OAO No Way Out thread

Recommended Posts

For someone whos actually going to be at No Way Out live sunday, this is really fucked up. the 4-way ladder match last year was one of the best matches of 2006 and I was excited to be seeing it again LIVE!. I really was. what a fucked up way to screw its fans like that. fuck you WWE!

This is exactly how I feel.

Yeah damnit, this time Joey Mercury's other eye should get fucked up!

The issue isn't about the match.

The issue is about the retardedness of announcing the match, hyping the match, and then switching the match.

It'd be one thing if it was just a rumor that there might be a 4 way rematch. I'm sure people wouldn't have a problem if it was just D&D vs. London/Kendrick from the start.

I read that they're stopping with the Hardy's and MNM teaming again, at least for a while.

Of course you did, it's on this page. 10 posts up.

I understand where the negativity about the match being canceled is coming from, and like I said, I did want to see it, but it's not certainly something I'd get pissed over. Matt, you had your ticket to the show before the thing was announced. Taker666, you didn't even pay for your ticket. D&D vs Londrick was the original plan anyway (I gather from Meltzer's update) and it makes more sense.

Just wondering, dude... Where is your seat?

Not really sure yet. my cousin got them for free through his mom's job. although I heard they're really good seats though. I had great seats for WM21.

Ah, okay. Just wondering because I am attending along with another board member. Mine is actually further back than I was for WrestleMania 21, though.

WWE just lost a 5-person purchase from me & my crew and will now have to settle for me downloading it.

Seriously. ****ing idiots.

It sounds like they lost one purchase split amongst 5 people.

I don't think they traditionally expect many buys for the NWO PPV anyway... this year, it's just 3 weeks after the Rumble (which is a big seller) and 6 weeks before Mania (the biggest seller). NWO needs to have an interesting enough card that some people will buy, but not good enough that so many will buy that they'll decide against spending the bigger money on Mania.

some of the complaints here are just idiotic. They beg for WWE to use logic, and when they do, they shit on it, because they won't get to see 4 teams almost kill themselves. Fucking morons.

Also, it isn't like they changed it hours before the PPV or even during the PPV. False advertising really doesn't apply.

Announce a needless but sure buyrate gaining match two weeks before a PPV, spend the first half of Smackdown talking about it and encouraging people to buy the show for it, drop the match a few days later on a booking whim because they've flip-flopped for about the tenth time in four months on whether to tag The Hardyz and MNM or not, then make it out to be Duece and Domino's fault so the marks who paid to see the Ladder Match already will crap on them when they don't get it.

That's logic for you.

I wasn't that interested in the Ladder Match anyway, as I said a couple of times. But the way they announced and dropped it and the reasons for doing so are ANYTHING but logical.

Are you on the booking team? I don't understand why everyone that has the fucking internet thinks they know every goddamn thing that goes on in the wrestling business. D and D have went over London and Kendrick clean the last two weeks. IT MAKES SENSE for them to get a title shot at the PPV. Why they booked the ladder match in the first place, NOBODY KNOWS. Nobody should even speculate about it because they don't know shit about what goes on. Yeah, they shouldn't have advertised it unless they were 100% sure they wanted to do it. But who is to say they weren't 100% sure? Maybe they were, and something happened, and they needed to change it. We're not told every single thing that goes on in booking meetings.

What's logical about having a match of that caliber on a throw away PPV? Save that for WrestleMania, because you're gonna buy it regardless. Save a great match for your biggest PPV. That's also logic for you.

Did you not read the post explaining it? I'm not one to take dirtsheet writers' word as gospel, but that basically said they changed it because they STILL don't have a clue what they're doing with The Hardyz and MNM. The Ladder Match idea was dumb in the first place, D&D should have had the title match in the first place. If it makes such sense for them to get the shot (which btw I agree it does), then why did the WWE go completely against sense? Or, is that too obvious? They didn't and it's lead to a booking trainwreck.

Nothing. So why did they book it in the first place, THAT'S what I've been saying ever since the Smackdown Spoiler thread a whole week ago!

By that logic, does that mean we should never speculate about anything? And aren't you yourself speculating?

I get that argument a lot. Speculating about something is one thing, but when you present it as fact, it's another. And I am not speculating, I'm presenting the argument of the other side of the booking team instead of the always popular "they have no clue what they're doing."

i guess everyone is having mixed feelings about the tag match being cancelled and the new tag match announced

i say to just stop arguing about that match and start discussing another match

Why does that make you think they have no idea what to do with the Hardyz or MNM? Maybe they DO know what they're doing and they don't want to overuse them as much as they have already.

If they new what they were doing with them, they'd be doing it. They wouldn't make the teams active, then inactive, then active, then inactive over and over again. They've been doing it since Survivor Series. They clearly don't know what they're doing with them.

I don't see why people hate the new match, it might even be more entertaining than the ladder match would have been. It won't be a spotfest like the ladder match would have been.

Point out one person in this thread who says they hate the new match. That's not the issue.

Do you mean the opposite.

The main problem is how much they hyped it on the last episode of Smackdown. If it weren't for that fact, there wouldn't be a lot of reason to complain.

If they had known what they were doing, then either:

a) The Ladder Match wouldn't have been scheduled

b) The Ladder Match would still be scheduled

That they made a major booking change like that just days before the PPV with no injuries from the participants shows that they do not in fact know what they are doing.

Not quite. We've seen countless schedule changes to PPV including taking off hyped matches before. If anything, this just indicates they decided to close shop on the Hardyz/MnM tag team feud and willl split it up across the respective brands.

I honestly think WWE is stunned Jeff has lasted this long before breaking the wellness policy, killing himself with a botch or returning to his tardiness habit and since Vince has always loved Jeff, doesn't want him saddled with Matt again for any longer. They put the IC title on him instantly as a attempt to maximize his expected brief tenure and went for the money match of reuniting him with Matt but since he has reached the point of being a steady performer whom maintains his popularity with the fans, they had to take Matt out of the picture although I'm sure they'll slap another "reunion tour" this summer.

If they wanted to keep RRKO busy while waiting to split them up when Hunter returns, RRKO-Hardyz would serve as a good placeholder feud for them.
