NFL Week 6: The Bills Could Not Pay Their Way To A Win

Recommended Posts

But this is the NFL WEEK 6 thread and I saw the RAVENS were still involved in this league last I hear. So It's not out of bounds to discuss them. I'd would create a blog but nobody would read it so what's the point??

And the Colts I don't mind I am not angry at the Colts cause BOB IRSAY is dead.

Baltimore didn't want to steal the Browns. But we had to cause the NFL didn't want another team here. And that's the only way we would had gotten another one. Cause if we didn't do that? No team would been in Baltimore.

the Baltimore Ravens need to be talked about at all times, have their own sub folder, and have access to a time machine.

So that's how they plan to replace Kyle Boller.

Yes it is BECAUSE YOU'RE THE ONLY DOUCHEBAG DISCUSSING THEM.

The point would be that you could get that Ravens talk out of your system so we don't have to hear about it. Here's an idea that would make alkeiper happy, I'm sure, since he hates "those CTDWAT trolls": Go ahead and start your own NFL threads, Ravens only chat. Seriously.

... I wish we had a sports folder mod who gave a shit about football.

But what about that other guy? And not everybody have to discuss them immediately I seen forum post where something on first page doesn't get discussed till later. I just t hrow it out there cause tha'ts my neck the woods. I am from Baltimore born and raised and I root for BALTIMORE teams. Even the Orioles when they are bad. And especially Baltimore Football and even HOckey when we have a team.

I am not trying to start trouble!! If you don't wanna talk about the Ravens just don't respond and wait till the other guy says somethine.

Me too. Cause then maybe I'll be on the nightly news or internet news and people talk about me. ANd maybe my death would be featured in the next show about Baltimore like THE WIRE. ;)

Minnesota at Chicago 1:00 PM Fox: Yeah this is just what the world needs, the Bears making an ill advised run at the playoffs. Chicago by 10.

I'm going to apologize on behalf of the Chicago Bears for not conceding the season after four weeks. Moreover, when is a run at the playoffs "ill-advised"? Is it bad for business to not roll over and die or something? I don't get it. Oh well, it is cabbageboy.

I was thinking the same thing.

Tampa Bay signs Zack Crockett to fill the gaping hole at running back. Super Bowl, here we come! On the plus side, Carolina signed Vinnie Testaverde. No Chris Leak sighting, sadly.

When was Testaverde's last productive season? It just seems like this guy should be, at best, a name on a depth chart at this point in his career. In Carolina, there's a really good chance that he'll be on the field.

WSH@GB - This is the "who is more for real game" while both teams could end up in the playoffs, one could get the feeling that one of these teams will come out of Sunday's game in a lot better shape than the other, and looked at as a bigger contender. The Packers are coming into this game the #1 pass offense. Of course, so were the Lions going into their game with the Redskins last week and they just got knocked down, I believe five spots. Farve >>>>>> Kitna, but I think the Lions had more weapons on offense to use. The Packers offense will come down to their line play. To retort my last statement on the Pack's running game, they actually ran the ball farely well on the Bears in the first quarter, but for some reason couldn't sustain it past the first big drive. It forced Farve into full gunslinger mode which, without a lot of weapons, will equal turnovers. I expect Jason Campbell to make a mistake or two, on the road, in a hostile crowd, in a big game. Hopefully the mistake(s) happen early in the game and the defense can bail him out. I think the Redskins will try to control the clock with the running game and limit how much Campbell has to put drives on his own shoulders. With the defense playing the way it is, and being virtually injury free, i think they halt the Packers O enough to come away with an upset win(well on the road I consider it an upset)

Skins 23

Packers 21

NE@DAL - well since Dallas managed to pull a win out in Buffalo, this game might be getting a tad more hype then it deserves. This really is Dallas's first test of the season and it comes against the top team(or 2nd best) team in the league. The thing about the Pats is, if Romo throws 2-3 picks in this game, the Cowboys won't be sitting back in the fourth quarter with a chance to comeback to win the game. The Cowboys are a good team, however they are playing a great team, and the 'boys need to play a virtually flawless game to win here. The Cowboys pass defense has always been atrocious even with Newman semi-shutting down one side of the field, and with Randy Moss running deep routes on the Dallas safeties, who have shown over the years they can't cover, Dallas won't be keeping the Patriots out of the end zone too much. This game comes down to the Cowboys offensive coordinators finding a way to break the New England defense. Aint happening in October.

Pats 28

Cowboys 17

The comment I made about the Bears making an "ill advised" playoff run was sarcastic. As in after this Grossman QB controversy crap, the dreadful 1-3 start they just need to suck and go 4-12, then get a decent draft pick. I kinda wish they had kept Grossman in there, he was certainly entertaining.

No they don't. They still have a lot of talented players on the defense. They're not going to tank the season and go for a draft pick when their window is still open. Besides, with Jerry Angelo running the team, they're probably not taking a high-ranked quarterback, seeing as he likes to draft defensive players practically exclusively, and the Bears have already been burned by a heralded QB prospect. I can see them just going with the Brian Grieses and Kyle Ortons of the world from here to eternity, ensuring that Sid Luckman will never be surpassed as the greatest Chicago quarterback ever. No more big names at quarterback. I'm almost totally fine with that.

Maybe Rex Grossman can shit his pants for your amusement on your own favorite team next year, since he's already packing his bags here.

Correct.

There is. Ignore function, dude. I can think of no better circumstance in which to use it.

You shouldnt have asked that! HAHA..I get to talk about the Ravens! WHOO!

I know he still holds several QB records for the Ravens and that dates back to 1996/97 and he made the pro bowl in 96. He threw for over 4000 yards and had 33 TD passes in 96 which were both career highs that he hasn't even come close to since.

Just imagine if we had another Cardinals fan here... I think that'd break the laws of physics

It'd be nice to have another Vikings fan here to commiserate with, as well as deal with the board's seeming multitude of scattered cheeseheads

At least I don't talk about the Cardinals all the time.

I have heard rumors that Testeverde may even START this week after just signing this week. The Panthers aren't that desperate are they?

I guess Carr's questionable or whatever.

They do have Matt Moore (you know, the guy who helped Oregon St. beat USC last year). It would be fun to see Vinny throw a TD so he can extend that awesome streak of most consecutive seasons with at least 1 TD pass.

Carr's talent is questionable!

Anyway, I like Tampa to beat the Titans. I feel like we're good enough to make Vince Young pay for the mistakes he'll invariably make, running back or no running back.

How did Moore wind up on the Panthers roster? Last I saw him was as a Dallas Cowboy in the preseason.

When was Testaverde's last productive season?

Almost ten years ago (1998), if his Pro Football Reference page says anything. His last three full seasons ('00. '01, '04) are marred by a nearly 1:1 TD/INT ratio (and in two of those seasons he threw more INTs than TDs).

I know they don't want to start a rookie, but come on now. Testaverde's had 2 practices in the office, Moore's been there since he was cut from the Cowboys (which answers the walkin' dude's question) and he even played a bit last week. Give the kid a shot; if Joey freakin Harrington can get playing time over Byron Leftwich based on experience in the system I don't see why Moore shouldn't start.

Well Green Bay still doesn't really have a running game to speak of, and Washington did destroy the last pass-oriented team they faced (Detroit). I can understand where they'd think the same of this week's game, but I don't think that will happen.

Oh, by no means do I think this a guranteed win or anything for Green Bay. I was just feeling very uncomfortable with all the experts suddenly climbing aboard this rickety-at-best bandwagon.
