Nate Posted June 14, 2007 Report Posted June 14, 2007 i know people are saying they are not looking forward to the show, but i think its gonna be alot better then the card looks, its mainly because there are very few well known names on the PPV, i think Yushin will win as will Hector Ramerez considering the way the upsets have been happening in UFC

Still his only loss. Seemed like a bad ass fight. I guess that PPV doesn't seem all bad, but I'm still gonna skip it and hope for the good matches to find their way online.

Dawg, with the amount of useless shit I've bought in the past year, buying this card in my case isn't throwing away money. I got more then enough to buy this card. I problay would've went to the bar and watch this if it was Franklin/Kampmann, but Franklin/Okami has me sold.

Scott Smith currently bleeding profusely but I'm hoping he can turn this around and take care of Herman. I hate Ed Herman. Cocky, ugly ginger fucker. And Smith, on the other hand, provides an entertaining fight EVERY time win or lose. He should have a lifetime contract.

I'd have to watch it 4 more times to digest it all. FOTN, FOTY, whatever. It was beautiful. Made the purchase worth the money.
Mik Posted June 16, 2007 Report Posted June 16, 2007 The whole PPV was pretty decent. The things that annoyed me/I didn't like: Forrest fighting scared. Forrest's shitty attitude. "I didn't train very hard for this fight." FU. The first two rounds of Okami/Franklin. I was really hoping that Rich tapped to that kimura in the third round. It was close and he showed great submission defense getting out of it. The coolest part of Griffin/Ramirez was having The Natural in one corner and Rampage in the other. Worth the money for Griffin/Guida, but overall suprisingly good. I just wish that Okami and Scott Smith ended up winning. I really hope that Anderson defends his belt now because I'm curious to see a Franklin/Silva rematch.
Youth N Asia Posted June 16, 2007 Report Posted June 16, 2007 Griffin/Guida was fucking awesome. I had Clay winning 29-28, and from everyone's disaproval at Hooters at the outcome so did they. That kimura Okami had on Rich was absolutly sick. If it hadn't been so late in the fight where Rich was obvisouly winning I would not have been suprised to see him tap. Solid show overall. Hooters is definatly the way to go. I ordered about $15 worth of stuff, I had a pretty girl refill my pop, and got to see a $40 ppv

Herman coming out to Phil Collins, Guida bouncing down to his poppy rock, MacDonald with the Metallica, Forrest brings the Dropkick Murphys and Okami wants to Kill Bill. -Smith/Herman was a fun fight, the blood was wonderful and the kneebar attempt had everybody at my place freaking out over another possible Smith comeback. - Yup. Guida/Griffin was that good. And yup, Guida got fucked, no two ways about it. - The first round of MacDonald/Singer had me worried but then I remembered that Jason was getting the shit beat out of him by Leben in the first round and I figured he'd come on strong in the second. Also, Rory Singer has one of the worst nicknames in MMA. As I said when I heard it last night, Outburst sounds like the name of a feminine hygiene product. And he came down to fucking Black Eyed Peas. - Forrest makes no effort to take the fight to the ground for some reason and more or less gets on his bicycle for the whole fight. Whatever. His entrance music ruled. - The third round of Okami/Franklin made up for the first two being dull as fuck and really had me rooting for Okami. Makes me wonder what Franklin would've done if a guy with the skills of, say, Marqurdt had put him in those kind of positions. - Hey guys, Marcus Davis is no longer a boxer. But still a really old man.

I don't think people are giving Okami enough credit for how skilled he actually is. People seem to think that the third round of the fight was some sort of indictment of Franklin's skills, as opposed to Okami proving that he actually has the ability to compete at the upper tier of the division. On a side note: Comparitively to Marquardt, I'd say Nate has the edge in striking & submissions, while Okami has the advantage with wrestling & positioning skills.
