Guest Report post Posted April 17, 2007 Joey Crawford got suspended indefinitely, and at the very least for the rest of the season. I'm sure he wants to fight David Stern.
SteakGrowsOnUecker 0 Report post Posted April 17, 2007 It's frustrating that it has to come down to this last game against New Jersey because I still feel they should not have lost that game to Cleveland a few weeks back when Lebron hit a couple shots to win in overtime. That was such a bullshit loss. They win that one game and they would have the 2nd seed locked right now.
Ripper 0 Report post Posted April 17, 2007 Joey Crawford got suspended indefinitely, and at the very least for the rest of the season. I'm sure he wants to fight David Stern. Rasheed has been kicked out of games for laughing, and looking at a ref, I saw him get a tech in Atlanta for doing a chest bump with Antonio Mcdyess(seriously) while the Hawks were bringing the ball up to call a timeout. He has gotten techs for casually waving his hand after a foul call. Tim Duncan on the other hand complains about EVERY call. (seriously, watch a Spurs game...EVERY call and so does Bowen). I don't like the fact that that they are finally punishing Crawford for getting Duncan with the same shitty calls he has given other players in the league for years. I want them to be consistant with it. And yes, I understand that my favorite team has two of the biggest complainers in the league (Nash/D'antoni) but I don't care. stay even with tech calls all around. Rasheed gets at least 8 really really bad ones a year. Duncan has a couple of hundred instances where he should have gotten one but didn't. I don't like them making superstar bias so blatant
Just John 0 Report post Posted April 17, 2007 Thank god Joey Crawford's gone. He was one of the worst officials I've ever seen. No player should be kicked out of a game for laughing on the bench. Hopefully Bavetta does something really stupid in the next couple of games so we can get rid of his whistle-happy ass too.
Golgo 13 0 Report post Posted April 17, 2007 I've never thought Bavetta was that bad. Steve Javie I hate.
Guest Queen Leelee Report post Posted April 17, 2007 Can someone explain the support Crawford is getting for this situation? He kicked a player out of a game for laughing on the bench. How can anyone justify him ever officiating a game again?
USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted April 18, 2007 I was shocked people like Michael Wilbon was defending him saying he was one of the best, if not the best ref in the league. If that was the case, he wouldn't be throwing people out for laughing.
Just John 0 Report post Posted April 18, 2007 I've never thought Bavetta was that bad. Steve Javie I hate. Bavetta was in charge of Game 5 of the Finals last year and Game 6 of the Lakers/Kings WCF. He sucks. I'm not too familiar with Javie's body of work, but since I know he's an NBA "veteran" official, I'll assume he's terrible too.

Bored 0 Report post Posted April 18, 2007 Mavericks have decided not to stand in the way of the Warriors getting in as they sat Nowitzski and Howard tonight. Warriors are just pummeling them right now, 55-31 into the half.
Just John 0 Report post Posted April 18, 2007 Mavericks have decided not to stand in the way of the Warriors getting in as they sat Nowitzski and Howard tonight. Warriors are just pummeling them right now, 55-31 into the half. Yep, looks like a conspiracy to get GS in. While Dallas is playing the scrubs in Oakland, Phoenix is playing their starters against the Clips. Edit: But it looks like the Suns didn't hold up their end of the bargain. GS will still have to beat Portland tomorrow or hope LA loses to the Hornets. Last day of the Season and it looks like a playoff spot will still be up for grabs, as well the 2 seed in the East. Pretty good regular season, eh?
Ripper 0 Report post Posted April 18, 2007 Fucking suns lose so the Warriors have to win in Portland. So now I need the Warriors to beat Portland and the Lakers to beat Sacramento and My playoffs will look how I want them to look.
alfdogg 0 Report post Posted April 18, 2007 After tonight and after the Laker game Thursday, I don't know that I can blame Avery for letting the Warriors run over them. 50 bucks Brandon Roy turns up missing tommorrow.
Ripper 0 Report post Posted April 18, 2007 I think that Avery didn't want to give the Warriors too much confindence going into the playoffs. Lets not forget, they have kinda kicked the crap out of Dallas all year. Him not playing starters was like saying "We aren't afraid of you, so get the spot. we could care less." Oh they fucking care. Warriors get in and its not such a cake walk for Dallas. Long series with the Warriors then have to run up on the Rockets(or Utah, but seriously....Rockets...) Man. The west playoffs are going to be brutal.
alfdogg 0 Report post Posted April 18, 2007 Neither team would be a cakewalk for the Mavs. Thing is, you never know which Clippers are going to show up. I thought they would had a great chance last year had they met, as well. But we'll see who gets in first...the Warriors are a poor road team, and Portland can beat anyone on a given night. Same with New Orleans, but that game's in LA.

