The Raw team would become the major team because Raw is the WWE baby. Vince makes fun of Michael Hayes backstage and now they want Smackdown to be like Raw.

 

And as far as that "oh they don't have to work every show" how does Raw book? Oh yea they use the same 5 people over and over and over.......a guy like Nitro couldn't even get onto Raw at 1 point. Brian Gerwirtz and his teams idea of booking isn't about rotating guys. Smackdown rotates guys so everyone gets on with something to do....Raw revolves around the same core of guys beating everyone while a bunch of other people have no direction and/or struggle to even get TV time.

A couple of notes from Meltzer's latest appearance on Figure Four Daily:

 

--The real Raw rating is likely going to be somewhere between a 2.8 and a 3.1

 

--One idea talked about, a lot, in relation to the ‘reset’ is having just one brand

 

 

That isn't much better to say the least and still a huge drop in just one week. Even if they end the separate brands, unless the booking/storyline improves, they aren't going to get the ratings they are hoping for.

Ending the brands will honestly result in more of things that are a major problem.......overexposure will be even more. John Cena is already on enough without seeing him even more. They'll burn through fueds even faster....not to mention a ton of guys will lose their jobs. If you only have 1 roster they will have no need for the 100 wrestlers they employ they could legit fire 35 guys if not more.

But it's not like the top guys has to wrestle EVERY show. If they booked it smart, they'd have the upper midcarders/midcarders do most of the wrestling while the top guys have interviews or in-ring segments that aren't matches.

 

The travel schedule is as much of a problem as the actual in-ring time. Even if one of the wrestlers doesn't actually wrestle, he would still have twice as many shows that he has to attend.

Just book a re-draft after SummerSlam. Get rid of the general managers and assistant general managers, and just have Vince McMahon as the main authority figure on both shows.

I hate it when Raw gets a lower than normal rating. Vince seems to go in panic mode everytime Raw and only Raw gets that low rating. If it was Smackdown or ECW he'd just shrug it off and act like it's a normal day at the office but if it's Raw...OH NO! PANIC BUTTON!

That's true, but there are some people who has to travel that heavily (HHH for example), so the creative team especially the higher ups are just going to go "We do it, you can do it too."

Santino Marella was taken to the hospital after the show last night in Wheeling, WV for X-rays to his shoulder. No word yet on the results but it was possibly a bruised collarbone from being landed on in that spinning uranage move by Umaga.

The problem is that Lashley spent months selling moves by Finlay, Booker, and other folks from midcards everywhere. He sold for RVD, a smaller wrestler than Kennedy. Goldberg began and ended with no-selling most moves. You can't create that kind of character with someone that everyone without ADHD remembers jobbing to Finlay only a year ago.

I was fine with the brand split, even having two world champions, until they started doing the show exclusive PPVs. Then they brought back ECW and everything went completely down the shitter.

William Regal is a very odd character in WWE. He's the type of guy where you can equally expect him to win or lose at any given moment, no matter his opponent. One week it wouldn't shock me to see them have him pin someone major, maybe even John Cena if the storyline was right, but it also wouldn't shock me to see him job to someone like Hacksaw, or even maybe a midget or a diva just so they can have him display his awesome facial expressions and everything. Not to mention that it's also believable for them to put him in a power role, GM or something else, at any given moment as well.

 

Doing a job to Hacksaw wouldn't hurt him on RAW, much less on Heat.
