Longdogger_Pete 0 Report post Posted July 20, 2007 It says something about how shitty Day 6 of 24 was that it was the first day not to be nominated for best Drama Series though Kiefer got nominated for best Lead Actor. ...Kiefer was in it this season? luke-o 0 Report post Posted July 20, 2007 I'm gutted at the small amount of Heroes nominations, but even more so that Earl has been snubbed. Fuck Ricky Gervais. I hope this statement is based entirely upon Extras (which I have not seen) rather than his work on The Office or his stand up. Sorry it's based on all of his work, I just don't think the guy is funny. Gervais, like Russell Brand might be really funny but I can get past the fact I want to hit them in the face with a cricket bat really hard. Twice.
DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted July 20, 2007 Colbert's gotta win something this year. "I think you've made a terrible mistake" - John Stewart winning an Emmy over Colbert last year.

Not sure if you'll get the Jamie Oliver bit though.
treble 0 Report post Posted July 21, 2007 30 Rock really isn't that good outside of Alec Baldwin. Earl is much better, and Ethan Suplee really should be nominated for being the best part of the show.
Hank Kingsley 0 Report post Posted August 21, 2007 They've finally released a list of the six episodes chosen by each show nominated for Best Series. The way this works is Each DVD contains two episodes (I would assume in the order they're listed), and every judge gets a random DVD from each series. I think the thing NBC's comedies ran into was that hour-long or supersized episodes had to count as two episodes since it's longer than the usual running time. Anyway: BEST DRAMA SERIES "Boston Legal" "Lincoln" "On the Ledge" "Angel of Death" "The Good Lawyer" "Son of the Defender" "Trial of the Century" "Grey’s Anatomy" "Let the Angels Commit" "From a Whisper to a Scream" "Six Days Part 1" "Six Days Part 2" "Wishin’ and Hopin'" "Some Kind of Miracle" "Heroes" "Godsend" "The Fix" "Distractions" "Run" "Unexpected" "Company Man" "House" "Lines in the Sand" "Que Sera Sera" "Son of Coma Guy" "Half-Wit" "Merry Little Christmas" "Top Secret" "The Sopranos" "Soprano Home Movies" "The Blue Comet" "Stage 5" "Kennedy and Heidi" "The Second Coming" "Made in America" BEST COMEDY SERIES "Entourage" "One Day in the Valley" "Sorry, Ari" "Less than 30" "Dog Day Afternoon" "Return of the King" "The Resurrection" "The Office" "Benihana Christmas Part 1" "Benihana Christmas Part 2" "Gay Witch Hunt" "The Negotiation" "Business School" "Traveling Salesmen" "30 Rock" "Tracy Does Conan" "Fireworks" "Jack-Tor" "The Break Up" "The Head and the Hair" "Hard Ball" "Two and a Half Men" "The Sea is a Harsh Mistress" "It Never Rains in Hooterville" "Taped, Tucked, and Gorgeous" "Young People Have Phlegm Too" "Apologies for the Frivolity" "Repeated Blows to His Unformed Head" "Ugly Betty" "Pilot" "Fey’s Sleigh Ride" "The Lyin’, the Watch, and the Wardrobe" "I’m Coming Out" "Don’t Ask, Don't Tell" "East Side Story"
Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted August 21, 2007 Out of the Office episodes I'd go with the X-Mas one or Traveling Salesman.
ZGangsta 0 Report post Posted August 21, 2007 Yeah, I think the general consensus these days is that The Wire never being nominated for anything completely invalidates this stupid contest.
Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted August 21, 2007 That and motherfucking Aida Turturro getting nominated. Goddamn I hate that bitch.
Atticus Chaos 0 Report post Posted August 21, 2007 BSG getting some important nominations gave me some faith in the emmys this year. I think the scandal last year with Ellen Burnstyn changed things (she got nominated for 34 seconds on screen on account of them just throwing in her name because she was a oscar winning actress and not actually bothering to watch the movie she was in otherwise they would have seen how minor the part was) . They now know they have to - GASP!- watch everything they're sent.
Hank Kingsley 0 Report post Posted September 9, 2007 And a hearty congratulations to "Dick in a Box" for taking home the Creative Arts Emmy for Best Original Song.
Smartly Pretty 0 Report post Posted September 9, 2007 Think about it. A group of people now have a goddamn emmy that's engraved with the words "Dick in a Box" EDIT: Where'd you find that out though? I want to know if Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends won whatever it was they were nominated for. That show is so awesome, regardless of its target market. Hank Kingsley 0 Report post Posted September 15, 2007 The show's tomorrow night. And it's hosted by Ryan Seacrest. So you KNOW it'll be good. Predictions/wishes? I really, really, really want Jenna Fischer to win Best Supporting Actress. The Office could lose every other award and I wouldn't care. Best Comedy is a really close call between The Office, 30 Rock, and Ugly Betty. They may give it to 30 Rock to try and get it more viewers, like they did with Arrested Development. And Alec Baldwin will probably win despite having a shitty episode submission. He has all the hype. And, the Sopranos love is going to have to be cut off somewhere. Best Supporting Actor. Terry O'Quinn ftw.
Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted September 15, 2007 I expect Sopranos to clean up for all the obvious reasons. I just hope FOX doesn't try to imitate MTV.
treble 0 Report post Posted September 15, 2007 I hope 30 Rock doesn't win, because it's really not that good outside of Baldwin. I also hope Colbert loses again, since him 'whining' about losing to Manilow was great TV. Conan should really win some award, too, I just hope they don't give it to the Daily Show again this year.
strummer 0 Report post Posted September 16, 2007 Conan will never, ever win. All you need to know about that was Craig Ferguson was nominated for individual performance in a Variety show last year and Conan wasn't. Yeah sure. I'm convinced Conan is too goofy and the humor is too random that he must irk voters somehow. And count me in on the people who aren't really getting the 30 Rock Love. Yes it's funny but come on it's not *that* good
treble 0 Report post Posted September 16, 2007 I can understand Conan not winning best writing, or whatever, because most of the stuff is only funny because it's cheesy and dumb. Daily Show will probably win that one again, even though Colbert does it so much better. At least Jon Stewart realizes this.

Celtic Guardian 0 Report post Posted September 16, 2007 And count me in on the people who aren't really getting the 30 Rock Love. Yes it's funny but come on it's not *that* good It may be the meta factor. Television shows set in the television business have an inside track with voters in the same business. That's probably part of the reason why "Murphy Brown" clocked so many Emmys those years ago.
Hank Kingsley 0 Report post Posted September 16, 2007 Was BJ Novak with Hayden Panettiere? Nice work, dude. I just saw Hayden, so it's not her. Where do I know her from. Cerie from 30 Rock?
