Tony Schiavone and Jesse Ventura

Recommended Posts

Maybe JR and Paul E (I'm trying to remember if Heyman did Halloween Havoc 90 or Starrcade 90, and those two would be the only possibilities).

Other than that, I think Tony and Jesse are it.

Did Savage ever do commentary for WCW?

I'm pretty sure he did the Main Event preshow for Slamboree 1995, but that was with Eric Bischoff and Dusty Rhodes.

I don't know if he did the Slamboree pre-show but he definitely the Main Event show before the 8/95 Clash of Champions (the Main Event show had the Hogan-Kamala match)

Jim Ross and Michael Hayes.

Jim Ross and Jim Cornette

Pay per view though, not sure if they ever did pay per views together.

Jim Ross and Paul E. Dangerously did at least Halloween Havoc 1990 together, so yeah, I'm wrong.

They did Starrcade together too, I'm pretty sure.

I believe you are right. Well then there are only two duos to ever do it. Still interesting and really impressive.

Sorry to go a little off-topic, but in regards to Savage on commentary in the WWF, why was he doing it in the first place? Was he injured at the time, or just trying something new in the company?

IIRC, he began commentary after losing the retirement match at WM7 to the Warrior.

I always saw it as a way to keep him in the company and not have him wrestle after WrestleMania VII. In 1993 I saw it as Vince McMahon thinking Randy Savage's best days were behind him, but he was a fan favorite, and he had charsima as an announcer. I am not certain on this.
