NFL Week 4 Failed Rexperiment & Chat

Recommended Posts

I thought Norv would be fucked around week 13 but never underestimate him to screw up something good up by the 4th week. Not only that but Arizona is somehow beating down Pittsburgh. Football is a strange sport.

I'm more interested in why the picture on the NFL page of Yahoo looks like Brett Favre is about to give one of his teammates a Death Valley Driver.

Favre likes to carry teammates, usually Donald Driver, around on his shoulders in celebration. In that photo's case it is Greg Jennings after catching Favre's 421st touchdown pass.

That's either really weird or really confusing or a combination of both. Does he do it to constantly show he's still strong enough to stay until he's 50?

How the hell does SD allow a Herm Edwards coached team hang 30 points on them at home? Oakland may actually have a shot at the division since neither Denver or SD want to run away with it like they should.

The West still isn't the worst division though, the AFC East has a comfortable lead there; Bills/Jets was just painful to watch.

This is ridiculous. Here's a tip: If Umenyoira is lighting up Winston Justice; give Justice some god damned help.

So here is the Eagles offense w/o Westbrook, any questions as to who the most important player on this team is?

Meh... as bad as the Bills/Jets was, at least the end of the game was somewhat exciting and Trent Edwards looked like a solid QB.

The Bears losing didn't shock me that much, honestly. After seeing Kitna go off last week yardage wise and seeing how effective Tony Romo and the Cowboys passing game was against the Bears D, I expected a similar result... although not to the tune of 34 points in the 4th quarter.

Something about how Trent Edwards releases the ball, I think its going to lead to a lot of picks from him. But damn good game.

The Eagles line has apparently taken the night off or McNabb isn't recognizing the blitzs properly. Either way, geez.

The Falcons win a game today, and thats great. THe running game showed up some, which also was good. Shaub abused Lewis Sanders today, which is pretty much the theme of Falcons game. One pass thrown to Halls side the ENTIRE game and that was when they were in prevent at the end of the game. Thats crazy.

Chris Houston was the defending corner on the big Touchdown pass earlier in the game, but he was there and the reciever made a incredible catch. Lewis is getting lost on evey single deep pass out there. Its time to put the rook in. Plus, Chris Crocker still sucks. Jimmy Williams was doing a much better job.

Carolina Tampa game was pretty good, David Carr with the kickass dive for a first down being the highlight of the evening. But Carolina is alot better than their record says. But I think they might be digging a hole right now.

I find it amazing that the Ravens finally put together a 7+ minute drive in the 4th qtr of the game in which they need to stop the clock in order to come back. I guess the new Billick philosophy is to stop the clock with a 14+ point lead and to eat it up when you are down by 14+.

Grats to Farve for the TD record. Awesome QB.

Man, Carolina was unbelievably awful on offense today. That David Carr dive was the only highlight for them, with that touchdown coming down 20 with less than 30 seconds to go. They'd better hope that Delhomme can get back in, because they're not going anywhere with Carr at quarterback. Cadillac going down for the season kind of sucks, but we'll be fine with a Pittman/Graham rotation. Petitgout going down really hurts, because he was the catalyst for the o-line playing a lot better this year. Still, I'm really liking this team right now.

Just not next week.

I'd put Tony Romo up there with Brett for the MVP

I knew the Lions staged a comeback but I read they scored 34 points in the 4th quarter, My God the Bears are just pathetic, when they are supposed to have the best D, given they lost alot of their D, but there is no reason that any team should give up that many points in 1 quarter let alone the final one when they were up 13-3 for 3 of the quarters

The sports media's 180 on Farvah has been nothing short of laughable... the previous two years they were all "You're old and washed up, GTFO!" and now suddenly they're swinging off him all over again

if the Pack pulls off 12 wins i'd think he's a shoe in for it

He's playin like it's 96 again

Are you kidding? The Bears lost like 2 or 3 defensive starters for the Super Bowl and got run all over. They have proven that they're only as good as when everyone is there and healthy. Losing 6 defensive starters is going to get a 34 point quarter for any team. That said, the Bears ARE pathetic. Funny they benched Grossman for making mistakes and it was Griese throwing 3 picks in this game against a putrid Detroit defense.

What about Tom Brady? Based on the first three weeks, the guy could put up unreal numbers this year.

He's having a Career year...

He has more weapons and an established team....I think Randy Moss Revived is a big part as well

Favre is doing all this with Donald Driver and young guys

might end up like Culpeper/Manning from a couple years ago..

Daunte had one of the the Best Years ever for a QB....

But Peyton was just unbelievable that year

Yeah, Brady/Favre/Romo are probably the MVP leaders in that order. Of the three Brady has the best chance for consistent considering the weapons he gets to work with.

Keep going, Slayer!

I always wonder why Kyle Orton got 3rd String when he had the great year a couple years ago as a Rookie..

Orton holds the key to the Promise land I believe

Keep going, Slayer!

If Favre keeps this pace up he'll win

Cause of less weapons and the nostalgic factor
