Mecca Posted July 25, 2007 Report Posted July 25, 2007 Stevie is whatever they need him to be depending on who he's jobbing to that week.
Perfection Posted July 25, 2007 Report Posted July 25, 2007 People love to throw around the word buried. He jobbed, so he's buried. Ruined for life. He's worthless. Can't believe NoCal tried to use the non existant politics card. There is an excuse for Morrison being a champion and it's because they thought he'd be a fluke champion to put the title right back on Benoit when he would return after missing the PPV. Obviously that was thrown out the window, so might as well build Morrison as a top champion heel. Punk isn't ruined. You're reacting for the sake of reacting. I'm not saying he's ruined...he can always be built back up, but you are kidding yourself if you don't think they have hurt him lately in the eyes of the casual fan. I'm not looking at this from a "smark" standpoint..I'm looking at it from a mark standpoint. They see him losing in big matches to someone that the casual fan never took seriously, especially the last few months before coming to ecw...plus they see him struggling with very well known losers. The problem with ecw is they are working with a skeleton crew and there is no one else to build morrison up...who is a fucking lost cause anyway imho. He doesn't have "it", whatever that "it" is. So despite that they take someone who seems to have more going for him and book him in such a way that makes him look less than stellar.
Breakpack Posted July 25, 2007 Report Posted July 25, 2007 What exactly is it Stevie will show us and we'll see?
Downhome Posted July 25, 2007 Report Posted July 25, 2007 Who is this ref? I say it every week, but I'll say it again. Come on, we need a Stevie push.
The Niggardly King Posted July 25, 2007 Report Posted July 25, 2007 I'm loving Stevie's new striking MMA type of offense. Whip out the lucha subs next, Stevie!
Downhome Posted July 25, 2007 Report Posted July 25, 2007 Holy shit. That's one of the biggest mark out moments of the year for me.
fazzle Posted July 25, 2007 Report Posted July 25, 2007 STEVIE! STEVIE! STEVIE! Seriously, I marked out for that WAY more than I should have.
The Niggardly King Posted July 25, 2007 Report Posted July 25, 2007 I can see why one of the first things they do in OVW is make you watch tapes of Stevie and to take examples from his selling.
JPopStarKami Posted July 25, 2007 Report Posted July 25, 2007 I missed the first 15 minutes. Can somebody recap what happened?
MillenniumMan831 Posted July 25, 2007 Report Posted July 25, 2007 That ref showed a lot of Tommy Young-like feistiness. STEVIE WINS!!! Maybe Vince marked out for that Punk/Richards match almost as much as we did.
Steviekick Posted July 25, 2007 Report Posted July 25, 2007 Holy shit. That's one of the biggest mark out moments of the year for me. Same here. This and last week's Stevie match have made me very happy.
Hawk 34 Posted July 25, 2007 Report Posted July 25, 2007 When the roster consists of 8 people, even Stevie was bound to score a win at some point. Maybe it's Guido's turn next week.
Human Fly Posted July 25, 2007 Report Posted July 25, 2007 You know, I like John Morrison. I think everything about him (besides the mic work) is star quality. That being said, this is just not his time. I think CM Punk is a better choice but if they are not going with him now you have got to wonder what the plan is. Will Morrison hold it until they can get RVD back? A mini Stevie push is a great thing. This is the best he has looked in 10 years.
Downhome Posted July 25, 2007 Report Posted July 25, 2007 I fear a Mizz/CM Punk feud... When the roster consists of 8 people, even Stevie was bound to score a win at some point. Maybe it's Guido's turn next week. See, that's why we need Val Venis on ECW.

Will Morrison hold it until they can get RVD back? I still wonder what become of Vince's belief that Punk should be a heel given his lifestyle. He probably forgot, I'm sure. Punk's brief heel run showed more signs of the true CM Punk then we've seen throughout his entire good guy loves to wrestle act.
Mecca Posted July 25, 2007 Report Posted July 25, 2007 WWE management especially Steph isn't very fond of Punk.......there's about 4 guys on that roster they think higher of than him....

fazzle Posted July 25, 2007 Report Posted July 25, 2007 So with a Miz/Guido match, we're guaranteed 2 jobber wins a row?
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted July 25, 2007 Report Posted July 25, 2007 I think Vince is just worried that without Punk ECW would have no discernable faces to go buy tickets for.
Hawk 34 Posted July 25, 2007 Report Posted July 25, 2007 WWE management especially Steph isn't very fond of Punk.......there's about 4 guys on that roster they think higher of than him.... Which is strange because every report that says Stephanie hates Punk, also adds that Vince loves Punk as does other guys not named Finlay. Even Hunter. (Insert typical TSM "HE WANTS TO BURY HIM TOO!" quote). The entire "WWE HATES PUNK!" act is silly. It doesn't exist. You don't get pushed as a top face, regardless of how low the brand is seen in their eyes if you don't like the guy at all.
JPopStarKami Posted July 25, 2007 Report Posted July 25, 2007 WWE management especially Steph isn't very fond of Punk.......there's about 4 guys on that roster they think higher of than him.... What four guys would that be? Proof? Source?
