NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2007 A's down 5-0 or 5-1(cbssportsline shows the A's scoring in the 6th, but doesn't have the run in the box score) going into the 7th inning.....however I am drunk(two tall cans of Mickeys and a bunch of Natty Ice) and just BBQ'd some bomb-ass Carne Asada on the grill(in fact it turned out so great I am going to buy some more in a little bit....thank you wondeful CA weather!! All night BBQS!!!) so I am not so annoyed.......a split in this series is reasonable thinking, and at least the A's are losing the one game of the series that is not televised. vivalaultra 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2007 Geez, I'm glad I was at a TV on the Radio concert instead of watching my Astros lose their 4th in a row. As everyone knows, if you don't see the loss happen, it doesn't count. Obviously they were going to lose at least 4 games this season, but it still sucks that they had to lose the first 4. Ah well, tomorrow and Sunday are favorable match-ups for em at least.
Guest Eagle Man Report post Posted April 7, 2007 Corey Patterson will wear #42 for Jackie Robinson Day, which means it'll be kind of funny when he has his typical three-strikeout game.
snuffbox 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2007 I can do without anymore games like last night's.
Guest Eagle Man Report post Posted April 7, 2007 If you discount the first inning, the other five that Bush pitched were pretty solid, plus they were wearing the ball-in-glove hats. So all in all, it could have been worse.
snuffbox 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2007 That's true. And, if you discount the 9th inning instead of Bush's 1st it would be 9-1. That's pretty sad. Bush did look alot better once he got past the 1st inning abomination. It seemed like for a few innings after spotting the Cubs that 6 run lead every Brewer came to the plate trying for a homerun. That kind of Jack-Bauer-as-ballplayer strategy never works.
snuffbox 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2007 That Prince Fielder at-bat was embarassing. Yeesh.
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2007 Igawa getting his first start for the Yankees, wearing sunglasses which I really cannot remember a pitcher doing. But he is having a fine game, 7 ERs on 7 hits with 3 walks, 2 Ks and an error. A fine start. On the plus side for the Yankees, A-Rod has homered again and has all the Yankee RBIs. Danville_Wrestling 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2007 DAMN. Lo Duca rips Smoltz in the top of the first and hits a solo HR over the left field wall to put the Mets up 1-0.
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2007 The Orioles bullpen blows a 7-3 lead and A-Rod gets the big game winning grand slam. So new players, same story but with an A-Rod twist.
Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2007 All this with 2 outs. Cano single, Jeter walk, Abreu HBP, with an A-Rod Grand Slam sized A-Bomb. And he smacked that shit to dead center in the black.
Danville_Wrestling 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2007 An error by Carlos Delgado on a 4-3 play results in the tieing run getting on base and eventually scoring in the bottom of the first. Could've been worse as the Braves had the bases loaded with one out.

Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2007 Reds win another game with good performence by the bullpen. I was supposed to be there tonight but they pulled the start time up and I wasn't getting out of work this morning. It's not that cold out there. A good way to spend a night in the brisk weather watching a ballgame.
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2007 All this with 2 outs. Cano single, Jeter walk, Abreu HBP, with an A-Rod Grand Slam sized A-Bomb. And he smacked that shit to dead center in the black. Don't forget, two strikes. Ray was all over the damn place so it was only a matter of getting guys up who could smack it. Doug almost did him in but Gomez saved him there. No one was saving that ball from A-Rod, he killed that sucker.
Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2007 I really thought he was going to swing and miss again, because of the pitch before where he whiffed.
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2007 I really thought he was going to swing and miss again, because of the pitch before where he whiffed. If he had swung and missed, I think he might have started crying on home plate as they booed him out of the city. There was no way he was missing, that ball was belt high, dead center and didn't even look like it had much on it. That was one of those "HIT ME!" pitches. Should have thrown one low but he didn't appear to have command of anything. That was ugly considering Traschel actually pitched decent. I really don't get why anytime Baltimore signs someone to strengthen the bullpen, he comes in and looks like the same damn unready rookies he was being asked to replace. Danville_Wrestling 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2007 Mike Diaz hits a Glavine fastball over the left field wall to put the Mets behind for the first time all season long 2-1 with one out in the bottom of the 2nd. It's hilarious to see how bundled up Jones is in CF for today's game but it is only 41 degrees out there so I can't say I blame him.
Guest Report post Posted April 7, 2007 Same old song from us. Great pitching, no hitting. I hate it.
Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2007 Walking batters ended up losing the game for them (before Giambi HR, before A-Rod HR). Ray's nice, but I think that's the 2nd time he blew a save against the Yankees on a HR (Posada last time).
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2007 Walking batters ended up losing the game for them (before Giambi HR, before A-Rod HR). Ray's nice, but I think that's the 2nd time he blew a save against the Yankees on a HR (Posada last time). He's like every Oriole closer since Gregg Olson left. When he's on, he's on. But when he's off, god damn you are just waiting for him to give up a long ball to lose it. Sometimes they just gotta admit he doesn't have his stuff and go to someone else, you aren't hurting his confidence if you keep giving him chances in those situations. But leaving him in there after two hard hit balls, a walk and a hit batter ISN'T going to help him. Yesterday he was on. Today, he was miserable and just waiting to blow it and sure enough he did. Danville_Wrestling 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2007 Looks like some of the Cards bad fielding has rubbed off on the Mets as they have 2 errors today and just had a costly one with Shawn Green dropping a fly ball in right field that saw Andruw Jones score from third and give the Braves a 3-2 lead and load the bases again. migoli 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2007 I dont know about you guys or if anyone has seen a game played in this 20 degree weather but its frustrating. I just watched the Twins-White Sucks game but every batter seemed so slow, i dont know if its the cold or being so early yet but damn it that just sucked
Guest Queen Leelee Report post Posted April 7, 2007 2 HR, 6 RBI, game-winning Grand Slam for Mr. April. Oh, and how nice of DEEJ to be supportive of him. A great leader.

EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2007 I dont know about you guys or if anyone has seen a game played in this 20 degree weather but its frustrating. I just watched the Twins-White Sucks game but every batter seemed so slow, i dont know if its the cold or being so early yet but damn it that just sucked I sat in 35 degree weather today to watch Scranton/Norfolk. It snowed at times (but didn't stick). It wasn't bad for a time but the cold gets to you after three hours in it. It's not very fun to sit in. Jimmy Rollins hit an inside-the-park home run off Dontrelle Willis. De Aza took a bad route trying to cut it off and it got by him.
strummer 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2007 Mets play their usual frustrating game against John Smoltz where they get tons of base runners but can't get the big hit (13 LOB today)Glavine was let down by his defense in a call back to the nightmare 03-04 seasons. And yes Paul F"N Lo Duca hit a homerun off of John Smoltz
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted April 8, 2007 Brett Myers is not having a good outing. Even a few outs have been long, hard hit balls. Josh Willingham is now a single away from a cycle.