Failed Bridge 0 Report post Posted April 18, 2007 Can someone explain the support Crawford is getting for this situation? He kicked a player out of a game for laughing on the bench. How can anyone justify him ever officiating a game again? It actually reminded me alot of that moment in the movie Forget Paris when Billy Crystal goes nuts and starts tossing people for laughing at him. I don't see how Crawford can be allowed to ref another Spurs game for the duration of Duncan's career.
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted April 18, 2007 I want to get tickets for that Warriors game tonight, if I hadn't already promised my friend I'd go see their show. This would pretty much be the Blazers' last hurrah, playing spoiler at the end of the season, although on the other hand, I hate the Clippers and would like to see them get knocked out of the playoffs also. Apparently there's also a rumor going around that Rick Adelman would take a position with the Blazers as president. Is this kind of like Pat Riley doing the same thing with the Heat? That would be kind of shitty for McMillan, if only because there could be that sort of unnecessary pressure put on him.
Guest Eagle Man Report post Posted April 18, 2007 Fucking Cavaliers won. Jersey's up to 6th, so now the Bulls are slated to feast on the corpse of the Washington Wizards. But if things go awry, they get Wade and the Heat, will probably be bounced in the first, and Skiles will be out of town.
Star Ocean 3 0 Report post Posted April 18, 2007 The Clippers don't deserve the playoff spot with how they played against the Kings. That said, I hope they and the Blazers win.

Ripper 0 Report post Posted April 18, 2007 If skiles keeps getting bounced in the first round, they aren't giong to keep him. they are going to go the "Need a coach to take us to the next level" route.
USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted April 18, 2007 I think Bulls can take Heat. I'd be more worried about the Nets.
Ripper 0 Report post Posted April 18, 2007 Really. Playing the Heat in a close game and it becomes 8 on 5. I wouldn't like those odds.
USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted April 18, 2007 How does it become 8-on-5? The Bulls almost beat the eventual champions last year with a smaller squad. Even though I have always been a detractor of Ben Wallace coming to Chicago, the changes are undeniable. They are more equipped to handle Miami. The Nets has been their thorn in the side, outside that recent blowout a few weeks ago. Yeah give a 7 game series, I'll take my chances with Miami than New Jersey. Guest Eagle Man Report post Posted April 18, 2007 How does it become 8-on-5? I'm giving you a technical foul for even asking! Oh, as for Skiles being gone, Simmons mentioned that the Celtics might go after him after this year. I don't know if that's true or if it's just typical delusional Boston sports fan rambling, but I think Skiles needs to win one stinkin' playoff series or he's in danger of being shown the door. World's Worst Man 0 Report post Posted April 18, 2007 If Chicago beats New Jersey and Washington beats Indiana tonight, Washington gets 6th and Toronto gets the free pass through the first round. I'm kind of torn. On one hand, it'd be nice to beat Vince Carter, on the other hand, Washington is a complete free pass while New Jersey might actually go 5 or 6 games. Ripper 0 Report post Posted April 18, 2007 You have the 5 heat players and the three refs. I never wanted to jump on the "The refs love Wade" crowd, but seriously, at least 3-4 laughable calls come in clutch time when the guy is on the floor. As for Wallace to the bulls, I said this before and I will say it again. I don't think he is making any difference. He isn't giving them anything Tyson Chandler wasn't giving them. Plus, Chandler plays Oneil better than Wallace. Wallace is a incredible help defender and when he can roam, he is one of the more dangerous players on the court defensively. In detroit, they have a all defensive player at point (Chicago has a damn fine defender at point in Hinrich) the ridiculously underrated defender in Hamilton (Gordon....not so much) a guy that should be a all defensive player in Prince (Deng....not so much) and incredible defender in Rasheed Wallace (Tyrus Thomas....not so much, although he will get a athletic block or two). Removing players that don't need help defensively limites Bens effectiveness. I think he could be a difference maker against the Nets, who are more prone to offensive lapses and don't have a dominant big to make ben pay (Miki Moore is not going to knock Wallace around like Shaq/mourning). Plus they are a perimeter shooting team and Wallace can swallow the boards against a team like that. Agaist a team like the heat that always go to the rim....not so much. Don't get me wrong, I think the Bulls could possibly take the Heat, just like I think they could have taken them last year. But I think Nocioni and his Antoine Walker owning not being there is going to hurt. I think Skiles not giving Shefelosha(sp) enough time this year to get used to playing NBA speed is going to hurt. I think Tyrus Thomas's tendancy to get lost defensively is giong to hurt against the back cutting Heat. Basically, I just don't like the Heat/Bulls matchup.
