"No-skip" Albums

Recommended Posts

I would've fit in well back when vinyl reigned supreme. Can you imagine having to get up, lift the needle and place it back down accurately on the right groove every time you wanted to skip a track? Preposterous.

Easy there, junior. I remember doing exactly that when I was a kid. I remember the album too, Star Wars and Other Intergalactic Funk by MECO.

That's right. Disco Star Wars. And it was good.

Correction. It still is.

Zombie Apocalypse - This is a Spark of Life (easy to do so with its 11-minute running time)

Municipal Waste - Hazardous Mutation

Slayer - Reign in Blood (though I'm always tempted to skip "Criminally Insane")

Iron Maiden - Piece of Mind

Iron Maiden - A Matter of Life and Death

Dream Theater - Metropolis Pt. II - Scenes From a Memory (has to be listened all the way through, no skips, due to the story of it)

White Zombie - Astro-Creep 2000 (tempted to during "Creature of the Wheel" now and again, though)

Pantera - Far Beyond Driven

Summers End - Summers End

Unearth - III: In the Eyes of Fire

The Black Dahlia Murder - Unhallowed

The Black Dahlia Murder - Miasma (listening to the MANY songs that have obvious Morbid Angel influence is part of the fun)

The Misfits - Coffin Set Disc I (so Caroline Collection I and II; the only Danzig-era song I really don't care for is "Come Back," actually)

sticks & stones....

redbaron, i agree. gary floyd, i'll respect you when you stop posing as an allmusic dictionary. public image ltd? see, you people are told to like garbage. and the mere fact you commented on a no skip album thread with sincere answers simply reinforces my opinion your musical credentials have little to be desired. you post here but i bet you're the type to look down on greatest hits albums. get your gimmick right, douche.

Weren't you just saying in the "Bad covers" thread that people should be able to like whatever they want?

Huh. I generally have a really hard time getting through the self-titled. Actually, I have a hard time with You Forgot it in People too, but for different reasons. The self-titled is bloated and ponderous, while YFIIP is full of songs good enough to leave me satisfied no matter where I stop.

Bonnie 'Prince' Billy-"I See a Darkness"

Bruce Springsteen-"Nebraska"

if i had to contribute anything to this thread

i'd throw down that dylan from brighting it all back home to nashville skyline are unquestionably no brainers. to see only blonde on blonde mentioned from thsi streak is sorta embarrassing. especially with springsteen's name just thrown out there.

If you think that they deserve to be mentioned, why don't you/haven't you mentioned them? I thought that was the point of the thread. To sit back and have a preconceived idea about what other people should respond with and then get pissy when they don't respond with your preconceived idea is ridiculous. If you think that those albums should be mention them, mention them and be done with it. Yeesh.
