Black Lushus Posted February 8, 2007 Report Posted February 8, 2007 Don't move this, mods, it's about fantasy (general) wrestling, not video games...(oh and change the title, my dumbass put what IS, when it should say what IF!) In sports video games, there is always an option to play as one of the greatest teams in history....usually you have the ability to play as or unlock Superbowl teams, World Series teams, NBA Championship teams, etc. Whether it's the losing team or the winning team. In addition, there are a few teams thrown in that were just pretty damn good in a particular year (even if they didn't even go the championship games). In Madden games, you can have matchups such as the 85 Bears vs. the 99 Rams, in NBA games you can have the 91 Bulls vs. the 04 Pistons and so forth and so on. What if, instead of just having classic wrestlers that you can unlock, wrestling games had wrestlers with stats based on their best years? Let's do a little poll and then tournament thingy: List a wrestler, but specify him by his standout year(s). It doesn't necessarily need to be a year that he held a championship or anything, but if he was just really goddamn good that year. If we get enough participation, we'll do a tourney. Let's limit this to WWE(F), NWA, WCW, AWA, ROH, ECW and TNA, because, quite frankly, I know dick about the Japan promotions. Let's stick to the major North American wrestling circuits for now. If possible, let's restrict how far we can go back to 1980. (This was inspired by me watching Savage/Bret Hart from SNME back in 87 last night). If this is a stupid idea, fuck off and don't participate...oh and since I'm mostly a WWE guy, my list will be mostly them, but again, add others from the other promotions. Try not to list a wrestler more than TWICE. -88 Randy Savage -92 Bret Hart -95 Bret Hart -04 Chris Benoit -04 Eddie Guerrero -06 Edge -06 John Cena -06 Samoa Joe -06 Brian Danielson -02 Brock Lesnar -95 Shawn Michaels -96 Shawn Michaels -97 Goldberg -99 Diamond Dallas Page (or was it 98?) -00 Scott Steiner -00 Booker T -95 Kevin Nash (as Diesel) -90 Curt Hennig -Flair (what are some good years?) -Sting (what are some good years?) -Dusty Rhodes (what are some good years?) -93 Vader -04 JBL -00 HHH -96 Hulk Hogan -91 Hulk Hogan -98 Steve Austin -00 Rock I'll think of more later, in the meantime, have it it, folks!
