The reason I am avoiding shooting people is because 3 cops pop up out of no where shooting at me with my 2 star rating.

 

 

I want to practice the melee thing some more too, because I am still off on dodging attacks. But I can't because one of the cities millions of cops comes up behind me to arrest me. then I have to run, get shot and have to go find hotdogs again.

 

Or just put in the health cheat code.

Theres a comedy club near Times Square, and it's got Ricky Gervais and Katt Williams doing actual stand-up as themselves. It's great! This game is great. I had the day off, and I didn't leave the house.

 

Yup, and you can even see the shows aired "live" from the club, on your TV set in the game.

I was going through the internet and did the lucky search (name might be wrong) and kept hitting the more sites button and a site titled "Lucky Lacy's Childs Pageant" showed up and i clicked on it and an FBI warning showed up saying i was looking at child pornography and so i exited and logged off and i got a 4 star wanted level from the site. As soon as i walked out the cops gunned me down... I find that to be an awesome easter egg. I was laughing my a** off while trying to get out the door without dying.

I was playing a little bit of multiplayer and Cops and Crooks is INSANELY fun. I was only playing with three other people, so it must be chaos with 16.

 

Free Mode seems like a great one for a bunch of friends to get together and just figure out different things to do.

Free Mode is AWESOME...Provided you have friends who just want to organize shit. Everytime I've played with people other then that, they just run around shooting each other and doing stupid shit.

 

There's nothing that rivals you and your friends standing a showdown with the cops. RPG's, AK 47's, all kinds of shit just blasting away at them. Not to mention the high speed getaways where you all have to work in tandem.

 

The mission Hangmans Noose is awesome...we've beaten it twice, and tried on Medium and Hard, but even on Easy it's difficult. Fun as hell though.

Question about the second island: Does it just randomly unlock? I figured there would be some notification since the entire reason it was blocked off was due to suspicion of terrorist activity, but I just randomly found myself on it during a mission for

Well, it's not so random, you just don't get any big storyline notification.

 

But if you listen to the radio/read the newspaper and other news articles on the internet it'll explain more in depth about the bridge opening up. Pretty cool feature too, and they seriously made the internet huge. There's plenty of articles, ads, and of course they change throughout the game with what you do, and what's talked about on the radio.

The internet is indeed great on this game. The MySpace parody is fucking hilarious, and I ended up getting the 4 star wanted level for accidentally clicking on the faux child porn site I mentioned hearing about earlier.

I love all the detal in the game but I am still not a huge fan of the gameplay honestly. At first I thought I just needed to get used to it, but if I have one more car chase and it take 8000 feet for me to finally brake from doing 40 miles perhour...

 

I understand what they were TRYING to do with the driving, but its only realistic if you are doing about 20mph. After that, it is way WAY over the top and just plain annoying. I was doing the part where you had to chase down the biker and it was just annoying as hell.

 

The Shooting, while it is better, still isn't great to me. I am still having to get Saint's out my head seeing as I was playing it nonstop right before I got this, but still.

 

I still like the game though. Its really cool, really deep and can be fun. Just...somethings are annoying.

I just finished Saints Row's final missions a week before GTA IV came out, and I am liking GTA's shooting systemmuch more than Saints.

I was playing Free Mode with a friend last night, and we armed ourselves to the teeth, and found a hospital...Where we proceeded to kill everyone in it, and make it our final stand.

 

First time, my friend made it up to six stars wanted, and we held out for a period of time...I couldn't find a good place to get cover, so I went down to a couple shots to the head. My friend amassed a six star rating, and picked the cops off as they came. My friend lasted a bit longer, but without a second gunner got overwhelmed due to the sheer numbers being thrown at us. He also found out that if you shoot the RPG's right into the moving doors, you'll take out anything outside and inside in that radius. Flaming bodyparts would almost literally rain down from the sky. At one point there was a flaming corpse on the ground, a SWAT member came in, touched the corpse and went up in a fireball, and we just watched him scream in pain until he died.

 

We rearmed ourselves and went back there for a second round...This time, he had his old spot behind a wall, and I found out I could use the reception desk for cover. He of course made sure to blow every patient up with grenades before the stand off began, and got reported for "possible terrorist activity" at the Hospital. This time went much smoother for us at first, because I had good cover and his spot proved to be good...However, he made a HUMAN ERROR (Like in all good action movies, one person messes up and puts the mission at risk~!) when he went to the sliding doors for a weapon or something, and got shotgunned from a cop right outside...He respawned a few times and helped me, but lost his huge inventory of weapons forcing him to use the pistol to good success. I remained behind the desk using the AK-47 and Sub Machine Gun to good success...I amassed the six stars this time, but I finally ran out of ammo, and with us both using pistols they eventually broke our defenses and took us out at the same time.

 

That may have been one of the most fun and action packed moments I've ever had.

Driving is ok if you don't go full throttle and balance the use of brake and handbrake, again it doesn't like if you slam the brake right down as it'll lock the tires up completely. They've kind of went for detail but not too much on the driving, and some cars are just wank no matter what you try.

Well, I guess it wouldn't be a GTA game without the annoying street races. Finally beat my first one after a few tries. I will say that at least the races are much more lenient in regards to hitting the checkpoints. It seems like as long as you're on the street, you hit the checkpoints.

 

I am at the point where I'm used to the driving, too. I hardly ever use the regular break. It's usually just all hand break.

It's worked all right half the time for me, but the other half of the time it disperses the party. If you're not in party mode, maybe it works better.

Actually, now you mention it, there's a few times when it'll drop back to single player, as it loses connection with one of my mates, but its same friend everytime, so its probably just router conflict.

I rented the game on Friday and at first, I didn't really care for the game because I felt the controls were bad, espically for driving. I hated driving. It was such a bitch to turn without running into something, but I've played a little more and gotten used to the controls and I'm enjoying the game much more. Though the radio sucks, where is the good Rock station? All I can find is rap or what I think is talk radio. Is there a rock station? Like with actual rock music?

There's "Liberty Rock" or something like that. Good station. Yeah I don't really care for a lot of the radio stations because I'm not a fan of rap or electronica/techno either. I still miss the classical station from GTA III. Driving around with that playing while riding around in one of the Mafia cars REALLY made you feel like a hitman.

 

Lazlow's return on Integrity 2.0 is pretty funny though.

I found a station that plays a big orchestra band song but I couldn't tell you what station it is off the top of my head, and I think the station only plays that one song. There's a dj that will talk a bit in-between the song playing, but I know after I heard the song end, the dj came on and said "ONE MORE TIME!" and the song started over.

 

What does the logo look like for the "Liberty Rock" station?
