Darthtiki 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2007 A few thoughts: The question is whether or not the Pats win, but by how much If the Chargers lose to the Chiefs, will there be rumblings to fire Norv Turner on Monday? I hope Matt Schaub throws for 300 yards and at least 4 TDs, just to give Arthur Blank a well deserved Fuck You in the Georgia Dome.
sfaJack 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2007 Have I missed something? Why does Arthur Blank deserve a big 'fuck you' from Schaub for trading him? I seriously doubt Schaub is upset about being traded and becoming the #1 guy in Houston, especially since he was still #2 in Atlanta at the time of the trade. The trade made sense for both the Falcons and Schaub at the time.
Cheech Tremendous 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2007 Three weeks isn't much time to evaluate, but it sort of appears that Schaub is the better quarterback. Maybe he'd be upset over being stuck behind Vick? I don't really know.
Darthtiki 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2007 Duly noted, what I was trying to say was that I hope Schaub goes in there and lights the Falcons up, further frustrating Atlanta fans. When they traded Schaub, it was during a time when they thought Vick was going to skate and maybe it seems to me that it was a really boneheaded move, especially when you sign Joey Harrington to be your starter after the fact. I do realize that the Falcons picked up Leftwich, which is better
Ripper 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2007 Shaub was traded before the raid on the house. And they had already signed Joey Harrington to be the teams back up. Shaub was treated like gold here in Atlanta, and there will probably be a arena full of Shaub jerseys because some sensible people and basically all of the redneckians in the city wanted him to be the QB of the team when Vick was here. I think Shaub is a good QB, and I think that with that team in Houston, it is the perfect fit. He has a all pro caliber reciever, a great running back, a fast maturing offensive line that has stepped it up for him pretty well(although last game started to get nasty). I still question his decision making sometimes, but I think that Atlanta would have been alot better off if he was our QB. BUT, then I remember how well the offensive lineman we drafted with that pick from Houston is playing and helping the offensive line now (that is easily twice as good pass protecting than they have been in the last 6 years) and think that the trade will eventually pay off for the Falcons. If the Falcons knew then what they know now, they wouldn't have made that trade, but that is just hindsight. I am sure that Shaub isn't angry at the Falcons for giving him a chance and I am sure that Atlanta is feeling bad that he is doing well, as they thought he was a good QB, and they had questions about Vicks durability. That said, I don't see him having a huge game. Ahmad Green will have a field day though with the interior of the D being so weak(Fucking Keith Brooking and Jonathan "dog killer" Babaniex). Grady Jackson, Michael Boley and John Abaraham played like super men last week. So Carolina just ran to the other side and averaged 10 yards a carry. That isn't going to change this week sadly. I think the Atlanta secondary is kinda dangerous though.
cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2007 Here are my picks: GB @ MIN: Would the Packers really dampen a great start by losing to the freakin Vikings? It could happen, but I can't see it somehow. GB by 7. BAL @ CLE: What's up with the Ravens' QB situation? Either way I think they win this by about 10. CHI @ DET: Griese gets the start here, so I think the Bears will assert themselves in this one. Chicago by 6. STL @ DAL: Rams seem helpless thus far and Cowboys are bitchslappers. Dallas by 14. OAK @ MIA: Well someone is going to win this. I'll take the Raiders, they actually haven't looked too terrible this year. NYJ @ BUF: Call me crazy but I think the Bills finally get a win in this one. Buffalo by 3. HOU @ ATL: This will be amusing. Schaub will fuck them up, Houston by 14. PIT @ ARI: Hines Ward is hurt but this is still the Cardinals here. Steelers by 16. SEA @ SF: The Seahawks don't do much for me to be honest, but neither do the Niners. I'll take SF at home by 3, but have no strong feelings either way. TB @ CAR: Interesting game here between 2-1 teams. I'll go with Carolina since they are at home, but TB takes the rematch. Panthers by 4. DEN @ IND: Denver is a massive fraud to be 2-1, having screwed the Raiders and gotten a last second FG vs. Buffalo. Colts will beat the piss out of them by 21 here. KC @ SD: No way do the Chargers lose to the offensively inept Chiefs....right? SD by 10. Bad Sunday Night Football PHI @ NYG: The Giants might misguidedly try to save Tom Coughlin's job. I'll take NY here by 6, the insane 56 points last week might be an aberration. Worse Monday Night Football NE @ CIN: If the Browns put up 51 on these guys, what is Tom Brady going to do to them? NE by 20.

MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2007 Here are my picks: BAL @ CLE: What's up with the Ravens' QB situation? Either way I think they win this by about 10. Brian Billick must think he's coaching the Orioles. Basically, McNair is going to start and probably play 3 quarters a game. Boller is the Relief QB and will come in and play the 4th to keep McNair healthy for the entire season. They should probably figure a way to do the same for the defense since they've been sucking wind in the 4th quarter the last two games and letting big leads go away (up 20-3 going into the 4th qtr the past 2 weeks). Then they go and trade Matt Schaub, when there were doubts about Vick's QB ability? Dan Reeves was fired because Arthur Blank wanted the team to be his and start over. So he fired the coaching staff and hired the new young guy in Mora. Which was a pretty dumbass move. But I guess he believed that Vick being a top 10 QB in his first year as a starter was more Vick than it was Vick and good coaching. Which, once again, was stupid. Plus, Vick was their QB and that wasn't going to change unless something happened...oh like running a dog fighting operation. There was no point in keeping Shaub, who was going to be a free agent the next year and get lost without any compensation. Trust me, if the draft had taken place two months later, Matt wouldn't have been traded. And not to take Shaub down a notch because I think he is doing a great job and all and hope he has a great career, but really, 4 touchdowns against 3 interceptions is worthy of all this praise? The knock on him coming out of college is that he isn't going to get you in the endzone and has shakey decision making. I know people want to say HA HA FALCONS ARE HORRIBLE!!!!! But honestly, what is he doing that Joey Harringon isn't?(yes I am fully aware the he is a better QB than Joey, but still)

The Niggardly King 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2007 I look for Griese to do well. He's been unfairly crapped on. I mean... it's hard to come in and take over the reigns of one of the greatest QBs of all time, in a town that worships him like a GOD and expect you to even surpass him. I feel bad for whoever has to takeover for Favre when he finally hangs it up.
Kinetic 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2007 Vick had a water bottle with a secret compartment in the airport. Whether or not he was using the water bottle as a makeshift bong is a debatable point; I think it was just used for storage, and they didn't actually find any pot on him. Billick needs to learn to run the ball when he has the lead in the 4th qtr. The defense wouldn't be gassed as much if he did... He needs to protect them even more since Rolle and Pryce are out for an extended period of time.

yankovic fan 0 Report post Posted September 30, 2007 I picked Detroit over Chicago in my football pool with my friends and I'm starting to sweat it.
