ECW is the best wrestling program on TV today. That was an amazing show. Why can't Raw, Smackdown, or TNA do that?

ECW is only 70 minutes long, which means just 45ish minutes of content. I don't know what TNA's excuse is, but Smackdown and Raw aren't deep enough to fill 130/85 minutes every week. They should get rid of the roster split. It's effectively killed two shows.

No, they should not. Bad writing has killed two shows. ECW is the best show the E has going because it is simple old school "grudge match" booking. You know going in for the last month that (for the most part) you are going to get a segment involving Boogey and Big Daddy V, a segment involving Miz and Balls, a segment involving Stevie and Thorn as well as a segment involving Morrison and Punk. Sprinkle in some Dreamer, Burke and Guido for flavor and there you go.

Do you honestly think that if they were to end the brand split it would not be three times as stale as it is now? If your argument is that with three shows they would spread the stars around I would tell you that they already do that with the split. No one can convince me that there is upside to ending the split.

It's not filling up the space that is the issue, it is the ones doing the filling. ECW is basically working off of 10 people every week and making everyone have purpose and keeps 3-4 regular storylines going on a coherent basis. TNA tries to cram 45 in the same period and fail miserably. Raw has a bad writer creating the staleness, Smackdown is just a plodding show with zero star power.

This was a fun show tonight, obviously enjoyed Punk winning the title even if it was very much spoiled for the past few days.

I don't know if ECW is the best wrestling show on TV, but it is at least brief and doesn't outstay its welcome. Some of the best Raw shows ever were those 1 hour variety circa 1993....just nothing but action and pushing the angles that need it. At least ECW focuses on the core group that needs to be focused on.

Oh, and isn't it ironic with Morrison that a guy who was doing the "15 minutes of fame" challenge just had his own 15 minutes of fame end tonight?
