Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2007 WWE probably mailed in this episode knowing it was going to get murdered by the NCAA final tonight. Why else would the tag division get 30+ minutes of valuable post-WM Raw time? The game, historically hasn't affected ratings and that never stopped them from big angles in the past before. strummer 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2007 This RAW reminds me of the old Post WM Primetimes where nothing would really happen and it allowed the audience to "soak in" Mania from the night before
Conspiracy_Victim 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2007 I still can't believe that they're calling his running powerslam a "Dominator". DAMN! That was a crappy Pounce on Umaga as well.

That was a decent episode of ECW. When does RAW come on again?

The guy that took the stunner, and has been unable to get the job done on back to back nights against Lashley even with tons of help is looking strong? He took the stunner but took Austin out. Lashley sold for Shane McMahon.

Downhome 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2007 Ugh. Umaga was in one of the three main events at WM this year, and looked very strong in the match. He totally kicked Austin's ass before Austin finally got payback and Lashley finally got the pin. Then, tonight, he pretty much ruled the match and didn't get pinned, his manager did. Umaga is just fine right now.
Downhome 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2007 The moron's on WWE.com screwed up again. Before the match with Umaga/Lashley, they had this on the site: ECW World Champion Bobby Lashley defeated Umaga at WrestleMania, and was responsible for the egomaniacal Chairman Mr. McMahon leaving Ford Field a bald billionaire after the Battle of the Billionaires Match. One night later on Raw, Lashley once again defeated Umaga, this time in a Handicap Match also featuring Armando Estrada. What new challenges await the dominant ECW Champion? 2GOLD 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2007 I didn't see Umaga hurt at all either. If anything, he destroyed Lashley and it was obvious that AAE was tossed in to protect him from the pin. WWE is just really hurting Lashley more than anything else because they are into "shove him down your throats until you cheer" mode which never works. They are pushing really hard to establish the guy by having him essentially do nothing but stand up to Vince. Beating Umaga over and over again when Umaga wasn't even really established just doesn't work for me. He needs a big win and Umaga just doesn't feel like a big win. He needs a big win and Umaga just doesn't feel like a big win. Not to mention that Umaga was coming off of a failed title chase and jobbing to Cena before the Lashley program. I don't think that jobbing to Cena hurt Umaga, but it didn't really build him up to make him seem like a mega threat for Lashley either.

I don't think that jobbing to Cena hurt Umaga, but it didn't really build him up to make him seem like a mega threat for Lashley either. Exactly. Feels like they have two guys just stuck on the same level and neither one of them is getting built up by this feud. It's not their faults, just comes off like they were both part of rushed planning to stick two wrestlers into the Vince/Trump battle. I mean, Bobby comes in as this supposedly monster champion but when the fans turned on ECW...he was pinning Hardcore Holly and Test. One of which isn't even in the company anymore. The RVD feud didn't help him since the fans WANTED Rob to win because RVD was the bigger face of ECW. He won the title in a forgettable Elimination Chamber match at a ECW PPV that even the WWE seems to want to pretend didn't happen. Truthfully his whole build is non-existent. cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2007 Why not just job Umaga out at this point? Really? He's served his usefulness. Jobbed out hard to Cena. Jobbed to Lashley, with another probable job coming at Backlash to blow it off once and for all. Honestly what else can you do with the guy besides shunt him off to the tag division to team with the Great Khali as the New Colossal Connection? Or rehire Rosey and have them be 3MW again or the New Samoans? He's still got the IC title for some reason I can't possibly discern, and I'm not quite sure who on Raw can beat him for the belt since all the guys on that level are an ill fit for Umaga. As far as next week goes, I think we all know Edge is running in on the Michaels/Orton match and that will end up a 4 way at the PPV. Cena overcomes the PPV odds yet again! Orton will job on PPV yet again!

Mike wanna be 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2007 The Lashley vs Umaga match had a ECW crowd type feel to it. No one gave a shit about what was going on, and the lighting looked different. Clearly they were shutting off the lights row by row as fans filed out. Seriously, nobody gives a shit about either Lashley or Umaga any more now that the BotB is over, so giving them 15 minutes was a joke. When a face beats up and pins a heel's manager, the place is supposed to go apeshit (see: anyone [namely Hogan or Warrior] v Heenan, anyone v Heyman during Brock's run...), not "Meh." There's no upper midcard any more. You're either main eventing or in the midcard; without that upper midcard you get what we've had for months now, midcarders launched to the ME for no explainable reason and main eventers dropping to the midcard equally as fast. There's no build because there's nobody there to build with.
Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2007 I think that being in one of the three marquee WM matches, particularly one with all the mainstream media attention, is a pretty good career high for Jamal. I mean, that's way more than anyone ever expected of the guy when he showed up. Send him away to ECW, sez I.
Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2007 has it been confirmed yet whether or not that really was a blown spot by Kendrick? I mean, obviously, we're all smart enough to know it was, just wondering if there's been any confirmation from guys like Meltzer and what not?
Guest phoenixdown2112 Report post Posted April 3, 2007 I think it was a blown spot...Kendrick's response and Gregory Helms look of shock pretty much tell you that...but I think the team that won was the intended team all along I just think that it was supposed to come down to The Hardy's and Londrick and let the two teams steal the show...they've kinda been hyping that on Smackdown at least JBL has talking about how the two teams measure up over the past few weeks...just my 2 cents
