ChrisMWaters Posted March 6, 2007 Report Posted March 6, 2007 And here's your obscure name to modern fans. On the other hand...RICKY STEAMBOAT APPEARANCE!
Downhome Posted March 6, 2007 Report Posted March 6, 2007 Seeing Baron like that, is just weird to me.
BorneAgain Posted March 6, 2007 Report Posted March 6, 2007 I had heard that been announced at some indy show that he was a future WWE Hall of Famer, so this is no surpise. And what the hell happened to Jim Brunzell?
Guest NYR10 Posted March 6, 2007 Report Posted March 6, 2007 I understand honoring the older wrestlers... But for this hall of fame thing to work, you have to induct people that the current fans actually give a shit about
Hawk 34 Posted March 6, 2007 Report Posted March 6, 2007 I understand honoring the older wrestlers... But for this hall of fame thing to work, you have to induct people that the current fans actually give a shit about That's why you got JR/King, Rhodes and Perfect already. Also, for a HOF to work...you'd have to induct...the older class. Which is generally the purpose of a HOF in any sport. It adds that little shred of credibility to it when you add people like Bockwinkel.
Mecca Posted March 6, 2007 Report Posted March 6, 2007 I understand honoring the older wrestlers... But for this hall of fame thing to work, you have to induct people that the current fans actually give a shit about Uh.....alot of current fans are 15 years old.....or just watched WWE, that wouldn't exactly be easy. There are alot of WWE fans that don't know who Mr. Perfect was I mean cmon.

Lets be honest, to most marks, Dusty Rhodes means nothing.
RepoMan Posted March 6, 2007 Report Posted March 6, 2007 Randy and Edge actually did a good job capturing a relationship near it's end when there's still a really small glimer of hope for reconciliation.
Conspiracy_Victim Posted March 6, 2007 Report Posted March 6, 2007 Does he not have Edge's back? Sounded like he was trying to convince himself with that second run though of the line. Either that or he was making sure he didn't screw up the delivery.

LooseCannon25 Posted March 6, 2007 Report Posted March 6, 2007 I understand honoring the older wrestlers... But for this hall of fame thing to work, you have to induct people that the current fans actually give a shit about Ummmm, no. It would then just be a mockery. I think it's a good thing they're honoring pioneers of wrestling even if their names don't hold up to well these days.

But for this hall of fame thing to work, you have to induct people that the current fans actually give a shit about That's why you got JR/King, Rhodes and Perfect already. Lets be honest, to most marks, Dusty Rhodes means nothing. So, explain why his dvd sold well. Or why he still gets a big pop when he appears. Dusty is a legend and in a good deal of the country, Rhodes was similar to Steve Austin. A guy who you apparently worship. You'd probably want to throw current wrestlers and the rejects of the attitude era into the HOF just so you can mark out.
Conspiracy_Victim Posted March 6, 2007 Report Posted March 6, 2007 Randy and Edge actually did a good job capturing a relationship near it's end when there's still a really small glimer of hope for reconciliation. So when do the lawyers get involved to decide who gets the fine china and silverware?

ChrisMWaters Posted March 6, 2007 Report Posted March 6, 2007 Why do I get the feeling that McMahon and Trump will be on the cover of the Mania 23 DVD, ala how Hogan and McMahon were the ones ont he Mania XIX DVD.
Boon Posted March 6, 2007 Report Posted March 6, 2007 I know it's been around for a while, but that WM promo is great. The E's video team is stellar.
Hawk 34 Posted March 6, 2007 Report Posted March 6, 2007 Also, in theory the WWE HOF should have a shelf life for as long as the WWE exists. They'll get to people like Austin, 'Taker, HHH and Foley in due time. Let's get the stars of the 70's, 80's and early 90's in first and establish a fucking legacy to the thing.
Exslade ZX Posted March 6, 2007 Report Posted March 6, 2007 Ok...that's just cool. I was just about to remark how shitty it was we went without a Nitro sighting.
LooseCannon25 Posted March 6, 2007 Report Posted March 6, 2007 Holy shit, MErcury looks like a gimp now.
Downhome Posted March 6, 2007 Report Posted March 6, 2007 You'd probably want to throw current wrestlers and the rejects of the attitude era into the HOF just so you can mark out. X-Pac so needs to go into the HOF this year. Either him, or just induct him in as a group with X-Factor. Either way will work dood!
Open the Muggy Gate Posted March 6, 2007 Report Posted March 6, 2007 And now playing the role of Hannibal Lector, Joey Mercury.
BorneAgain Posted March 6, 2007 Report Posted March 6, 2007 I'm seeing an MNM/Cena-HBK match for the titles next week.
UZI Suicide Posted March 6, 2007 Report Posted March 6, 2007 "But I'm also a huge Civil Rights activist" haha
Exslade ZX Posted March 6, 2007 Report Posted March 6, 2007 ...the fuck? edit- Oh screw you Edge, I actually dropped Nitro, and added Edge on my fantasy because I knew Edge had this match.
LooseCannon25 Posted March 6, 2007 Report Posted March 6, 2007 Edge is the fuckin man.....amazing how far he's come
Vampiro69 Posted March 6, 2007 Report Posted March 6, 2007 Edge is easily my favorite wrestler after that promo.
