past the crappy Seahawks," and now "Well come on, they only blew out a 10-win team." Even when the Bears win, they lose.
Guest Legalise Drugs and Murder Report post Posted January 22, 2007 At least I've got two weeks to decide if I want to drive all the way to Chicago to watch the game among the folks there, or if I feel like cruising down to much closer Indy to do the same. I'll be satisfied regardless of the results.
Guest "Go, Mordecai!" Report post Posted January 22, 2007 I will drive to Chicago. Let's party, Agent.
Betty Houle 0 Report post Posted January 22, 2007 I'm late posting on this thread but WHAT A FUCKIN' GAME! I almost left the bar when the Patriots were up 21-3. I thought that I would have to skip the SuperBowl this year. Thankfully my husband stopped me and I saw the remaining 2+ quarters. WOW. What an emotional rollercoaster of a game! Peyton played one Hell of a game and the Colts D were poor at times but came through in some key moments. YAY! Brady lost the game for them on that last drive! YAY! razazteca 0 Report post Posted January 22, 2007 The Patriots lost the game because Cadwell dropped the ball 5 times pretending to be like Terrell Owens.
Jaxxson Mayhem 0 Report post Posted January 22, 2007 Go colts. And fuck belichick. You fucking sore loser, no class having bastard. Him after the game and during the press conferences shows what type of person he is.

KingPK 0 Report post Posted January 22, 2007 (edited) Someone's apparently never seen Bill Belichick before. Joe Torre wasn't exactly Mr. Sunshine in 2004, was he? Edited January 22, 2007 by KingPK
Fökai 0 Report post Posted January 22, 2007 Other than Illinois and Indiana, who the fuck wants to see the Bears vs the Colts in the SB? The Chicago Bears have a national following, like many Chicago teams. Come on. You know better than that. I guess he wanted millions of casual people cooing over New Orleans in the Super Bowl. And it's not as if the Patriots have a fanbase that extends outside of the northeastern United States.

bob_barron 0 Report post Posted January 22, 2007 I think we should just accept that mole knows nothing about sports. Even though it's def not the SB I wanted, I'm really looking forward to Bears v. Colts. I think it should be a real fun game.

Well, you, obviously. I've seen belichick before. I've seen how he reacts after a win. And I've seen how he reacts after a loss. He's an asshole. Period. Guest "Go, Mordecai!" Report post Posted January 22, 2007 It's Sexy Rexy, Number 8. I'm occasionally bad, but usually great. I'm not too tall, I'm not too quick. The word on the street is that I'm a (WHISTLE!!!) I may make fans yell "what the heck?" But I'm better than the guy with a beard on his neck! I'm giving the meatheads cardiac trouble, As they watch me doin' the Super Bowl Shuffle!
Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted January 22, 2007 Griese's got a neck beard? Players today wouldn't do something like the Super Bowl shuffle.
Guest Legalise Drugs and Murder Report post Posted January 22, 2007 Besides, even if the Bears did something similar, it wouldn't have the same panache as that cocky friggin' video recorded before the regular season was even finished.
snuffbox 0 Report post Posted January 22, 2007 I thought the Patriots were dicks after the Chargers game. After the AFC Title game, I didn't see what the cowboynumbers poster saw. I did see on the postgame shows on espn that the experts are still being just as smug as ever despite the NFC game embarassment.
NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted January 22, 2007 I think the Bears today were fool's gold to some degree. The Saints were a dome team playing in shitty weather (sound familiar?) and good grief they put the ball on the ground so many times it wasn't funny. Just stupid shit like fumbling the kickoff, or Brees having it taken away for no real reason other than they were sucking today. Let's not kid ourselves...the Saints weren't too amazing. The Ravens, Bengals, and Steelers all whipped the Saints this year and 2 of those weren't even playoff teams. Even so, they were moving the ball today against the Bears but every time they did they would blow it by fumbling or something equally foolish. Correct. I don't see how anyone watching the Bears/Saints game could have come away thinking "Wow, they will make a GREAT Superbowl team" But, I guess that is the nature of today's NFL, or moreso the NFC. The NFC hasn't sent a really SUPER-quality team to the bowl since the Bucs. The Seahawks were decent, but lets be realistic about the team they were facing, an abover-average team that caught fire at the right time of the season. KingPK 0 Report post Posted January 23, 2007 (edited) This'll probably be the last post in this thread, but I'd just like to point out how amusing it is to see the rats fleeing the Patriots ship in the papers today: Brady has been to his last Super Bowl Belichick sucks (Part I) (Three guesses as to who wrote this one.) Belichick sucks (Part II) They've got two first round picks, a young core of players (Brady's only going to turn 30 this year) and had a team "rebuilding", without" the clutchiest kicker that ever clutched" (Gostkowski in postseason: 8 FGs attempted, 8 made) "with no receivers" and "linebackers too too old and slow to do anything" make the title game. Yes, some of those things came back to bite them, but the point still stands. They aren't going anywhere. Edited January 23, 2007 by KingPK

Guest Legalise Drugs and Murder Report post Posted January 24, 2007 You're right, that was spiteful. I'm done with bloodthirsty revenge now and am looking forward to the big game in a positive light. The AFC east is perfectly average, even though I can't stand a single team in it.
