slimm44 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2007 Tonight, Raw rolls into Nashville, Tenn. John Cena successfully retained his WWE Championship at Backlash in a Fatal Four Way Match against Shawn Michaels, Randy Orton and Edge. Will the WWE Champion be forced to defend his title again in the Music City? WWE Chairman Mr. McMahon shocked the world by pinning ECW’s Bobby Lashley to become the new ECW World Champion at Backlash. Will Mr. McMahon make an appearance in Nashville? Will Umaga and Shane McMahon be attendance? Now that he has ECW gold, will Mr. McMahon continue to punish Bobby Lashley? Also at Backlash, Melina successfully defended her Women’s Championship against Mickie James, and The Hardys turned back Cade & Murdoch to retain the World Tag Team Championship. Who will be the next to step up and challenge Melina? Can any of the Raw tag teams give the high-flying Hardys a run for their money? Find out all this and more on Raw, tonight at 9/8 CT on USA Network. Announced matches on wwe.com -Orton vs. Edge

UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2007 Uh, who exactly are they considering the "Raw tag teams"... Someone needs to inform the WWE.com writing staff that The Highlanders, TWGTT, and Cryme Tyme have permanent spots on Heat to fill up before Raw goes on the air. Raw has no other teams. Maybe Carlito/Flair finally gets the trigger pulled tonight and we find out just how bad a wrestling match can be.

slimm44 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2007 Add Umaga vs. RVD to the show as well.
UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2007 Jimmy Wayne Yang. I'm not following your question. Umaga and RVD could have an exciting garbage match at One Night Stand, so let's do the match on Raw instead. I hope Vince destroys the ECW Title tonight. Downhome 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2007 RVD TO BE PUNISHED: Also last night, WWE Chairman Mr. McMahon shocked the world by pinning Bobby Lashley to become the new ECW World Champion. Following the match, Rob Van Dam had some choice words about Mr. McMahon's victory in a WWE.com exclusive video. WWE.com learned late this afternoon that the Chairman was upset with RVD's words, and as punishment, he has called the ECW Original to Raw to face the Samoan Bulldozer, Umaga. Will RVD be able to survive the wrath of Umaga & Mr. McMahon? Here is the video that's talking about.

Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2007 Jimmy Wayne Yang. I'm not following your question. Jamie Knoble's still employed, right? If they don't intend on using them as CW's just put them together as another hick-based tag team. You can never enough redneck teams.
Dobbs 3K 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2007 LOL...that's how they should've kept the Sabu character.
theintensifier 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2007 At least RVD gets to be on Raw again, but too bad he's going to get squashed.

theintensifier 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2007 Although its awfully lame that McMahon is the ECW champion, the reactions by the former champions alludes to a possible angle of them trying to destroy McMahon, which would be pretty cool.

Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2007 Although its awfully lame that McMahon is the ECW champion, the reactions by the former champions alludes to a possible angle of them trying to destroy McMahon, which would be pretty cool. That was the basis of the Originals-New Breed angle. I'll be damned if they toss aside the awesomness with Punk and Burke for McMahon.
King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2007 Isn't the Originals going after McMahon basically the same as the angle when Sandman first won the title in the 'real' ECW? Everyone cutting a promo on him, questioning whether he deserved to be World Heavyweight Champion because he was a brawler and not a wrestler?

Agreed that Punk/Burke is awesomeness, however, it would be awesome to see McMahon get his ass handed to him by the likes of the Originals, especially RVD. cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2007 This can't lead to anything decent with RVD as things stand now. If he does sign a new deal, he'll beat Vince and win the ECW belt. If he doesn't sign, he'll be jobbed out to Umaga, Vince, and everyone else under the sun. Rob, time for the old knee injury to flare up.
Downhome 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2007 Bobby Lashley is injured - from PWInsider: World Wrestling Entertainment announced this afternoon that Bobby Lashley suffered a shoulder injury at last night's Backlash PPV and was sent to Birmingham, Alabama to be diagnosed by Dr. James Andrews. I am told that Lashley had been dealing with some nagging shoulder injuries for awhile, so it may be that he was gutting it out long enough to drop the ECW title before undergoing treatment. And from WWE.com: http://www.wwe.com/shows/ecw/news/lashleyshoulder Former ECW World Champion Bobby Lashley is in Birmingham, Ala. today waiting to meet with renowned orthopedic surgeon Dr. James Andrews to have his shoulder examined after suffering an injury during last night’s 3-on-1 Handicap Match at Backlash. Lashley lost the championship last night to Mr. McMahon after the Chairman, Shane McMahon and Umaga overwhelmed him during the Handicap Match. It has been suggested that Lashley's shoulder injury has been lingering since WrestleMania 23. Lashley may have further aggravated the injury during his match last night. WWE.com will give more updates as they become available. Dr. Andrews is respected as the preeminent physician athletes seek when they suffer sports injuries. He has performed surgery on Triple H after “The Game” tore his quadriceps muscles on two separate occasions. It looks like we might actually get a Vince/Originals feud now. UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted May 1, 2007 Maybe Foley's "huge angle" (which seems to be the new "Is HBK coming back?" circa 1998) has something WWE wants to carefully be able to edit if the content is questionable.
NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted May 1, 2007 Vince winning the ECW title kind of turned things upside down for the ECW show because up till now Vince has mostly just been involved with Lashley, while the Originals have been feuding with the New Breed. However now, it seems like wwe.com is eluding to the Originals starting a feud with McMahon, but of course it would make sense for Vince to be a manager for the New Breed from the get-go, but it is just that he got himself involved with the Lashley stuff first. Of course, this could be stealing the thunder of the CM Punk angle unless all of it somehow ties in together....!?! Personally I could get by with Vince just being involved with Lashley, because then I basically treated ECW like two shows...The New ECW and Vince/Lashley segment........now I am not sure how it's going to work, besides each member of the Originals getting squashed and buried...(and possibly "come to terms with")
