ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2007 If Holly gets yet another title shot somehow, then they're super biased for Holly. ...Holy Shit, that was actually a pretty cool spot!

Mecca 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2007 Ok, so that was pretty cool/crazy looking. Pissed they didn't even show a replay. Don't worry it will be in the Mania hype video.........that's a big man to do a dive through spot so that makes it even cooler.
Open the Muggy Gate 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2007 That is the greatest thing I've seen this year. That'll be tough to top.

Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2007 I think we've reached 5 straight good WWE shows now. Sucks they don't get motivated until Mania time but now is better then never.

Downhome 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2007 I'm really enjoying WWE right now, but I'm totally not buying the orginals vs. new breed feud. There's nothing to it at all, and it's one sided in a big way. Other than that, I'm really enjoying all three WWE shows right now. I can't remember the last time that I said that. MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2007 Lashley wont get object use points for that cage shot will he? damnit
Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2007 I'm worried about how the actual match will go off but so far they are 2-2 in building these two against each other. Given how well the rest of the card has shaped, Mania might be the most interesting since WMXX or even X7.

The fued would make since if the new guys won regular matches but then they turned around and booked "extreme" rules which all the originals would take but it appears they don't want to do that. Guest Toddiwod Report post Posted February 28, 2007 Man, if this is a sign of things to come from Lashley... I might have to start being less critical of him. That was definitely one of the best spots of the year, so far. I don't guess it was technically a "spot", but the only thing that comes close to me was the Cena STFU on Umaga with the ring rope choke.
cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2007 I really am digging this Umaga/Lashley build. They have gotten back to what worked with Lashley in the Finlay feud, namely crazy brawling and guys trying to kill each other. Lashley having ho hum matches in the center of the ring isn't so hot. Lashley violently brawling has been stellar when he's been allowed to do it. The irony is that the reason this feud is getting the good booking behind it is due to Vince and Trump, yet it is actually serving the purpose to get these guys over. I'm not feeling the Originals/New Breed feud. Whatever steps they took last week in giving the Originals a decent win (RVD over Thorn) was erased this week. And why job RVD in that match when Dreamer is RIGHT THERE and willing to job for food? And if RVD has to job, does it have to be to Thorn? Why not let Monty Brown pick up that win? In fact why not just book Monty vs. RVD, a match that people would be interested in? I still insist that they put RVD in the MITB somehow, maybe another Last Chance Battle Royale type match. There needs to be another ECW guy in the match, since SD will likely have another guy and Raw will have Orton I'd assume. They can put Balls in some lame 8 man tag against the New Breed for WM along with Dreamer/Sandman/Sabu. That match would be a waste of RVD.
foleyfanforever88 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2007 They have video of Lashley diving through the cage on wwe.com now for anyone who missed it.
RedJed 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2007 Holt shit indeed - that last segment was pretty well done, and the spot to end the show, well thats how you get viewers to watch the next week. I am in utter shock that I actually want to see Lashley/Umaga now after this and last night's stuff. Some mystery folks HAVE to be helping WWE in booking these shows right now - they are so solid, it's trippin me out. First ECW show in a long time that kept me watching from start to finish. NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2007 Another thing that helped the show tonight was how over "ECW" was with the crowd. Usually "ECW" suffers with this because it is really a Smackdown Crowd that is being treated to HEATCW as a warmup,I mean hell, there was a freakin' "Balls Mahoney" chant during his matchn ot to mention the severe overness of RVD, which is usually the case, but the crowd tonight was very hot for the "ECW" product. The Originals vs. New Breed feud can only work if they are setting up the Originals to have a big IMPORTANT win, at Wrestlemania. The crowd keeps cheering for them, because I think they feel that their big win is coming eventually, however the problem here is that one, RVD is on his way out, so it is unlikely he is going to be going over much, and then two, the New Breed is a team of workers that Vince/Steph gush over and think should be protected, however, history shows that losing as a team is not going to damage anyone really, especially when the fans want to see it. Thus far, I think the writers are really dropping the ball with The Sandman. The guy is over, but given basically nothing to do. Yeah, I know he can't work straight matches so well, but that is just an excuse. Put him in street fights, or Chair vs. Cane matches. There is plenty that could be done to get the guy some matches. I am still not a Lashley fan, but even I have to admit that the main event and conclusion of the show were set up really well and did the job to get Lashley over for WM, including the big Cage Break Bump. Kudos to a good show.
cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2007 Okay fine. The New Breed can win the eventual blowoff of this feud when RVD and the others are all released (ONS perhaps). But at WM? The Originals need to challenge the New Breed to an Extreme Rules match for WM and just KILL them beyond any level of dead. I'm talking all 4 New Breed guys doing massive bladejobs, being put through tables, caned by Sandman, and all of them taking a 5 Star. Maybe even toss in a pre match promo with the Originals wondering if they still have it, and then Dreamer or someone tells them to give it all they've got one more time for ECW. I'd mark out for that shit.
ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2007 Along those lines, did Monty Brown/Marcus Cor Von ever bleed in TNA?
Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2007 I wouldn't call the New Breed talent "a bunch of workers that Vince/Steph" gush over.

Dobbs 3K 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2007 I liked last night's show, but the "main event" was weird. Lashley practically squashed Holly, and Tazz and Styles were like "Man, how'd Lashley do it?" I think Holly got in one chair shot on Lashley, but Lashley hit him five or six times with the chair. Also, what was with Umaga? Was the idea that he couldn't figure out how to get in the cage? It didn't seem like he had any purpose being there, other than for the cool spot to finish the show. Thanks for the Fish 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2007 Didn't TNA do a cage break not to long ago (on purpose or otherwise)? It looked like the cage was supposed to stop on the table set-up at ringside - at least it did to me. Eitherway, I think that spot will be in the ECW intro in the very near future. I am waiting to see Sandman vs Thorn in a Singapore cane vs Walking Staff match.
Big McLargeHuge 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2007 I got the idea he was keeping Lashley from escaping the cage, but yeah, his presence was odd. I was there last night in San Jose and the crowd went nuts when Lashley hit the cage.
ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2007 Umaga's presense made sense to me. McMahon sent him out to try to distract Lashley, so that Lashley would lose focus and time would run out, thus giving Holly the title win.
