At Home Posted August 28, 2007 Report Posted August 28, 2007 Remember when Barry Bonds killed professional sports? Discuss.
CanadianGuitarist Posted August 28, 2007 Report Posted August 28, 2007 Elaborate; - Being a prick doesn't ruin sports. It's not like anyone else ever, say, charged waaaay to much for an autograph, or was curt to a member of the mdeia. - For better or for worse, baseball's got a tonne of print and airtime this year, and look at the attendance over the last 6 months or so. Is this meant to be the steroids thing again?
Ripper Posted August 28, 2007 Report Posted August 28, 2007 This is like the worst thread in folder I have probably ever seen. Seriously. Its that bad. Edit it and make it something worth being here.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted August 28, 2007 Report Posted August 28, 2007 Remember when Barry Bonds killed professional sports? Discuss. I don't. I've gone to over 40 games this year at five levels, and at no point did I think to myself, "god, this game would be so much better if Barry Bonds never existed." If you're going the steroids route, steroids existed long before Bonds and will continue long after he retires. Why do we have steroids? Because of the pressure and rewards to win sports. And why does that exist? Because sports are professional and not amateur.

UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted August 28, 2007 Report Posted August 28, 2007 The strike turned baseball from America's Favorite Game into "another sport", not Bonds.
Vern Gagne Posted August 29, 2007 Report Posted August 29, 2007 It was Fantasy Football and gambling that turned the NFL into America's number one sport.
Red Baron Posted August 29, 2007 Report Posted August 29, 2007 It was Fantasy Football and gambling that turned the NFL into America's number one sport. I agree with that statement.
