Bored 0 Report post Posted August 23, 2007 Brandon Webb only extends his scoreless inning streak by 1/3 of an inning as a Prince Fielder RBI single in the 1st ends at 42 1/3 innings. Another note on the Texas game, Wes Littleton picked up a save. Yes in a 27 run win someone got a save. It's not like you get more bang for your buck if you trot him out there to get smacked around. Just demote him to mop-up and see if Masset can make multiple starts. Age: 31 (I thought he was older than this) ML Seasons: 12 Career Home Runs: 357 30 + HR Seasons: 8 (2 of 40+) 100 + RBI Seasons: 9 Career Average: .324 All Star Games: 8 (4 NL, 4 AL) 2004 American League MVP He has no Gold Glove awards but is generally regarded as an above average outfielder with a very good - great throwing arm. As of right now, 500 homers seems like a lock and his career average is currently 4th among active players. I am also not getting into niche statistics like OPS and other various things (like when I asked a while ago if Chipper Jones would make it) because we all know that the general voters of the BWAAA do not know them, or don't consider them. I'd say right now he will be in, as I said already he should smash 500 homers, he already has an MVP award, and winning a World Series, as always, would put him over the top. Orioles fans were actually cheering at the sheer novelty by the end of the game. They figured if they scored 27, they might as well go ahead and score 30. We stayed through three innings of game two, at which point we took off for home. I got home just 15 minutes ago (it's 2:25am now). It was nice to see former Red Baron Marlon Byrd hit a grand slam. For the record, this was the greatest blowout in modern baseball history. It was my first trip to Camden Yards, and I saw history. The park definitely lived up to expectations. It got out of hand because Dave Trembley was saving his relievers for game two, not wanting to use his best options in a blowout game. No one was even warming up in the ninth inning. 2. At Home 0 Report post Posted August 23, 2007 Hey, since when does pbone watch baseball? I've been an angels fan from when they sucked; the Tim Salmon days. I was at Game 7 of when they won the world series. Oh, I was also at the infamous game right before the strike. People threw shit all over the field, dumped trash, threw foul balls back, yelled and booed. It was like the whole stadium was angry and drunk. Even the announcer was trying to plead with the fans; the strike was supposed to take place right before the post-season, and we were tied with the mariners for first place, so if we stalled the game too long we forfeit, therefore killing our chances at post-season. The announcer guy kept saying "Hey, hey, you guys. Listen to me. LISTEN TO ME." Then someone threw a beer bottle onto the field and it shattered and he came back on saying "YOU'RE NOT LISTENING TO ME. DON'T STALL THE GAME OR WE FORFEIT." That's a shame as Trenton is quite a nice park. I'm betting the Yankees want to aim for one of the Connecticut teams in the Eastern League. Trenton is only 15-20 miles from Philadelphia and it's not quite a Yankees' hotbed. I can't see who would want Trenton right off.
